This video features the CLA45s AMG which is one of the AMG performance versions of the Mercedes CLA. My car is the 2022 CLA45s AMG Coupe but you can also get the CLA45s AMG Shooting brake or even the A45s Hatch back.
The CLA45s gives you that great AMG sound from the AMG performance and also the luxury of a Mercedes Benz

this is the wrong oil for this car. In Germany, the 229.71 (0w-20) oil comes in the 45S.

Hi ABAuto！Nice to see the full record of your first service and nice pocket rocket you have！But I am confusing about if new 45 engines should drink 0w40，since I have read that it should be 0w20
i really enjoyed this video, thank you! And could you please make another one about changing rear diff oil? i learned there are three parts in rear differential(gear box in the middle and side coupling in both side) and its really hard to find proper oil for them in my country.
Great video! I'd recommend Amsoil and Motul over the AMG oil. 100% synthetic is way better than "full" synthetics.

@@lamduyductruong7006 I run a website with Mercedes Merch (www.petrolheadtees.com) and I’ve made more sales to Australia than anywhere else! I’ve haven’t really considered a tune yet but I am starting to get an itch for a custom exhaust system, perhaps sometime in the new year.
Great video as always! Very informative! Too bad we can't trust all dealers to take the same care and diligence. We know they change the oil and top up the fluids, but who knows if they check the rest so carefully 🤷♂️.

I work at a German brand dealership and I can assure you this level of servicing is only theoretical, no one actually does all these checks to detail

@@taxicrew1 Crist it’s an oil change & filter with tyre trend update. They literally send you a video of the tyre depths and break pad wear on video when you have your car serviced. The basics… what backstreet dealer you using.

I can confirm that all the Mercedes dealers I have used here in the UK send across a video health check. They call it Mercedes Star view.

Love the dramatic music for an oil change haha. Too long for initial oil change imo, I like to change break in oil by 1000 miles (which I did in my '23 RS3 myself and only use Amsoil Signature series)
Visited a German dealership last year. Another world!
I think a lot of this is overkill my Mazda 6 2020 service oil change, includes checking all fluids, wipers and tires for $60.00. In the U.S. they charge $1200.00 for the C-Class service A
I wish dealers in Romania were half as professional as over there. Just trash here. Asked for updates, asked for recalls, they take so much time and ignore you as long as possible. I think my next service will be done by people I trust in some obscure garage. Still better. Thank you for the video as always 👌

I wonder if my MB dealer was this thorough and meticulously detailed as shown in this video when I had a Service A done on my R172 SLK55. I was generally happy overall when I got my car back. Do some dealers actually give you a video of what and how they did the work?

Hello... I have a 2012 Mercedes W204 chassis car, the temperature gauge goes up and down to 120 degrees, I changed the thermostat, I changed the heater core, but the problem was not solved, I wanted to get your opinion, I would be glad if you could help.
Hello i have a cls550 2014 I am extremely frustrated, I am currently on my 5th kickstarter, when it’s changed, everything is fine for a few weeks, then suddenly, it stops working, after a few tries to start the engine, it literally that smoking. We have changed the crank sensor, kickstarter and even tried using the car without the push to start. All to no avail, it just keeps burning out. Please help
Excellent content!!!!!!! I love it. Btw, their oil can do 20 000km, I was like what? when I purchased my car :) You can't imagine how much I like to enter a Mercedes garage to see how they are working... Imagine walking in the factory that would make a great video too :)

This is Mercedes-Benz of Stockport here in the UK. It’s our biggest dealership and I think one of the biggest in Europe. Most here in the UK are much smaller but Stockport is very special! It even has a cinema. I did a full tour video here th-cam.com/video/bQD2xUVjBMQ/w-d-xo.html

Thanks Rajan, The C43 is a brilliant car I built my channel with a Blue C43 saloon. I have loads of videos on the C43 if you are looking into it. The 35s are very fun and capable cars also.
Yeah, I am confused by the 0W-40. Also confused that it only needs to be changed every 10K miles. Mine has 8,800 miles after 8 months.
The proper oil is 229.71 0W20....MB chose this viscosity for fuel economy. I am scared to put this 229.71 in my crank case.
What happens is they charge you three times what anyone else would charge for the same work. Do they pay their staff three times more? I don't think so
How about removing the wheels and copperslip the hubs . So the wheels will release from the hubs. You should know that alloy corrosion forms there I would not be happy with your level of service if that wasn’t done for the prices merc charges. And you get a better view of the brake assembly and pads .. not with a stick mirror. Shocking to see that.
0w-40 oil? i do 0W-20 in Germany
I use DEX2 0w-40 in mine. I could see you using 0W-20 in Germany due to the cold weather.

Yep, I think all of EU/UK have one
great vid more importantly how much was the service ? my A service and mot was £594 not bad really, but my B service, mot and brake fluid was £640, next B service will be more as other bit will need changing poss pulgs maybe👍😀
Hey Steve, kinda kicking myself for not finding out and including this in the video! My car came with the first service free. I remember my C43s first service being around £300ish, £594 sounds high but might be the extra V8 tax!
@@ABAUTOAMG can't complain about a free service👍 the 594 does include the mot so probably 50 for that, as always the labour costs more than the parts 😂👍
Mine is never going to an official dealer anymore , took out my parallel parking , had 4 or 5 screw missing , bumper was on crooked ....i can do it better myself.....

Yeah, it should be 0-20 as far as I'm aware for this engine.

It really depends on the dealer. Some are much better than others. You should get a video of the health check through Mercedes Star view.
How much did that set you back? I had my Mercedes minor service in August and was 850 euros
Hi Dave, this first service came free with my car luckily. 850 euros is a lot! It’s very different here in the UK, an average service A is around £200-300 at a main dealer. What is your car out of interest?
@@ABAUTOAMG GLC AMG43, I did have a GLC 250 Coupe and that was 100 euros less, but Munich is an expensive city at the best of times

@@ABAUTOAMG Munich is the most expensive city in Germany, they certainly like their pound of flesh. Actually, they did replace the front wipers in that cost, just remembered. I did look at the CLA45 but it was just too low for my liking, I like to sit up a little higher, but certainly happy with this V6 😀

Hey Shin sorry for the slow reply! Try to get back to everyone but sometimes miss a few comments so I'm just having a catch up. I've done 10k miles so far, I think that translates to around 16k km.

How much did the entire service A cost you?
I had the first service for free with the car as part of the deal when I bought it but most people go for a service plan which costs £40 a month last time I checked for this car 👍

Not! A real tech would started with oil and filter first, then examined the rest of the car while the oil was draining

Hi Isaaz, here in the UK a service A is usually around £200-300 depending on the model it can vary so always best to call your local dealer to check. My CLA45s came with a free service for the first year. Generally the cost to maintain a 45s is pretty low compared to older performance cars.

All this “detailed” inspection and it still won’t last 100k miles.. The ex cons at Toyota barely check anything and that car will last you well above 300k.. I will never understand why such an expensive car is so damn fragile

Sure why not? With the volume of cars they take in it makes sense to have 2 people to work together. It means that they can get through the cars quicker but more importantly you can have a more senior tech constantly working with and training a younger less experienced one. This seems like smart business to me. Never underestimate the importance of pairing people together to train and develop staff.
I hope we can get this type of professionalism in Benz dealers here in Canada. Last service they just damaged my leather seat.

Any car even a small 1.0 litre engine has to be serviced. Google what an engine looks like that has not had an oil change in years It’s one of the most important things to do to keep your car running well. Please don’t neglect servicing your car it will cause you way more pain and money in the long run if you don’t take proper care of it.

Hey Hakan, to be honest we didn’t really stage much here. We just did a bit of minor planning for safety etc and I had a few small shots I wanted to get other than that i just told the guys to carry out the service and chased them both with my camera to get as much footage possible. I was a sweaty mess after! 🥵I asked Mark to say what he was doing as he did it so so had a great reference to write the voiceover to.

Everything they do on this video is the same as any independent MB specialist or independent garage would do but at a fraction of the cost.
Im not sure how the AMG oil differs from fully synthetic oil but oil costs aside I'd expect to pay £150 - £200 for that A service. I bet if you were paying for that it would be nearer £350 - £400 at the MB main dealer.
My option would be to use a good MB specialist, Usually they get to know you and your car everytime its in.

Let me give you some advise guys who ever wants to buy this car just like you change engine oil the transmission oil and filter plus differential oil needs changing every 30000miles. My friend has owned one of these from new and never changed the transmission oil and filter plus differential oil . The car did not shift smoothly after 60000 miles then decided to change it with the Merc dealership. After changing the transmission oil there were metal shavings in the gearbox oil. the car gear shifts were very smooth after changing the oil . So guys please please do not buy a car where the transmission oil and filter plus differential oil has not been changed. there are nasty people out there who buy these lovely cars and do not look after them and this is exactly why they break. the M133 and M139 is a bullet proof 4 cylinder engine which has very good fuel economy if you look after it, it will last forever till you die.
Lets say a bought a car I remember someone told me to immediately change engine oil and filter after I buy it but about the transmission is it ok to change it too,
You have to change transmission oil every 30000 miles and differential oil
