I have had this deck for a while now and have used it quite a lot. I actually expected it to be a lot darker in energy then it really is. At least for me, it doesn’t have a dark energy at all when I work with it. I was hesitant to buy it when it was in preorder, I was worried that it might be too creepy. I was very surprised by its energy when I started working with it. It does have a very very intense energy, but I don’t perceive as dark at all. It is so beautiful laid out and the hooded figures (once you get past the initial shock)really help me connect to the energy of the card and my subconscious with our getting distracted by peoples faces.
I will say that I find this deck VERY difficult to shuffle (although it is by no means a deal breaker). I have new found respect for the strength of your hands!!!

I agree with your assessment. I didn't find it terrifying, but it is a shock to the system. But yes, the anonymity of the figures is awesome. ❤

There is now a Somnia Tarot guidebook with his perspective and information on the work done to photograph these! It's pretty impressive! Highly recommend getting it with the deck.

This is my only physical deck so far. I only really became interested in tarot last December and after about a month of research, learning the basics, and getting a passing familiarity with RWS, I was on the lookout for a deck to speak to me and be the one. I stumbled across this one on IG and knew instantly, although I made myself wait a bit to make sure I wasn't jumping too soon. Biding my time with the official reveal video and other unboxings only confirmed the connection. Photography-based decks generally don't work for me, but this has just the right touch of surrealism to make it something more. I see where it can be too dark for some, but I like the weight of the images and the craft of the artist, and the RWS connections are solid enough for even a beginner like me, if you do the work. The companion book is an extra expense but it adds so much to the journey the artist portrays in the cards and includes other info on some of his process and intentions. The deck and book together aren't cheap, but it was a holiday gift for myself and supported a young artist doing great work.
WM, I was so excited to see this deck on your feed! Your Modem Witch review was instrumental when I was researching for a deck for my daughter last Xmas (dabbling in witchery, and tarot seemed a good tangent, so it was a nice intersection). That's what spurred my own interest.

I love this deck. The imagery is beautiful and the deck definitely has an overwhelming energy, but this is a deck I have to add to my collection. Thanks for sharing 😃🙌🏾

this is so so beautiful! the imagery really captures the rawness of the tarot and sort of throwbacks to when tarot was being created, almost! I have to buy this! thanks for another great review x

I really love this deck. I don't know. The visions are like walking a path between being awake and asleep. It's quite the dreamscape, between dark and light, between the real and surreal, a dance of delight with a mix of macabre. Like you said, it's subjective; and while it provides a pathway to promise, it is up to the individual to see and feel what he wants to see and feel. Thank you for the walkthrough of the deck. I have ordered it based upon your video and cannot wait to receive it.

This is a very very dark deck (I had the feeling I had to clense my room only looking at it and not even touching it, ,such a heavy deck!)
and tbh? I love it. I think we can defnitley need a deck like this in some reading. At least to my soul it speaks instantly and I can feel the meaning through the pictures so hard. Thanks for showing.

Wow what an incredible deck thanks for sharing! It's like Inception x Dali and I actually don't find it to be dark at all--just very abstract like dreams often are. Love the photography, card/set design, and location scouting! Going to purchase one now! 🤩

I am blown away with this deck. I am judging this not as a tarotist, but as a collector though.
For me, this is a must-have. No doubt about it.

I love this deck. It is one of my shadow decks. I also got the campanion book to go withi it and it adds so much more to it. The amount of work that he put into each phot is astounding and not to mention the light he is shinning on people who suffer from sleep paralysis. Very deep deck.

I own this deck and consider it an absolutely beautiful work of art. I’ve had it for about six months and, to be honest, have only done one reading with it….it has a very intense energy to it, more so than any of my other decks. Just holding it in my hands, it has a weight to it, and I don’t mean physically! It’s hard to describe my relationship with this one. I love it but I’m also a bit intimidated by it, if that makes any sense! Thanks for the walkthrough, I loved hearing your reaction to it! 🥰

Did I miss it? It seemed that you didn’t say the most important part of the creation story of this deck. The information that sets the stage and provides insight as to the “why” of the imagery. Mr Bruno has a sleep disorder called sleep paralysis. That’s where you wake up but are not able to move. During that time you are drifting in and out of lucid dreams. The images he created are related to his experiences with his sleep disorder. I think knowing that before you look at the cards gives context and meaning that is important.

reminds me of the artist who put all the shrouded ghosts in a church somewhere in eastern europe. if that is him i hope he uses that image. i remember seeing some of these images on tumblr 10 years ago.

Good morning! It's so strange to read about it! I opened my copy of the deck yesterday. I didn't think I'd ever buy a deck based on photos of real people, but the captured scenes are very similar to my dreams. I decided to buy despite the high price (in my country, almost $ 100). Yesterday I was amazed by the light of this deck! The cards are like Ariadne's thread, which leads out of the maze to light and clarity! It is more a tool of psychotherapy, not divination.

Loved the review, thank you, it is final available via an indie shop here in Europe so I am going to buy it. A high investment but there is something that has always drawn me to it (I am a Scorpio :). The only issue I have is the cardstock, I wish it had been matte.

I think these cards a photographed so well and I can instantly feel the meaning of the card. But these covered faces are a no go for me. It takes away my breath. It would be okay for me to have it on the death card, but the others I'd like more if there were faces.

Здравствуйте! Оригинальная колода очень хорошего качества! Карты легко мешаются и приятно лежат в руке. Коробочка простая, но элегантная. Белые рамки в жизни смотрятся очень эффектно. Извините, если ответила не в тему.

    • @Littlemissdirtbag

A borderless edition would take away from the images. The Creator purposely designed it with borders to make the images pop. Isn't anything good enough for anybody anymore? Can't just appreciate a deck for what it is and what it stands for. SMH....

It’s too twisted for my liking leaves you with a odd hollow uncomfortable feeling...
I don’t feel a good vibe from it...
Quite a depressing deck that will leave your vibes low...
I have to Maintain high vibes to manifest the good in my life and others too...
