Train is better than cars but the issue is our government doesn’t have enough funds to do this. Maharashtra, tamilnadu and Karnataka can do this but it would be very difficult for a state like kerala.it’s best we let these kind of heavy investments to central government same as railways, Kerala doesn’t have a state railway system what we have is a central railway system.
Don't look by what we don't have or what they have. We should look by how the transportation system is going to change after 10 years.
Currently technology is growing high pace. The changes is happening quickly. But K-Rail speed couldn't compete with current record speed. Example: The fastest train in operation is the Japanese MLX01 Maglev, with a record speed of 581 kilometers per hour.

What you have mentioned are personal mobility options. There will always be a space for public mass transit. If 100s of people are going from A to B why should they go in 10s of different cars when they can go in one large bus/ train. We absolutely need a high-speed rail network. Not K Rail which maxes out at 200kmph. We need something future proof.
Flying cars will take atleast a decade to come to public space and it will take more years to make it affordable. It might still needs a large area for takeoff and landing. Better cars is not the solution for solving transit its better public transport system.

@@UmerAbdussalam We have consider efficiency and time also. A high speed train can carry 100s of people at 300 kmph. An autonomous car can carry 4 or 5 people and has a legal speed limit on the road. Those cars cannot cruise at their theoretical maximum because there will still be human drivers on the road. And you need more cars on the road vs one train. If you want to travel from Kannur to TVM a high speed train, the train is a better solution. You must also consider traffic jams which will happen when there are too many cars.
I agree that initial investment for a high speed rail project is high. But it could move not just people but also goods as well.
Imagine if you could take a train to Bangalore from TVM. You could argue flight might be a better option. With all the waiting time and security checks that you need a high speed train makes some much sense. Remember that many countries are banning short haul flights in favour of high speed trains.
Rail tracks are public infrastructure. Just like roads. Only some of the roads have tolls. Rest all are paid by the taxpayers. Is Indian railways making enough money if you factor in all the costs that it took to lay down the tracks.
The point is Public Transport is the solution. It could be trains, maglevs, hyperloops or some other thing that could come up in the future.
I have discussed about that too in the video, there will be exponential changes in transportation, need for transportation etc, we cant assume it will happen only in one directions, in future need for long distance travel may dramatically decrease because of expansion of digital infrastructure, we need to factor in that too.

Dubai announced air taxi some 3-4 years back...not practical yet....we are talking about transporting a person from ksd to TVM,600kms with an approx cost of $20..even Uber for trips within Dubai is more than that.we as a country and citizen are not yet developed enough to share the cost of RnD.we are looking for the most financially viable solution.

@@UmerAbdussalam challenges of autonomous driving is way beyond our initial evaluations...even after 10 years of Tesla, autonomous driving is not approved yet in most of the roads...the amount of data required for such true automation is tremendous and yet might require another decade...we as Indians should be aware that we are not able to implement a trouble free signalling system after 75 years of independence...we should be aware about our limitations before we adopt any system...I am not saying Silver line with 180kmph is a viable solution...but definitely a better railway is needed within 10 years....
