What are the dosage recommendations for oral HCTZ?
Why no quizzes at the end of pharm vids? Those are really helpful to me. If nothing else, it gives me a false sense of assurance when I get em all right haha.
Thanks again!!
I made most of our Pharm videos before I had the idea for quizzes at the end of the videos… All of our future videos will include them though! :)
i had difficult time understanding if Hydrochlorothiazide is calcium sparing or calcium wasting. I think i heard somewhere befor that is was calcium sparing
I think it is calcium sparing!
Thank you Cathy.

Why to monitor eyes and nose plzzzz explain??????
she is saying I's and O's, which means intake and output. specifically fluids for intake and wastes for outputs. we want to keep track of this because if the amount of output is more than the amount of input the patient can become dehydrated quickly.
That is correct. Intake and Output needs to be monitored closely when a patient is on a diuretic. We need to monitor closely for fluid volume deficit or fluid volume overload. This also then goes hand and hand with monitoring electrolytes. If our intake and output are not balanced we may see electrolyte imbalances as well.
You are good teacher ❤👨⚕️
I am from India 🇮🇳
I am d pharm student 👨⚕️

Thank you for watching! ❤️
What is i's and o's
Patient intake (such as oral intake and IV fluids) and output (such as urine output).
Input/output
Why eyes and nose?
Intake and Output (Is and Os)
