    Hey man if you have the time it would be awesome if you did a whole series on how to do all trauma positions and tips and trips on shooting geriatric patients that are weak standing up. Like tips on trips on how to get a weak patient on the table more easily or comfortably. Thanks!!

      love the recommendation! Just have to find some time after hours. This is def a unique skill set. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself tho, as trauma positioning skills come with experience. Just seeing and understanding the angles.

      ooh you are both here. question to you both if possible. how do you determine, if you had to go up to do a mobile xray done to a patient at ICU, which patient factors or referral clinical notes determine that you should perform the patient CXR on the gurney supine, than having it done with the patient sitting up (usually not indicated to be done supine)? thanks

    • @TheRadiologicTechnologist
      @TheRadiologicTechnologist 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tonyhtran Hey Tony! In that situation, and I'm only speaking for myself, I would first default to the patient's condition and why it is being done. There might be a reason the patient needs to stay supine (post cath, still has a clamp on femoral, for example). Always check with the patient's nurse to ask these questions. Preferably, chest xrays are done upright to allow fluid to settle into the lung bases, among other things. But patients cannot always be sat upright. Bottom line, check with the nurse.

    As a retired radiographer, one trick for an AP Chest is to have the patient shrug their shoulders forward to bring the scapula off the chest. This will make it look more like a standard PA. My technique also stops the patient leaning backwards in inspiration which would make the chest look lordotic
