You just made a video significantly higher quality amd more useful than any one else on YT. Please keep it up. This is the ultimate Fox guide, hands down.
I appreciate that a lot! I've gotten a lot of positive feedback so it does give me some motivation to keep doing stuff like this. I do have another character breakdown in the works so be on the lookout for that in the coming months!
EDIT (12/23/2020): FOX DAIR WAS BUFFED (AND ALSO FAIR)! I will update the combo tree route document with the new combos. I will also try to do a video in the coming days talking about his changes and what they mean for the character. I still want to test more of it out myself
@@JackJohnson-gq7ny You can but it's a bit harder with it and you wont have the ability to perform a couple other techniques of attack canceling. I play with smash attack so I dont really use it much since I just RAR bair normally. I have the video for attack canceling in the description and there are other videos on the topic that people have made
smash stick > tilt stick Great guide man. I was actually in the middle of making one myself, but this covers just about everything I wanted to cover aside from some niche hyper specific stuff.
I really love how detailed you are in your videos. My question are on the abbreviations i, ll, ac, faf as I'm still learning haha Oh and last thing would just lowering the music a bit to make it easier to hear all in all I really appreciate this video as a fox main
I appreciate it and my bad on the abbreviations lol. Ima put them in the description but I'll list them for you here: "i" - The speed of the move "LL" - Landing lag frames "AC" - Auto cancel "FAF" - First actionable frame Also, thanks for the heads up on the music volume. I'll be aware of that in future videos I do
I'm loving this content, man. Please keep at it! I could hear you pretty well, but I agree with the other commenter who said to lower the music volume. There could be certain people who would have trouble hearing you. In general though, just keep going, you're doing something awesome with this channel and I wanna see where you take it in the future. I subscribed before I was halfway through the video because I could tell it was quality. Cheers
I appreciate that a lot. I want to keep doing videos like this to possibly expand my channel but I just havent had the time as of late due to school. I am glad this has gotten plenty of positive feedback because it gives me confidence to do something like this for another character. Also, thanks for the critique when it comes to the sound. I wasnt sure if some people had trouble hearing me or not so it does tell me to adjust the volume levels a bit next time I do another video
Thanks a lot! For attack cancel, it doesnt make or break Fox imo so I feel like it's just personal preference. I play smash stick cuz I like having c-stick up smash for the nair confirm and as an immediate oos option. I also can do RAR bair pretty well to where I personally dont need attack cancel
Thank you! I'm working on a video for another character that goes into detail similar to this one so be ready for that in the coming months For which one is better between smash and tilt stick, I personally play with smash stick since I like doing up smash oos instantly but both have their pros and cons
@@phenom4630 thx, I'm gonna stay tuned then :D for tilts or smash, I'm in some sort of a limbo, i often stick with one or the other, but recently I'm trying to use smash stick, fox has more advantages imho
Yo to my fellow fox players one tip I have is to watch videos on C-Stick fast falling. It can help immensely with his drag downs fairs. The trick is to learn when to use the c stick fast fall as the height and when you start your fair changes the window when fast falling will work. Best of luck!
you should have went into more detail about game states ik this was a break down on how to use move and things to think about but it would help to have more info on game states and what not. still a great breakdown of his kit and combos.i recommend you post a link to the fox discord
Maybe make a guide on edgeguarding and recovering. People really underrate the fact that fox's nair lasts 20 whole frames. Other than that a complete shine guide and a guide on playing defensively to avoid getting robbed at 10% (I'm joking but you know what I mean). Finally a guide on getting used to fox's movement options, because I just played him without using training mode for a few months and it took me way too long to learn his movement. Like a training mode guide is what a meant for his movement options btw. It would probably include some stuff like dash dancing and microspacing.
A ledge trapping/edgeguarding guide is something I could probably go in depth with in a future video. Even though I did explain some in this video, there are definitely a bit more layers to it Playing defensive can be more of a general thing and a lot characters can get robbed at low percent anyway There are already a few movement videos for him out there iirc so I dont want to take away from other people. If I get more requests for me specifically to do one then I wouldn't mind
@@shankarsubramani810 Ah ok, didnt get what you were saying at first. I honestly dont spend endless hours in training mode like that but I guess I could probably do a future video on demonstrations for things like that as you said
Most of Steve's moves are based off of projectiles so Shine can be used on them. I've used Shine to KO Steve at high percentage while he is using Dair, because his anvil is a projectile. I know this is useful info now because he just came out, and mostly everyone online is playing as him.
Hey this is really random but your going up against me tomorrow for the smash world tour. I’ve never done an online tournament so I was wondering if you knew anything about the lag testing required? How do I provide proof of LAN? Sorry again for how random this is lol I just don’t wanna hold anything up tomorrow.
I've only competed in one online event and that was a long while back so I'm not sure how it exactly works. I think its just definitely recommended to have one cuz you will get lag tested if someone suspects you of not having one
hey about rapid jab in corner on block after 11 straight hits onblock you can roll out invincibly i think you showed what im talking about but didnt say it

Thank you and I should have them done by tomorrow!
This video is amazing, is one of the most useful ones about fox, is a very good breakdown.
This is the best fox video ever out there.😊
i said it before and i'll say it again, this is a phenomenal Fox guide, honestly the best i have seen for Smash ultimate
This video was super helpful!
You just got one more subscriber! ❤️
smash stick > tilt stick

No problem and glad it could help!

This is a fantastic and very comprehensive Fox guide. The best one out there, to my understanding. Thanks a lot for this. You got a new sub.

great informative video. love the tracks and editing as well!
very good explained video, thank you.

You just hope the Steve messes up unfortunately :(. There's no way for Fox to get out of it atm
Fox doing the Naruto run since 64
Great video man - only critique is the music is a little too loud
still gets a like from me!
Thanks man and I appreciate the criticism! I'll definitely keep that in mind for the next video I do like this
the one dislike was from wolf
fox sux, great guide!
You right, he does suck (sometimes lol). Also, thanks for the feedback!
