I was confused by batman too. Why is a man in an bat animal costume fighting a clown, and it's supposed to be dark and brooding? Why is his nemesis a clown anyway? What is that trying to say? It's just something that sem-randomly came out of kids Halloween themed detective comics almost a century ago.
I can totally understand why people like it as a franchise, nothing wrong with escapism, but I've had way too many edgy young dudes try and convince me that it's era-defining high art, that I just don't get

The Batman did get it right. That scene at the start where Batman goes to the crime scene with all the other police officers seems to show an awareness of how goofy and weird Batman really is as his presence seems offish there.

It's just not really been done properly apart from Ben Affleck then they turned him into the joke, batmans supposed to be massive and fights in the shadows so he's a terrifying monster, getting midgets to play him is a bad move

Yeah I've been holding this in Dark knight just ain't Batman enough. It's Christopher Nolan, sure it's a good movie, but it's ridiculous as Batman. Comics are just better, and or animated. New batman is better, would be excited for next one.

Comic book logic has its own rules it's not meant to play by real world rules, same goes for anime. Not that Im defending super hero's the message has been lost entirely it was meant to be social commentary of the male superego but it's literally become what it was trying to take the piss outta

Serious Batman is the worst type of Batman. When people try to make something as daft as Batman pure “realistic”, they have to get rid of so much of what makes Batman iconic.
The Batman was a fantastic portrayal of Batman, more closely to the Arkham series.
And riddler was so f'ing good man. Been itching for a dark riddler to hit film batman for so long (jim carrey's is an abomination, though I do love jim lol)

I mean that’s a huge part of his character. He’s extremely cautious, he’s not going to fight someone he knows he can’t defeat or subdue. He’s also the worlds greatest detective so that’s a big factor

I think simple minds make fun of the voice of batman but it does work to some extent Christian bales batman worked because then most of the movie would crumble
