I think that for the beginning of the game, Hyrule Castle will be explorable. I predict it would be under reconstruction, with teams of Hylians and Shiekah making repairs, excavating valuables, and clearing out any monsters that may remain. At some point, Link and Zelda will find a secret passage that will lead them to Ganondorf. After his awakening, the castle will rise, and those who couldn't escape will either become prisoners or worse, turned into monsters.

Since the great plateau was designed to mirror Hyrule castle, I'm wondering if the "tutorial" section of BOTW 2 will take place in Hyrule castle during its reconstruction, it would be a cool nod to that fact and can be limited in certain ways so that the player doesn't get too adventurous, imagine blocked off areas where construction is in place where it was once accessible in BOTW 1.

    • @elitegamer9310
      @elitegamer9310 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@themushroominside6540 I was thinking that the tutorial would be a training session with Zelda. Similar to the tutorial of TP. I imagine that, after Link gets this "Zonai hand", we will have a tutorial on it with us using its powers to escape.

Everybody assumes that the castle raises AFTER ganondorf wakes on the trailer. But here is an idea. Since Nintendo made us play trailer in reverse for a hidden message and the entire music in trailer plays like it's reversed - I bet that the game begins with the castle raising itself first and THEN Zelda and Link decide to go underneath it to discover a bunch of corridors undeground and only then they find remains of ganondorf

Nah, I don’t think so. In the trailer you can see an entrance of a cavern. Also you can see legs coming out of the ground when the castle was rising. I think that the castle rises after Ganondorf awakens and that it is another defensive system of the castle made by the Sheikah like the 5 columns around the castle.

"That is, unless, Ganondorf is bringing the castle to space"
Or perhaps... bringing the castle to the Moon? The Moon and Ganondorf are clearly connected in BotW, his power being cited as at its fullest when the Blood Moon rises. Bringing a floating castle to the Moon would be a massive strategic advantage for the King of Evil, allowing him to siphon power from the Blood Moon as well as keep far away from Link and Zelda while unfolding his master plan.

To be honest, I kinda want a new place entirely, where Hyrule Castle used to be. Then you are met with the fact that this was a decoy, and either a) the whole place collapses, and Hyrule castle falls from above or something or b) somehow you are able to access Hyrule castle, which is way up in space. Ngl, we’ve been seeing Hyrule castle in the middle of the map since forever and even through it _is_ an iconic place, I feel they should spice things up a bit.

It would probably be better if it had different powers instead, to distinguish the game from its predecessor. Also, just think about this: that hand has the same glow as the ghosts of the champions and king, implying that this new power is tied to the dead. Now imagine traversing Hyrule, encountering the fallen spirits of fellow knights lost to the calamity, ancient sages and gurus who've mastered various now forgotten magics, and just for the sake of it, the heroes of previous games, giving us the ultimate skillset, acquired from those lost to time and ready to be avenged.

Hyrule Castle in Breath of the Wild is much more than just a Final Dungeon, it's intended and encourages you to visit it multiple times before you are ready to face Calamity Ganon. Each time you visit you can take different routes to different areas and get better items and so on. I don't get why people keep trying to fit Breath of the Wild into a box, and try to play it like the older 3D titles, and assume that the sequel will go back to how the original 3D games played and progressed, it won't! Especially after Breath of the Wild has now sold over 20 million units, including sales from Wii U. The only thing about the sequel that is certain to me is that Breath of the Wilds Hyrule Castle is the future template of how Dungeons will work in new Zelda games, open ended with multiple routes and goals, and the concept will evolve and get better with time. Hyrule Castle in BotW is quite literally the future of Dungeon design going forward for the Legend of Zelda series.

I feel that having “guardian” legs to lift the castle wouldn’t work out, mostly because, with normal guardians as well, the legs are relatively weak and provide an easy way to defeat it. What I feel would be a better approach is to have the 5 pillars as a means of transportation. Need to fly? They turn to propellers. Need to crawl/walk? Crab legs. Maybe this is the way that we get an underwater dungeon type area, if the castle keeps moving and changing due to the pillars, which seem much more fitting considering Wild Ganons abilities. Also, I would love to see all the old and possibly new Links brought together, with an elaboration on the spirit part of the hero, and maybe bring in that other hero’s could have existed WITH the spirit in them, but they aren’t named Link. The spirits name isn’t Link.

The ancient hero is Ganondorf; well he was at least the Gerudo male born 10,000 years ago.
    Which we will call Ganondorf.
This one knowing of the history of past Ganondorfs curse; denies Demise possessing him by drawing the Master Sword 10,000 years ago, and by doing this prevents the Curse of Demise possessing him.
The result of this however is Demise is unleashed as Calamity Ganon.
Ganondorf being the leader of the Gerudo as well as Sheika (which is why he appears as a mummified monk like the Sheika in BoTW trailer) Master Sword in hand, goes to Hyrule to show Zelda and the King the sword has chosen him as the Hero.
Also I point on the ancient story depicted in Impas story; not only is the hero’s hair red; but all the Guardians have red bodies with black legs; just like the Guardians in the game being controlled by Ganon. It suggest they were had the red look same as when they turned on Hyrule 10,000 year later. Controlled thru Ganondorfs magic, 10,000 years prior as well.
Having the master sword also allows him to have the Triforce of Courage; further verifying him as the ancient hero in the eyes of Hyrule Royalty.
Zelda has Wisdom, Ganondorf Courage and the Master Sword, and an unknown Zonai had the Triforce of Power.
(The Zonai part is not required, but I’m running it with it; they are part of this. But let’s say this is Links ancestor, and because of what Ganondorfs does. The Triforce of Power chose Links ancestor as the result of his bloodline. As Triforce always chooses amongst these 3 bloodlines.)
This means Ganondorf also thru the Sheika made all the Guardians and probably (especially if he did this not to be the hero but to subvert the hero’s return, meaning he was still scheming like he always does) the shrine of resurrection meant for the hero (Him) to be able to return essentially immortal. (But this isn’t known to the Hyrule Royals)
Together Zelda and Ganondorf defeat Calamity Ganon sealing him away again. 😉
Once this is done, Ganon and Zelda are praised, but there is a problem. The Zonai, always seen as Barbarians are growing in Power due to the Triforce of Power being held by their leader.
Ganon, as the Hero volunteers him and his Guardian Army to defeat him. And he does cutting off his arm which held the Triforce of power and leaving him for dead, he also wipes out all the Zonai people.
When he does this, he obtains the Triforce of Power.
Now having both the Triforce of Courage and Power and the Guardian Army; Hyrule, Zelda, and the King are alarmed. As are the Sheika and the Gerudo too.
So the Sheika, Zelda, the King, Hyrule and Gerudo plot...
The Sheikas involvement would eventually lead to the Yiga breaking away after the events about to occur.
Ganondorf returns to Hyrule, whether in truth or deceit; and is deceived into going to a deep carvern beneath Hyrule Castle.
Hear, he discovers that the Zonai leader though defeated and losing the Triforce of Power somehow survived and returned to Hyrule telling Hyrule what Ganondorf did and how he wiped out the Zonai and planned to do the same with Hyrule.
There is a battle, and with Zelda and the Sheikas help; he is able to use Zonai magic they are able to mummify, seal, and bind Ganondorf in such a way that like the Sheika Monks he is not dead, because he no longer has the Master Sword Demise returned in him but Zelda deal him, and the Zonai Leader used his Magic and bound his body but his magic arm to do so.
Doing this, they hoped to break the 100 year cycle of Gerudo males being reborn, something the Gerudo themselves suggested they needed to do.
This works, as for 10,000 years no more males are born. Also the King fearing the Sheika tech; demands they bury everything.
They do; but they come up with a plan to test the future hero believing this is not a permanent fix; and not wanting to to repeat the same mistake as allowing for a false hero to rise. Considering the it was possible for the Master Sword can be wielded by a false hero.
The Triforce, all 3 parts is taking by the royal family and passed down thru the daughters born into the family; so that a Zelda always wields it. Which is why she had all 3 pieces in BoTW.
10,000 this warning coming via prophecy that Calamity Ganon is returning; though I suspect duplicity thru some unknown force. Maybe the Yiga, the purpose being to dig up the Guardians as part of Ganondorfs plot, because of course this was his army 10,000 years ago naturally it would be easy for him to take over again. Which was part of the reason it was buried in the first place; but after 10,000 this is forgotten by the Royals.
Somehow; Zeldas mother is involved in the release of Calamity Ganon 10,000 years later either as victim or attempting to stop it fearing the prophecy attempts to seal it again; or maybe much darker actually involved in his release. Either way this leads to her death; or in darker possibility the believe she died.
Though I think kidnapped by Yiga and sacrificed is a possibility; to release Calamity Ganon.
All of this; is part of Ganondorfs plan which builds up to what will happen in BoTW 2; needing whatever the Zonai Leader did with that hand magic to be removed to return like the Sheika Monks do, as well as with Demise in full possession of him.
    Anyways food for thought...

These ideas and the theories are great! Thanks for taking the time out to create thoughtful and creatively appealing content and congratulations to your 250,000 subscription status.
My thoughts for this would definitely vision a floating castle, but where you mentioned the waterfalls disappearing, I would like to see "Malice Falls" instead... This way, this would become those obstacles you mention and also be a great idea to bring back some of the OG Zelda villains, such as those infamous "Wallmaster" hands that would grab you in the dungeons and take you back to the beginning entrance... But with these hands, they would come outta the Malice itself trying to grab link and toss him from wherever he tries to climb and so forth... This also brought my idea to the attention of instead of having the Malice just sit there and ooze in places, why not have an aggressive form of the Malice with creatures jumping and climbing out of it that Link has to fight..?
I'd also like to see the return of IRONKNUCKLE and the Darknuts. Maybe have IRONKNUCKLE be a type of boss who governs over many other versions of Darknuts (Red, blue, green armored etc.) who are flooded throughout the castle and even other areas throughout Hyrule... With Ganondorf taking over the castle, the knights seen in the normal version of Hyrule castle standing as regular statues would be replaced with Darknut Statues that come alive as Link travels throughout the castle; giving the game its dark theme it deserves.
I mention the Darknuts and IRONKNUCKLE due to the marketing that's gonna take place that can really have potential to sell this new Zelda game strategically... 360. Using Amiibos as that strategy to create IRONKNUCKLE and Darknut Amiibos that would also have the potential for Link and Zelda (if playable) to wear special knight armor that has special capabilities to either be worn for use throughout the game, or for other unique usage, such as the mysterious online aspect of the games features that weren't really mentioned much.
Since this is going to be a "dark" Game, I feel it's only right to have "Dark"nuts featured and exclusively brought back as a collectable item. Along with other veteran OG Zelda villains. I always thought the Wizrobes would have been a great villain for Link to face due to how the use of the Magic Wand was used in some of the earlier versions of Zelda. Since magic might be a special feature for this game (with Link's Green arm), It would truly be dope to also see a proper return of the Wizrobe or perhaps, a Wizrobe King who Link would have to face in the next series of the Zelda game... I don't think Nintendo gave the Wizrobes proper shine in BOTW and in the earlier versions of Zelda games. The one game I felt they gave them shine was in Link's Adventure as an entire dungeon was dedicated to fighting Wizrobes and a Wizrobe Boss/King... Again, keeping the dark theme in regards.
Those villains would make some nice Amiibo ideas, I'm pretty sure Nintendo can see a return on... Easily

The fact that there are so many different ways to the goal adds so much to the replay value of the castle. Making the next version linear would be a big mistake.

  • @Gunnberg85

I have a theory if anyone here will humor it: Hyrule castle won't walk. It's going to fly.
At some point in time, Ganondorf was defeated and captured. Due to his immense hatred, malice began to form. Through cooperative effort, the Zonai were adept at cleansing and manipulating this spiritual energy, while the Sheika were able to harness and focus the energy, utilizing it to create their technology.
I'm theorising that at some point both the Royal Family and the Sheika wanted to find Skyloft. The Zonai, being much more religious, saw this as an affront against the goddesses and rebelled. During this time, they may have attempted to free Ganondorf in order to stop the flow of energy, but were ultimately defeated and cast out from the kingdom. With the Zonai now out of the way, the Sheika set to task to either turn the castle into a ship to find Skyloft, or for it to become the new version of Skyloft itself. A sort of 'getting closer to God' type of quest. However plans were halted when it was discovered the Zonai had one last card to play. Even the Zonai knew that completely freeing Ganondorf was a dangerous idea, so they allowed a malice buildup to form every 10000 years. Calamity Ganon was born. Efforts were redirected from the castle to creating the mechanised army and Divine Beasts to confront the Calamity when it appears.
It may have been during the final confrontation that a piece of the Calamity hit a Guardian and corrupted it. The discovery led to the order to bury all purified malice powered devices out of fear that they could be used against the people of Hyrule. The machines couldn't be easily or quickly destroyed, so the decision was to erase their existence and purpose from memory. Thousands of years passing aided in this effort.
Fast forward to BotW, and the machines are rediscovered. Both prophecies and historical records speak to the coming of the Calamity once more. In a desperate attempt to defend Hyrule, and despite the King's personal apprehension, the Sheika were put to task in reverse engineering these war machines. Little did they know just how adept the Calamity had become in seizing control of the machines, much less that it had planned to do just that once it had reformed.
Now we see BotW2. Zelda discovers that there's a source to the Calamity and she takes Link to help find it. The mummified husk of Ganondorf is found, Zonai magic still drawing malice from him, though to a much weaker degree. The passage of time and the near extinction of the Zonai saw to that.
Link breaks the hold the Zonai magic has on Ganondorf, and the evil king awakens. His mission is pure and simple. Tens of thousands of years of hatred has him bent towards one goal: destroy everyone and everything. To accomplish this, the seeks the use of the castle. Using the malice over the years as his eyes and ears, he discovered that the castle was not only able to fly, but was also a weapon of incredible power. (See movie: Castle in the Sky). In a concentrated burst, he uses his malice to supercharge the mechanisms to power the castle, lurching it to life. At some point Link and Zelda were ejected from it. Now stuck on the ground, with the castle in the air, Link and Zelda must find a way to bring the castle down to face Ganondorf once and for all. They travel the land of Hyrule recruiting the descendants of the champions to power and control the Divine Beasts to shoot down the castle.
That's all I have so far, and there are plenty of deviations that I could make within this little story. For instance, there could be a timetable made where the castle will systematically destroy parts of Hyrule if you do not shoot it down fast enough. A sub quest could be added for finding ancient codes. These codes could be used to unlock a sort of shield mechanism in each of the towers, protecting regions of Hyrule from the castle.
    Thoughts?

I do remember that Hyrule Castle has a Shrine in the northern mine area. What I'm trying to think is that most, if not all Zelda theory channels tend to ignore that, and that they're teletransportation spots, so either a) the team making the Zelda has to make the castle leave its mine area behind, or b) deactivate the shrines teletransportation spot somehow so we have to go from point a to point b on foot or horse. Also, no ones talking that the shrines would probably be inaccessible inside because that was the hype in the original BotW, or just another ruin, like in the flashbacks. I think that this game either will be like Destiny 2, that you can transfer you stuff from the first game, or that it'll be forcing gamers to visit the shrines, if they don't have the first game data in their Switch. Just my two cents. Thanks for this video, liked it!

If we're going with a floating castle then I think the ceremonial room in the memories will serve as a hub and the rest of the castle will be turned into explore-able dungeons.
If the castle is just significantly raised, but still on the ground then I think the entire castle will be the hub and then you travel underground for the dungeons and the world will have different underground entrances that all eventually link back up to the castle

There could be dungeons and challenges down there that help link gear up against the final battle with ganondorf. Assuming that takes place beneath the castle itself, then perhaps the green energy hurts Link so he and Zelda have to flee or stay put as the castle moves away without them. It could be one of those “symphony of the night/Metroid” stories where link will be rendered too weak to go after Ganon immediately.

Because if he is left handed due to the glowing right hand then if we apply the logic that he can’t use a sword in his right then he shouldn’t be able to use a shield in his right either.
