Just let the water labyrinth actually...have water? And swimming? Swim fighting?
Oracle of Ages with the mermaid suit was the only one that came close for me, although Lakebed Temple came very, very close. (I haven’t gotten to the Zora Level in MM yet to compare it.)
...I was honestly disappointed by the Ancient Cistern-you get a Swimming Mechanic for this section of the game, but you only use it in a handful of rooms within AC and to get to the water dragon. (And that mechanic is a nightmare for hand disabilities...so maybe a silver lining?)
But...for a game called Skyward Sword, the Sky’s pretty empty and there’s not really anything to do with your loftwing. A shame, given the signature gimmick was getting to fly on a giant bird. (At the time I was hoping for Red to get similar love that Epona got in TP)
Have you seen the giant fish skeletons that Lizalfos use to build their camps. I would love to fight those things underwater!!

Unless it's in master mode, I've finally beat all guardians don't know how but beat them in master mode,then what was even harder was beating the DLC until master monk kosha I believe I still can't beat him in master mode. Did in normal but not master so,I'd rather leave monsters in the water alone.

I glitched underwater in botw once. The coral reefs were colorful and detailed, but why would nintendo detail them so much if they didn't intend on us seeing them?

@@robuxyyyyyyyyyy4708 I somehow clipped under a dock at lurelin village while swimming with the zora helmet, and since the dock was above link, he was submerged completely underwater. I had a view of everything underwater, but I couldn't explore because if i swam out from under the dock the game put me back to the surface.

That is something that's actually a really cool idea. Its stuff like this that can really pump up the story for this next game and make it very grand like no other Zelda.

Yea he revives and takes control of the Leviathans minds, then you go and free the Leviathans, through dungeons, and defeating the boss would grant the thing to break the curse, them they do something to progress story

Aside from exploring the sea, I would LOVE explore the depths of Skull Lake. All those giant purple underwater flowers? I can imagine what an amazing underwater forest that would be!
imagin a side quest where the zora have noticed something weird with the sea or the area where you fight ruta. so you go and dive under and its a cinimatic where you come face to face with jabu jabu or one of the leviathans

His Moronic Majesty’s decision to lock Tetra in Hyrule...that’s only accessible from then on with a completed Triforce Piece so Ganondorf had a key...with the Tower of the Gods making it the most obvious place ever...literally doomed her to be inevitably abducted when she and her ancestors were doing Just Fine evading Ganondorf with a mobile ship. IF he truly was oh-so-concerned about (the Triforce of Wisdom) ...er...Zelda’s safety, then Tetra would’ve been safest next to Link and helped with escorting the New Sages to get the Master Sword working again. Not like she can’t hold her own in a fight.
(And the Triforce of Courage is completely unnecessary to defeating Ganondorf. All that’s needed is a Sacred Blade (doesn’t even always need to be the Master Sword...apparently...as the Foursword will do), or Sacred Arrows if a Blade’s unavailable (Silver originally, later Light)
So other than for That Cutscene, the entire reconfrontation could’ve taken place above the waves...as Forsaken Fortress is only abandoned AFTER Tetra’s locked in Old Hyrule (with the only place she could go being Tower of the Gods and surviving off of roasted Rat, Bat, and Chu. Assuming she figured out how to blast a sealing statue from the inside that’s child’s play for Ganondorf)

This is something amazaing I'd love to see in the sequel - more sea exploration. Both over seas and deeps. However, there's been another question popping around my head for a long time - what is beyond the Gerudo desert? The Gerudo desert is the only main land attachment to the edge of the map and I've always wondered whether the expanses of the Gerudo desert were thriving with towns or a barren, destroyed wasteland, like in the movie series 'Divergent'.
Yeah. All the other parts of Hyrule are blocked by sea. The Gerudo could go on to another continent or landmass beyond. Same thing with the sea. I wish we could explore what is beyond Hyrule and its direct neighbors eventually. Because everyone should be considered threatened by Ganon and his ilk. He is a world danger. So it would be cool to see Link travel somewhere else to fight him or something. At least see a different civilization
For what we can see when we get in the gerudo highlands it seems that the gerudo desert is actually limited by the sea

I believe the land of Labrynna is beyond the desert. Holodrum is the one to the north of Rito Village across the huge canyon!

The lack of underwater areas in BotW was my biggest disappointment with the game. It's literally the only console title (besides Wind Waker oddly enough) that didn't allow you to dive and explore underwater. It's such a missed opportunity.
Imagine exploring not just underwater but the deep ocean of Hyrule. Encountering deep sea marine life and ecosystems well below the surface.

It would be interesting if we got the iron boots again, or a swimming g suit, to have multiple underwater electric or water dungeons. Or, we could even get new divine beasts ganondorf takes over, unknown and underwater animals.

I remember when I got the game one of the first things I did was sail out to the world boarder. Found 2 distant islands on the horizon and took a selfie with them. This was with the Wii U version.
You can actually go there if you manage to glitch past the invisible wall. Nothing much to see though, but still cool you can reach them
I mean when botw was first shown I really thought link would be able to swim underwater
In skywardsword, the woods at one point gets entirely flooded. Swimming and underwater spinning felt so nice while having the whole area flooded.
In the concept art, there were more devine beasts, one of them being a giant crab!

The first time I discovered eventide island is my favorite memory from BOTW, I saw a group of bokogoblins and landed my boat right next to them and immediately jumped into them, only to be immediately stripped naked and weaponless, stuck in the middle of them haha

Am i the only one who senses that the day and night time is a bit fast compared to GTA games?
I mean when you play GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2 or even METAL GEAR SOLID V THE PHANTOM PAIN. you get to experience a good amount of day time and night time. But BOTW the day and night time cycle is FAST compared to these games. I believe BOTW 2 needs to slow it down a bit. A 60 minutes for a day and night would be a good choice.
I'm not asking for an animal crossing experience but dang let me enjoy the day time and night time without a crazy rush!!!!

my favorite part in the game was hunting Dragons! My favorite fun Side Quest in any game.
i think there might be entrances to caves and caverns beneath some of the lakes and rivers in Hyrule. we saw caves in the teaser trailer, and i’ve noticed that there are many strangely deep spots in some of the bodies of water- like the waters north of Mekar island, or Lake Aquame around the Coliseum, or that weird little deep spot west of Zauz Island in the Lanayru Wetlands. if BotW 2 introduced underwater traversal, that could easily add underground areas to the map without needing to modify the overworld much.
I kinda got excited when I heard that you can explore the seas and islands in the first game , but my excitement ended shortly after when I heard that you can only go to Eventide island , I wish the sequel has underwater exploration , with underwater dungeons too and a whole ocean to explore with tons of islands .
5:09 off topic but you can actually reach those islands by glitching under the invisible wall and coming out the other side. The islands obviously don't have much on them but it's still cool you can reach them

What a great dreamy video. I would love to see underwater shrines/temples and sail boats. Maybe we catch fish and treasures with a fishing net or a fishing rod. Exploring the deep sea with a new suit would be awesome. Im scared of underwater creatures but it would be awesome to be able to fight them. Also collecting someting similar to the korok seeds, I know they are so much already but it would be fun. So much can be done by expanding the sea explorations.

Totally agree. I can't state how infuriated I got on the Raft, we need better modes of transportation in the seaside. As a Norwegian I was shocked of how disappointing the sea was compared to the rest of organic Hyrule!

So about eventide, I’d like to see eventide become a small settlement by the time that the sequel comes out, could you imagine a small island community like the fishing one but it’s perhaps even more tribal then them, or perhaps have it the complete opposite and have them more militaristic, so they begin building or have built a sea fort on even tide.
That would be cool but it's rather small. Would they survive? I like the idea. I just don't know how it could work. 🤔

wind waker was amazing, but many of the islands were very limited in terms of what you could do and explore. But with a much more powerful console, I think Nintendo can flesh out the ocean and islands to give a really great marine experience

If you accept the fact that Lurelin denizens are descendants of the Zonai Tribe, then during the game you do obtain armor that has ties with the village (like other villages in Breath): The Barbarian gear set.
People loved the sailing in Wind Waker so much that when the final trial to collect the triforce involved a lot of island hopping and sailing many just stopped playing the game.
I’d love the option of sailing in more interconnected and separate waterways in addition to the oceans and seas that already exist along the coastline from the original BOTW! Lakes, rivers, ponds, canals etc! Oh and how fun would it be to ride or swim with adorable and friendly dolphins! And I want to see fishing make a return in the sequel too! Underwater exploration would also be dope! All of your ideas are great too guys!

Or even warships like the ones from Wind Waker. They made marine combat rather interesting and I hope marine combat will expand.

If there is a more advanced armor upgrading system as it's been speculated. Imagine if there is an underwater set that would work similar to the Zora Tunic and Iron boots which allows you to walk underwater. Which could then be combined with the Zora armor to allow for underwater swimming.
I hope that dying clothes will remain. We all have our different color preferences.

I find it hilarious that we went from “THIS MAP IS TOTALLY AND IMPOSSIBLY HUGE!!!!” to three years later looking back on a distance that’s the size of Ocarina of Time’s Hyrule Field and saying, “I’m barely off of the coast! Wow, what a ‘Great’ Sea!”
As a person whose maternal ancestors include people from the Denmark/Germany border I have to agree. I feel like the seas were too empty.

I think a hookshot would be to op but it would be a really nice idea, omg, I have an idea for a new armor in botw2! An armor that doesn't make you slip if your climbing in the rain.

My opinion on best updates:
If you could save what you put in your house, like say if you took a cart all the way over there and put it inside and saved your game it would always show up in there.
If you could organize your inventory and put the outfits in order so they aren’t all mixed together. Also if you had the option to put link wolf away from amiibo and only have him out when you need him would be convenient.
You can already sort you inventory, you just need to press Y.
Imagine if we got a mission underwater and there we find a Zora village, but that green more primal zoras? And what if at first they were aggressive, and maybe after a certain mission you can enter the village?

Wind sailing on real boats and ocean wave simulations, would be such an excellent addition to the game mechanics. ⛵🌊

there has to be more beyond the Necluda sea, etc.
What. If. there was a mechanic where you have to go to the top of Eventide and call The Last Leviathan, awakened with the destruction of the Calamity, who would take you to those distant isles, where you'd find the entrance to a Water Temple or something, meet up with the Sea Zora, who'd take your arrival as a dire, yet sacred portent, or possibly another race (sentient Seagulls? Kikwi? Deku Palms?)
Perhaaaaaaps if there's a way to get that one chest if we can dive, too :P
But I have to say, if there's a ghost/spirit mechanic, shipwrecks and flooded cities will be my absolute nightmare. The scare Farosh gave me in Lake Hylia my first playthrough (yeeted me into the air and electrocuted me to death by mistake) was enough thanks lol. Don't need any Poes a la TP or waterlogged ReDeads dragging me to a watery grave while I'm taking a dip. (I'll still play it even if they do...)

No other *3D* Zelda had sea areas. But a couple of the 2D ones did! What about the Tokay from Labrynna in Oracle of Ages? Or those mysterious talking animal folk from Link's Awakening (who may or may not have been real)
I am pretty sure that BotW2 will not use the normal BotW map, but it would definitely be cool to have a more fleshed out water environment in BotW2.
There's a huge role of the ocean and ocean Zoras in Oracle of Ages. I know that's not a console game, but I'd love to see how the Labrynna Sea(?) Zoras and Tokay creatures can play into BOTW2
Since the castle rises up in the sky in the trailer, I thought it might turn to be more sky battle-ish. The castle flying all across Hyrule bringing phenomenas with it in the concerned locations, leviathans (or whatever they were called) turned back from the dead and swimming in the sky. On the flip side we'd have hyrule's underground fitting to the trailers setting, unlocking things to get new dungeons/island rise into the sky as well, for them to be explored.
If they give me a literal fishing rod I'm going to be pissed.
Make that into a magic thing that instantly scopes fish.

in the hateno tech lab there is something that hangs from the cieling that some people felt was the early working on a divine beast for water travel. maybe we could use that?
I really hope there are massive dungeons bigger than oot and twilights dungeons that take hours to beat

If they add more boats we need to be able to load horses onto them for travel. Sure warping and getting them through a stable where you want to go is faster, but I might want to take a horse down from Faron up to tarry town by boat. Also maybe have some rivers coming from the sea that stretch across the land for slightly faster boat travel then going around the entire world just to get to Rito village
Honestly, I think it'd be really cool to see all of this. But 100 years in the past, when Hyrule was at it's prime. Maybe with the ability to travel back and forth between two separate points in time, like Ocarina?
I have a huge list of ideas for botw's sequal but the question is, is the switch able to handle a much bigger and more crowded hyrule...
A revisit to Holidrum and Lubrina would be great.
I like the idea, I really do. The issue is if Breath of the Wild 2 is gonna add more water features then they'll have to either make the map bigger by extending it out eat and south towards the oceans or make the original maps georgphary change drastically through some catalymisphic event to justify why theres so many new water features where once they were limited. I like the idea but as to how they'll go about it is the issue of contention.

one idea for a boat could be a pirate ship you could also implemented ship combat with enemy ships and there could be some reference to Petra from windwaker in the ships design
Or a motorboat rune to make marine travel efficient.
