Can you do this with CM11? I tried it with CM11 installed and got a soft brick out of it. I have it working again but was wondering if I did something wrong?
I just got over 23000 of quadrant without overclocking !! Just add Nova Launcher and put it as default. Before Nova Launcher, I think I got some around 19000.
So i know this is an old video but i'm clutching at straws here. I followed your videos in a bit of a reverse order and managed to get both CM13 and GAAPs working just fine. I then went to install this kernel and now my device wont turn on (i saw "kitkat" pop up last minute so i'm assuming that's why?) Any advice would be much appreciated! Regards, Ross

+Kirk Chapman luckily yes, I found the original kernel online and reinstalled it using odin. From here I could then get back onto recovery, reinstall TWRP and then restore my original backup. Let me know how you come on

I ended up holding the volume up and power button for what I swear was a full minute and suddenly Recovery/Odin mode started and I was able to get into TWRP and totally restore to back to default (which I backed-up) then flash CM13 and Google apps again. I should know not to mess with the kernel at this point in my Android history!! It seems to always go wrong. Thanks a ton for the help and quick response mate. For those that stumble upon this DO NOT FLASH THIS KERNEL ON CM13.

Lol tomato, if your phone is truly bricked. Won't turn on\boot ed LED when plugged into computer. Send to Samsung and play dumb, chances are they will issue a replacement instead of bothering to get it working to check the problem. Ther is a JTag and unbricking service I can't remember what its called, put in TH-cam 'Galaxy S4 JTag repair' and you will see their videos. You send of to them and they send back good as new. I've never had to use them but these guys are awesome, they know there stuff. Will cost about $60/£50.

mikey webb well what it boils down to is this. are you happy with stock if so then leave it. and if you really like to tinker and arent afraid to mess it up then hack it. thats it there isnt that much difference. but it is really fun to make the device your own. :-)

+Rach3rock3 you didnt do anything wrong. CM11 is already using a custom kernal. This custom kernal can only be used with the normal samsung stock os

I really cant tell much of a difference myself. its more of a cool thing and fun to play around with
