Check out my Dragon Prince podcast! The latest episode we did was about elves, specifically Moonshadow Elves and Runaan, Ethari, and Rayla! We talked to some of the writers on the show, and there is a ton we learned from them. About Lunjane, guardian of the moon nexus, said that the nexus was disabled with the magic... If you can disable magic from random areas, can you give humans the access of the arcanums? I found this question interesting...
Hi to you. I LOVE The Dragon Prince. I am Lady_viren and my real name is Laura. On the other hand, I am French 🇫🇷 and my content is French. PS: I love you kisses 😘 keep it up
He would probably be one of those villains that twist their words up and everything they say has a double meaning so therefore he's not technically lying. 100% that's gonna be him
I think overall he has been VERY honest as we have seen. What I think he's being LESS than 100% honest is about WHY he needs to conquer Xadia, and what that would do for him.
I think that Aaravos wont scape through the cocoon, the caterpillar will evolve into a humanoid form and become some sort of avatar to be controlled by Aaravos while in prison.
This comment and the first 3 answers to it are very possible and I agree with them, but I also want to mention that in the scene when Virren and Claudia are looking at the cocoon, if you look close enough you could kinda se blurry outlines that resemble a humanoid sitting in a ball form rather than another creature or and insect in a whatever form they find themselves inside that thing.
From what I've seen, Aaravos is also something of a sadist. He helped Viren kill multiple guards back in season 2 even though he likely knew he'd be defeated regardless, went out of his way to torment Khessa over her grandmothers fate before killing her, and merely stunned Rayla so that she could watch Viren suck Zyms magic out. I can only imagine the ways he might try torment our main characters once he comes into direct conflict with them.
You did not mention how he tortures Viren. You see he was just using Viren as he is a pragmatic fool trying to sacrificing anything for humanity. That is his greatest weakness in which Aavaros sees as an opportunity. I'd like to assume the first mage was Viren's ancestor. Like Viren, Zirad only wants to help the humanity until Aavaros came into play and though him Dark Magic. I think it was also him that gave the man the iconic staff that Viren was using.
"Would you be seduced by him?" hmm, I dont know, A hansome, practically shirtless elf offering me power? maybe I would be capable of resisting for a couple minutes? then again that's just wishful thinking.
I think Aaravos started out as a genuinely good person at first. He was saddened by the hardship and oppression the humans had to go through at the hands of the dragons and elves and sought to free them from this oppression. So he gave them dark magic in order to free them. However, he went insane and started believing that he is entitled to be worshipped by all of humanity for freeing them from the hardships of their past rulers. Tragically, he has become just as corrupt and evil as the dictators he freed the humans from.
Mm this is how it started he was like an apprentice to the queen of that son elf and then I guess he became you grown he started giving the humans dark power and you know how much threatening the elves became of them but still his little brain kept giving him more power so then his punishment was deservable like if the humans are going to start hunting down creatures and you know about it you're still going to give them power and let them have it it just passed out instead of just taking it away if you give them the power you can easily take it away he gave them that as a gift and plus he's a star he would be very easy to take them all on but still he just kind of spread in it so his punishment was most likely for the better of good or all of humanity would have had all of that power and nobody would have been left not even a dragons because everybody would have been corrupted by him
I want to imagine that Aaravos had a Human lover, and by the same token, he also wanted to help Humanity, by giving them Dark Magic, but the other Elves and Dragons discovered this, knowing the dangers that Dark Magic could posses, plus they nither could bear the thought of "Lesser Beings" finally reaching their level, so in pure arrogance, ignorance, and desperation, they kill he's love and locked him up in the mirror, thus explaining he's hatred for the Dragons and other Elves.
Maybe that human lover was the orphan Queen? This is a tiny theory that's not really backed up by anything but don't you find it strange that Ezran does have a magical connection to animals? We don't know if the orphan Queen may have had magic but if she didn't and maybe had gotten quite close to Aaravos would it be possible that he is also Harrows and Ezrans ancestor?
I think it has less to do with "lesser beings" reaching their level and more to do with the fact that because Dark magic siphons magical power from any magical being including elves and dragons, humans can now potentially drive many magical creatures (elves and dragons) to extinction. Basically humans became a threat to the existence of Dragons and elves.
Arno Wisp maybe he had a human apprentice (who became a lover) who was like Callum and discovered that human’s could learn primal magic, but they elves and dragons didn’t want to learn, so they killed the apprentice to hide the truth and Aaravos spitefully taught human’s dark magic to teach them a lesson
@@dragonstouch1042 Unlikely, originally everyone thought that a name being mentioned before that Aavaros helped was human until it was later revealed to actually be a human city.
Fun fact Aaravos(in greek) or Erebus(in English btw it is a false translation because the letter of β is often confused with b) in ancient greek mythology is a god from the second gen of creation and is the son of chaos(Hesiod's Theogony). He is ofter depicted as a collosal winged mass of stars. I think he created the day and his wife/sister Nyx created the night. In short they created the day/night circle. He has a lot of children(i don't remember their names) The meaning of his name in greek is darkness. Also in ancient greek they used his name to refer to the darkest place of Tartarus. Also Hesiod mentioned that Zeus(king of gods and god of thunder) is afraid of him. If anyone wants more details comment and I will add more details.
@@kelapearse4132 if you want to find more info search Erebus on Google not Aaravos because Aaravos is like a sound translation(its how it sounds in greek)
I have a feeling that Aaravos was the one who cause everything...creating dark magic, having the humans get exiled from Xadia, and the overall war between Xadia, the Dragons and humans.
Makes sense, why even give humans a power that makes dragons and elves fear them by default because they could easily hunt them down for spell components? He likely gave the power to humans under the guise of helping them only to cause them to be pitted against elves and dragons which he could then use to wage war on Xadia.
I didn’t even consider the possibility that Aaravos might be making a physical body with the cocoon, I assumed it would be a creature able to counter the dragons, like maybe some evil dragon subspecies or even a dark magic kind of dragon. I like your theory better
@Hankrius Omg I remember hearing about that, now that you reminded me of it. Forgot all about that. Last I checked, the accuser refused to provide any evidence, which just wreaks of bullshittery. Jeeez. lol
Hybrid elves have been confirmed as a thing that can happen, but nothing on half-human elves yet. But if the Callum-is-part-elf theory turns out to be true, maybe!
@@altithoraxperotorum5133 I figure they would be born with access to only one parent's arcanum, but also have an affinity for learning the other. It would be pretty overpowered if a single individual could be born with the magic of multiple arcanums from the get-go.
@@altithoraxperotorum5133 That's a good point! If there's going to be a part-human elf, I kind of like the idea of Callum having an elf ancestor somewhere in his lineage. It would bring up the logistics of half-bloods in the war and explain both Callum's ability to connect to the Sky arcanum and Ez's inexplicable connection to animals. :D
I feel like Aaravos (before mirror) had just wanted everyone to be equal but tried to accomplish this in such a way that the other elves felt the need to banish him and now (during the show) he wants to help the humans conquer everything in revenge. I genuinely feel it might have been a salem-witch-trial type of situation. One human made a bad choice and everyone started blaming all humans, even though it started from Aaravos. And maybe after they were divided, Aaravos came clean about giving the power and the dragon king (and maybe elven council?) banished him to the mirror to hide the truth. That could be what the deal with the Sunfire elf Queen's grandmother was about. Aaravos told the sun elf queen something about her grandma before he killed her: maybe her grandma was part of the council that wrongfully banished him, and he told her the truth of his banishment. I'm just hoping his character is more than "I want to rule the world!"
I think Aaravos may have ultimately good intentions that we as the audience may have difficulty disagreeing with, despite his methods and his desire to be praised. I love those kinds of villains.
Maybe Elarion was named after the girl who founded the city thanks to Aaravos and I think it is connected to Viren Think, the mage Iziard (I think I got the name right) might be Viren's ancestor hence the staff and why aaravos made that grin in that one scene when he saw Viren and the staff because according to Iziard "it is a gift from a friend" That's my theory
I want to think tha Avroos is kinda like some of Korra's villains, with a bit of both Ozai and Iroh throw in: merciless toward those who oppose him( just like Ozai) and crazy powerful, but also capable of understanding potential when he sees it and loyal in a sense to his allies and those he loves, in a certain sense.
Seduced by Aaravos? Not Certainly! However, I would just be that person to ask him endless questions about who and what he is, his knowledge of magic, the history of the world, history of those who’ve lived, and his part played in that history. Curiosity is intoxicating.
Here's a crazy theory: Aaravos is trapped on a world inside the Mirror (a much more cozy version of Viren's coins) for his crime of creating Dark Magic and PERFECTING it, what do i mean? simple: throughout the show we've seen Callum, Viren and Claudia use different types of magic but only when they had a mana source for tapping on each and yet Aaravos could use several different magic runes ON HIS OWN when he was guiding Viren, why is that? -PERFECT Dark Magic: unlike normal Dark Magic which drains mana for a single spell, the Perfect version drains magical POTENTIAL (literally adding more mana to your own mana pool and also unlocking a connection to other Magic Sources by draining the talent the creature had for that magic, hence the cube of Aaravos that Callum has reacted to differeny magic sources, it was an easy tool for Magic-Potential Hunting essentially). you following? good, here is where it gets interesting: Aaravos created Dark Magic but needed time and much, MUCH practice to perfect it to this point, hence he helped to create the first human Wizards and make the ancient city of Elarion prosper, however while he got to perfect his Dark Magic through the trial and error alongside humans this caused the divide between humans and magical creatures and their exile from Xadia, eventually Aaravos trickery was discovered by Thunder and he got trapped inside the magical Mirror, kept in the Dragon King's tower to keep an eye on him. This Mirror-World on it's irony works abit similar to Dark Magic itself, using Aaravos' own Mana to keep him locked, so long Aaravos is alive and keeps all the magic potential he drained from other Magical Creatures he can never leave, but THIS is where Viren enters, think about it: Every single thing Aaravos has guided Viren towards is more power, first political power through the assasination ploys, but after that through Lux Aurelia and the draining of Zym's Potential is been all MAGICAL POWER, he's been slowly revealing PERFECT Dark Magic to Viren in order to make him more powerfull, why? Because if Viren becomes more powerfull than Aaravos, then he can break him free from the Mirror-World, and for someone that has drained so much magic potential, with such age and wisdom as Aaravos while Viren would outrank him in power, he still would outsmart him easily and thus could get rid of Viren should they have a...direct confrontation. wheew that was a long one, what do you guys think? do you agree? disagree? got something to add? lemme know and thanks for reading!
CU: Maybe the Orphan Queen gave him the apple! ME: Come on that’s a bit of a stretch! CU: This links in with the apple tree in the first episode perfectly ME: 😱
3:25 I think we can safely assume that the Sunfire elf all the way to the right-Queen Aditi’s left- is her daughter and Janai’s mother. Not only are their headpieces the same, but they even have similar eye markings; the two lighter stripes down the cheeks. Makes sense, since royal elf siblings seem to hold each ranking title. I hope we see them both, even in flashbacks
I don’t think so since it appears this was a different time period. At 5:14 aravos is present which he was not during the first picture which leads me to believe that the sun fire elf in that picture is a different queen or janai’s aunt or something since there obviously can’t be two queens at the same time. This is because both frames have a person holding the sun staff thing so yeah I’m just assuming it’s not or that was just an unintentional mistake made by the storyboarders. Also at the first image during the narration, aaravos was talking about the first elves so I’m assuming that that’s what the image was and it’s during the 5000 year time period before the present.
omfg this is one of the most informative tdp videos ive ever seen, literally 90% of the tdp lore videos just cover what we’ve seen on the show, i appreciate this sm like omfg i didn’t even think we had a confirmed timeline??
7:12 For some reason I'm getting an Adam and Eve type vibe from this section (if the orphan queen was the one who picked the fruit). Also, do you think the "Fallen Star" event might refer to Aaravos removing the glowing star thing from his chest and maybe giving it to humans? I ask because we see he doesn't have it in present day and also isn't present with the other elves by the time of Avizandum. Do you think he might have given it to the Orphan Queen via the Key of Aaravos?
It would be really cool if Aaravos was imprisoned by the dragons because he teached magic (real magic) to a human and then they started a relationship, they had a baby (half human half elf) and Avizandum and the dragon queen try to kill them. This way the dragons wouldn't be as innocent as the humans think, the baby would be saved and raised by step parents, and be the ancestor of Amaya and Sarai, witch would explained by the kids (Callum and Ezran) have powers. Aaravos' lover could be a friend of the Orphan Queen and the cube could actually belongs to her, as a gif from Aaravos while she leans magic, the Orphan Queen kept the cube after her friend died.
LeRoy Francis I subscribe to the theory that Aaravos originally had a human apprentice who figured out humans could use primal magic and ended up changing his view point on humans (they could still become a lover). However, other eleves and dragons didn’t want the lesser humans to have magic because they didn’t deserve it so they murdered the apprentice to silence the proof. Aaravos then gave humanity dark magic to spite the elves and dragons because it’s way more destructive (I have a whole other headcanon on dark magic). Maybe during the age of the orphan queen, Aaravos somehow found out his apprentice/lover was executed be the Sunfire Leader at that time and he killed the queen in a rage because she arrogantly told him his apprentice got what they deserved for trying to become anything but a lesser being (this would definitely whip him into a frenzy) and the orphan queen was forced to help seal him away because he was too destructive and now he just wants to see everything burn (bonus: the apprentice was named or had a similar name to Elarion and Aaravos told the humans he gave dark magic to to name the city that in order to honor her)
I think the Kings soul was transferred into his bird. And that later the new King ( his son ), will hear him when he finally sees the bird again. The bird flew away and the new King never got a chance to communicate with him. I also think there is a chance that the elf’s will be freed from the coins.
I think Aaravos is imprisoned in his own head hence we see him in a library, and he doesn't know where he is or how much time has passed. He's probably used that mirror before he was imprisoned to see what his enemies were doing or maybe used them to teleport between places. that caterpillar magic is probably a fragment of his imagination that became real when the spell was cast by Viren. the link between his imprisonment and the real world was strengthened the more dark magic his caterpillar was exposed to, as it was close to Viren the entire time. that cacoon at the end is a 'vessel' made with so much dark magic that Aaravos could finally materialise in the real world. it's probably a way for him to rescue his actual body and regain consciousness.
At all of this, aside from Aaravos, we don't know any startouch elves. They're supposedly rarely seen so it would be nice to come in contact with one in season 4. If they focus on the stars which is the power of divination, would that mean that the startouch elves night have foreseen or sensed a shift in whatever balance that they have? It would be interesting if that is the case.
He is the most dangerous type of Person. He's Smart, like on a Deep Intellectual Level. He's not evil he just see's the bigger picture and see's how something dosen't really matter in the long run. He fails to see what he's doing as right and wrong but rather sees them as what is efficient and what isn't. He see's kindness in the Humans and likes their Fascination with him. He wants attention (I mean that in a good way) He wants to help Humans in a manner that they will adore him. He likes to be seen and respected as a powerful Mage and treated with that Respect. Perhaps he identifies with the Humans who didn't get the respect they deserved by Elves and Dragons and See's them as Kindled Spirits. He being the powerful being that he is was surprised to find beings with such a short life-span make their lives soo meaningful. For someone that is practically immortal that is fascinating. It gives him new purpose and meaning in his Eternity, to help these Humans further love the Best of their lives so that he can feel fulfilled through them. That one line "I didn't Lie, I never Lie" is what sets off red flags because if he never lies it doesn't mean he's incapable it means that he doesn't need too.
Aaravos is a great villain cause... 1- He's the mastermind seemingly behind everything and I love those types of manipulative baddies. 2- He's implied to have alot of history in this world that remains hidden which I also love. 3- He makes me question my sexuality.... Which I adore.
I heard the words "you're human". There's a popular theory on Tumblr going around the queen Aditi may have had half human children (twins) and abandon one of them that look too much like a human but kept one child that look more like an elf. The abandoned child would be the orphan Queen. Many pointed out how much they look alike and how is Ezrans magical connection to animals is a factor also According to some sources that Katolis has an unusual hatred towards Sunfire out specifically so that does back their theory. Also with the symbol of the sun being on the logo of the orphan Queen it kind of shows that she has some sort of connection. Since Khessa hates humans and learning she is part human would explain the horrified look on her face. Also c'mon we know there are half elves in TDP universe, we know they exist, the orphan queen might be one of them.
I have this theory that the orphan queen, queen Aditi & Aaravos we’re close to one and other Aditi May have had feelings for Aaravos cause Stars ⭐️ and ☀️ But Aaravos and the orphan queen seemed to have a closer connection, it was in Aaravos character website that he never paid attention to time when it came to birthdays but there was this one thing that happened on his birthday were a human female picked a red fruit for him and he cherished that taste even to this day. So maybe queen Aditi got the orphan queen killed out of envy
zeyphrBW sd feel free to call it out if you want: theory goes Aaravos looked down on humanity until he took a human apprentice who, like Callum, discovered humans could access primal magic after a spiritual awakening or whatever you want to describe that. The human (maybe turned lover down the line if you want to go there) became very close with Aaravos, maybe giving him the apple like described and Aaravos began seeing the potential of humanity. Other elves and dragons, however, still saw humans as lesser being and didn’t want them to find out they could use primal magic, so the current ruler of the sun elves (not Aditi), had the apprentice murdered to hide the proof. Aaravos, who doesn’t know which elves carried out the task only that someone did, in retaliation, taught humanity dark magic (I have a whole other theory on the origin of dark magic) in order to spite the elves and to fulfill his apprentice’s desire to give magic to their people to help them, albeit in a twisted way. So the exile happens and then we get to the time of the orphan queen who befriends Aaravos. She reminds him of his apprentice, especially when she gives him the Apple and maybe he creates the Apple tree in Katolis as a sign of friendship. Eventually, he’s summoned/ taken to the city of the Sunfire elves and brought before Aditi. Aditi states that Aaravos didn’t learn his lesson the first time about befriending humans and that the outcome will only be the same. She then ends up revealing her predecessor was the one who killed his apprentice and arrogantly states that the apprentice got what they deserve for trying to be more than beneath them. Aaravos, throughly pissed, kills Aditi and all the witnesses (so no one knows what happened). The orphan queen is then forced by Thunder to help capture Aaravos since he is now too dangerous a threat, probably used as bait to lure him out, and once he’s trapped in the mirror, he’s now happy in watching the world burn. Thoughts?
I just found your channel, and I have to admit I'm impressed. You take a very deep look into your info and make sure what you are saying is factual and actually makes sense to people watching, such as myself. I have recently started uploading The Dragon Prince, (and I'm doing pretty well if I do say so myself...) however the main difference is that your videos are educational while mine are more of an AMV style that cannot be monetized or promoted. I am currently working towards a goal of being able to do these types of videos, so when I searched up inspiration, I came across your channel and watched some of your interviews with the shows creators and theories. I was wondering if perhaps we could do a collaboration video of some kind in the future? My channel has brought in thousands of new The Dragon Prince fans, as I have recently transitioned from How to Train Your Dragon. I'd love to spread said fans out around the community. Just lemme know if you think this would be beneficial. - Magicov :)
Something i noticed only recently when I was rewatching the show for the third time: the dark mage that blinds Sol Regem uses a staff, and as you definitely noticed it's the same as Viren's, so I'm pretty sure it's the same one. Now, the mage says it was a gift. Sol Regem asks who gave it to him, he replies "One of the great ones". We know that Aaravos was "one of the great ones" and that he was the one who probably showed humans dark magic. When Viren sees Aaravos in the mirror for the first time, the elf has a quick look at the corner where Viren placed the staff. Pretty cool, didn't think about it before
if aaravos is a master of all the primal sources, and his primal source is timeless star magic, wouldn't he be essentially immortal, making all things obsolete? and what you said about him replenishing his supply, that seems to confirm this. if so his goal could be the pursuit of knowledge, as we say when viren saw him in the mirror, he was working, researching, theorizing. if he is an arch mage wouldn't hee be studying more powerful magic? and if he was studying dark magic, wouldn't he be unable to put his theories to practice, unable to verify, or experiment. it seems to me that his goal is more auspicious than the attainment of worship, but to push the boundaries of what he is capable of, to see what is possible, what limits he can stretch or break. if he is immortal, and a master of all sources, wouldn't he be a god? and whats the point of a god, if not to create, destroy, have fun. if he sees a problem he changes it until he has a solution.
Then he would have a god complex but the way he acts doesn't seem to indicate that. He acts like a master manipulator, like he has some ulterior motive, definitely something lesser than playing god.
that is a fair statement, but it seems like he is playing the role of a djinni, granting favors with horrible consequences. i will admit that he doesn,t seem like a god, but i still think his goal is to test his dark magic theories.
that is probably why he was imprisoned in the first place. an elf who has mastered all forms of magic both primal and dark and is immortal is already bad for business for the other archmages and archdragons, but that same all powerful elf being sympathetic to humans let alone teaching them how to use dark magic so theyre on the same level as elves, is even worse because it means they can't crush humanity under their heels anymore and the most powerful being in zadia is helping them. so to stop basically a revolution they banished all of humanity for the sins of a few mages and then slightly later the other archmages and archdragons imprisoned Aaravos so he couldn't cause anymore chaos
my theory is that aarvos may come frome a race of dark eles who were whiped out by dragons and or other elves and that was why aarvos helped humans feeling for them as being viewsd as lesser cretures or just to spide the dragons and other elves
@@azariisgod6378 Or why we haven't seen them yet? There are still other elves we haven't been introduced yet like those connected to the Earth Arcana, the ocean etc.
This might be the most dangerous cartoon character ever made. He scares me. And the fact that the star symbol on his cloak is upside down..Scares me even more..He must have done something really bad to flip the star..He can alter reality...He can see the future...What else can he do?...
For some reason; I had a thought that humanity was original a slave race in Xadia, and Dark Magic was originally founded as a way for the first humans to rebel. Aaravos seems like he has a god complex and sees humanity as the best source for his worship, so it kind of makes sense for me to think of him as some sort of twisted version of Moses and Prometheus.
I think the caterpillar will evolve into the actual body of Aaravos, therefore getting him out of the mirror. This theory is supported because if you look closely at the web Aaravos spun, you can see horns that resemble Aaravos’s horns.
claudia will go farther into the dark side, and viren will snap out of it once he sees what his daughter has become. He will attempt to redeem himself by making the ultimate sacrifice to save his daughter
Great theory! I always enjoy watching your Dragon Prince episodes, because of the remarkable research you do for them. You clearly put a lot of time and effort into your work, and it shows! :) That said, I do think your videos could benefit from you slowing down the rate at which you speak. Currently, it is very difficult to understand what you are saying half the time without captions, because you talk so quickly. I know what it's like to talk super fast when you're nervous, and I know how nervous public speaking can be, but I do think your videos would benefit tremendously from a slower rate of speech and better enunciation of certain words--in particular, names like Ziard and Elarion, which fans may not recall right off the bat. I also think this would help your interviewing skills. I hope you don't mind my constructive criticism. :) Otherwise, great job on your research, and thank you for sharing your theory with us! :)
ocean elfs are called tidebound elfs and you are right. In the website description for arcanums it was stated that ocean and earth creatures are more peaceful. Also we know that hybrid elfs are possible. Not actually human hybrids but hybrids between different elf tribes. But they would be able to use only one arcanum of their parents.
@@altithoraxperotorum5133 It would be interesting to see if halflings human-elf exist....maybe they live hidden....rejected by the world...it would be cool to see them form their own faction in this moment of crisis. It could create a new big event in the timeline...sonething called....the rise of the hybrids
@@ozmasterofmasks5838 i say that they should put in a main human hybrid character. I would lime to see how humans and elfs would react about that. And to be honest there is no way that humans and elfs had any romantic /sexual interaction before or after the banishment of humanity
@@altithoraxperotorum5133 That's true as well. Although it will be pretty exciting. Can you immagine if...I dunno, the crowlord is actually a hybrid in secret, maybe they could disguise themselves with moon magic amulet. Just saying. But seriously crowlord has to be a big shot
Personally I don't like the idea that Aaravos is a grand chessmaster manipulating everyone to eventually make himself the undisputed master of the world. The Dragon Prince has been a show about well intentioned but flawed characters doing bad things for what they think is right or just, I feel it'd diminish the story thematically for the show to be about ending the cycle of hate, and coming to understand and accept each other, and having it end with beating up a big bad puppet master kinda cheapens that theme. I believe that Aaravos is someone who does actually care for humanity and has done everything in the series for humanities sake (and his own hatred for Magical Creatures which has shown contempt for, primarily do to the arrogance that many of the magical races have shown in the series) I think it's more thematically fitting for this series that a lot of the conflict done in the is a result of an act of legitimate love and charity, while also being twisted by hatred.
Exactly. The main thing I like about this story is how there is not truly one source of suffering and the problems that happened from built up from many tensions throughout history. And blaming all the problems on one person doesn't solve anything, instead they make things worse as we seen with Avizandum and Harrow, which I think is a pretty realistic message. So that's why I do not want the "kill the grand chess master to rewrite fate and Callum becomes the rightful archmage in the very end so everyone lives happily ever after ending" or else it cheapens it like you said.
For janai there is the 95 percent chance of her to become the next queen unless she has other siblings or kheesa has some (secret) kids we don't know about yet.
Personally I liked S3E07 where Aaravos said "your arrogance is so predictable". It could mean that he just expected it, or that he actually predicted it which is the power of the power of star magic.
Aaravos is a master of all primal sources and dark magic and a bloodbender since he control viren in “the final battle” he rlly is the most powerful character I’ve ever seen
Interesting theory. It actually makes sense as most major characters who aren't the main character but also the narrator are the ones who are playing around with fate. P.S at 13:50 did you honestly say "would you be seduced by him" like wut .XD
I think of Aaravos as a Prometheus type character. He gave humans dark magic just as Prometheus gave humans fire, and was punished for it. Now after being imprisoned for hundreds of years, he's out for revenge.
I would be tempted...but not for the normal "I want the power to Crush my Enemies" or "I want to become more powerful!" Instead I'd be temped more by Wisdom and being able to become more skilled at things, via shortcuts. Like "Here! Take this potion to become super confident and great at seduction!" or "Here's how to recall knowledge more easily"
5:08 👀 Aaravos has yellow eyes... when in present day his eyes are dark (like the eyes of those who just finished casting a dark magic spell)..... so maybe he once was “good” and something happened that made him betray the other elves? Maybe he is the source of dark magic, as in he taught the first dark magic mages the secrets of how to do magic themselves?
WAIT! theory, what if Claudia is the crow lord! i mean look at her shoulder guards, and in the end credits of season 2 the crow lord has spikes too! and crow master said that they were out of town prior season 1 and 2, and who was busy during them? CLAUDIA! It makes so much sense if you think about.
From what we seen Aaravos like human can give two bait frats about elf kind and Drgons words I can't put in comment .I'm look forward to how he acts when the queen part start.

Really cool video ! But I have a different theory about Aaravos. I personnally think that human were not, in fact, inferior to elf, but the opposite, and somehow he made everybody forget about it. Human mage were the only being, with practice, to be able to get any arcanum, as proven with Callum. Since getting an arcanum is hard for a human and take a lot of effort, he fake generosity and showed the human the way to have magic of their own : dark magic. In some capacity, he also himself stole that characteristic of the humans (with dark magic ?), since he is the only elf that we see capable of using multiple arcanum. I found my theory plausible, because otherwise, Callum would just be the first human to actually try after 2000 years ? It feel a bit far fetched ...
I think Aaravos wants to be seen as a parent figure. He wants to be kind while having the humans come to him for help like children go to there parents when they need help. I think he has the parental instinct that makes mothers and fathers willing to do anything including kill for there children.
The magic the humans learned before dark magic was probably through the Primal Stones. One of the books that goes more deeply into the worldbuilding and characterization mentions that the unicorns created a handful of primal stones to help the humans thrive, before the majority of them were killed for dark magic
I think that Aravos discovered dark magic and gave it to humans as a gift ( if you check the series in one episode the first dark mage says that his sceptre was a gift ) in order to get rid of the dragon guardians ( Soul Regen gets blinded by a dark mage , Thunder gets murdered by a dark mage and finally the newborn dragon guardian almost gets murdered as well by the same guy who killed his father ) so that Aravos can escape from prison (where he was prisoned for the discovery of dark magic) and conquer Zedia + to be worshipped as a god ( the second comes as a result because we see Aravos narrating us in the 1st episode of the series and we also see his hands opening the map of Zedia -which could make him feel like a god- and he is "offering help" to humans to become greater species )
If Viren was going to be redeemed it would probably be near the end of the series him maybe sacrificing himself for his children or for a higher purpose
Aaravos, as we know, is a Startouch elf. Other startouch elves are seen with glowing cirlces around their heads and waists. Aaravos was banished and imprisoned, so he is known as the Fallen Star, and I think it is because those stars around him disapeared when he was banished. Aaravos is also called Elarions midnight star aswell as the Bearer of Gifts and the Last of the great ones. I think this means he was the Great one who gave Ziard the staff which later was passed down to Viren. I think this staff has a history with leading people to Aaravos and it may be magiked to ampifly dark magic or something far worse
My idea after seeing this video is that the Key of Aaravos is not actually something that could free him. For all we know about it, it is draw in some direction, and unlock a secret into Xadia. Maybe this is an artifact that Aaravos did not build, but found somewhere that allow him to summon a portal (like the same as Moonshadow's elves ones) linked to the secret of dark magic, which might be more than just "Evil Power Absorption". This is maybe how he discovers a Primal Source radically different than others concepts described before, maybe linked with life or death. Aaravos should be, in my opinion, not free of his prison the next season. However, he may be able to take a form more suitable to fullfill his goals. His liberation might be the destiny of Callum, as he would search the answer of the Key. So the Startouch Elf will maybe want to lead Callum to achieve his freedom, once for all.
Rewatching the series, we hear from the king's letter to Callum that the box thing that detects magic is called Aravos's key. He could be trying to unite the 7 sources of magic, open the box, and use what's inside to make humanity worship him.

Okay, little tinfoilhat theory. What if Queen Aditi somehow lost all her magic and became sorta kinda human, then started a family, which was eventually united with the Orphan Queen´s family, when a certain magical widow married the latter´s far of decendant. It would explain the royal brothers´ magical potential as residue magic passed down through generations and it would make at least some sence, with Amaya and Sarai being portraied as being almost abnormally powerful warrior women, just like the golden knight of Lux Aurea. Also wouldn´t it be hilarious that the human, who basically bullied Janai into liking her, was revealed to actually be related to her?

About Lunjane, guardian of the moon nexus, said that the nexus was disabled with the magic...
If you can disable magic from random areas, can you give humans the access of the arcanums?
I found this question interesting...
Hi to you. I LOVE The Dragon Prince. I am Lady_viren and my real name is Laura. On the other hand, I am French 🇫🇷 and my content is French.
PS: I love you kisses 😘 keep it up
Colour me skeptical, but whenever I hear a character "never lies", I think that character ALWAYS lies, but in a very careful way.
They dont lie. They just dont tell the truth
He would probably be one of those villains that twist their words up and everything they say has a double meaning so therefore he's not technically lying. 100% that's gonna be him
From what I learned just because someone never lies doesn't that they will give you all the details.
No one who is genuinely good needs to assure others that they "never lie".
Yeah I agree. With the energy that he & Viren got from Zym he could create a physical body to control and use.
PikaMeer That brings an interesting question: will Viren’s actions have a negative impact on Zym’s health? He did drain a lot of his power.
@@TheRoomforImprovement good point because he is very young and might stunt his growth
Honestly, it think that to, but the human would look like what virin sees aaravos as
From what I've seen, Aaravos is also something of a sadist.
Don't forget his voice sounds like God😍
I couldn't agree more, if the devil himself looked and sounded like him I don't think I could resist for long (whether I would even want to 😍)

@@Mayaspiral yeah, but it barely covers his chest, that's why I said "practically shirtless"
Tragically, he has become just as corrupt and evil as the dictators he freed the humans from.
honestly this is the best theory i've seen so far, seems likely
Mm this is how it started he was like an apprentice to the queen of that son elf and then I guess he became you grown he started giving the humans dark power and you know how much threatening the elves became of them but still his little brain kept giving him more power so then his punishment was deservable like if the humans are going to start hunting down creatures and you know about it you're still going to give them power and let them have it it just passed out instead of just taking it away if you give them the power you can easily take it away he gave them that as a gift and plus he's a star he would be very easy to take them all on but still he just kind of spread in it so his punishment was most likely for the better of good or all of humanity would have had all of that power and nobody would have been left not even a dragons because everybody would have been corrupted by him
@@emperorofyoutubedebates8909 This comment is a massive, incomprehensible run on sentence.
@@emperorofyoutubedebates8909 ...............,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I want to imagine that Aaravos had a Human lover, and by the same token, he also wanted to help Humanity, by giving them Dark Magic, but the other Elves and Dragons discovered this, knowing the dangers that Dark Magic could posses, plus they nither could bear the thought of "Lesser Beings" finally reaching their level, so in pure arrogance, ignorance, and desperation, they kill he's love and locked him up in the mirror, thus explaining he's hatred for the Dragons and other Elves.

Aaravos(in greek) or Erebus(in English btw it is a false translation because the letter of β is often confused with b) in ancient greek mythology is a god from the second gen of creation and is the son of chaos(Hesiod's Theogony).

For now I think the most confirmed thing he did is create dark magic, like when he saved some people from Elarion
Didn’t Luna Tenebris do that? Like she made it so that instead of them being killed they just got exiled.

This lore is WAY deeper than I thought.
I think Aaravos may have ultimately good intentions that we as the audience may have difficulty disagreeing with, despite his methods and his desire to be praised.
I love those kinds of villains.
Aaravos the attractive villain
Maybe Elarion was named after the girl who founded the city thanks to Aaravos and I think it is connected to Viren
Think, the mage Iziard (I think I got the name right) might be Viren's ancestor hence the staff and why aaravos made that grin in that one scene when he saw Viren and the staff because according to Iziard "it is a gift from a friend"
That's my theory
His name is Ziard
What interests me is that only part of it is the same staff. I think that perhaps that is a whole staff while Viren only has a weaker peice of it.
His hair matches Claudia's
I agree to you
I want to think tha Avroos is kinda like some of Korra's villains, with a bit of both Ozai and Iroh throw in: merciless toward those who oppose him( just like Ozai) and crazy powerful, but also capable of understanding potential when he sees it and loyal in a sense to his allies and those he loves, in a certain sense.
Aarapod in my opinion is kinda like sauron. Without the dragon prince he’s not that powerful
Seduced by Aaravos? Not Certainly!
However, I would just be that person to ask him endless questions about who and what he is, his knowledge of magic, the history of the world, history of those who’ve lived, and his part played in that history. Curiosity is intoxicating.
Funnily enough, even now, I think he’d be more amused by that than annoyed
Here's a crazy theory: Aaravos is trapped on a world inside the Mirror (a much more cozy version of Viren's coins) for his crime of creating Dark Magic and PERFECTING it, what do i mean? simple: throughout the show we've seen Callum, Viren and Claudia use different types of magic but only when they had a mana source for tapping on each and yet Aaravos could use several different magic runes ON HIS OWN when he was guiding Viren, why is that?
-PERFECT Dark Magic: unlike normal Dark Magic which drains mana for a single spell, the Perfect version drains magical POTENTIAL (literally adding more mana to your own mana pool and also unlocking a connection to other Magic Sources by draining the talent the creature had for that magic, hence the cube of Aaravos that Callum has reacted to differeny magic sources, it was an easy tool for Magic-Potential Hunting essentially).
you following? good, here is where it gets interesting:
Aaravos created Dark Magic but needed time and much, MUCH practice to perfect it to this point, hence he helped to create the first human Wizards and make the ancient city of Elarion prosper, however while he got to perfect his Dark Magic through the trial and error alongside humans this caused the divide between humans and magical creatures and their exile from Xadia, eventually Aaravos trickery was discovered by Thunder and he got trapped inside the magical Mirror, kept in the Dragon King's tower to keep an eye on him.

Who knows his lover might be the Orphan queen, it would explain Ezrans magical connection (somewhat)

When Aaravos whisper into the sun queens ear I’m pretty sure he says “there human”
Who's human?
Also c'mon we know there are half elves in TDP universe, we know they exist, the orphan queen might be one of them.

zeyphrBW sd feel free to call it out if you want: theory goes Aaravos looked down on humanity until he took a human apprentice who, like Callum, discovered humans could access primal magic after a spiritual awakening or whatever you want to describe that. Thoughts?
Hmm could be but the Orphan queen looks too young for Aaravos judging by her picture unless she turns out to be like 20 or something
Something i noticed only recently when I was rewatching the show for the third time:
the dark mage that blinds Sol Regem uses a staff, and as you definitely noticed it's the same as Viren's, so I'm pretty sure it's the same one.
10:05 when your having salty urges and haven’t felt another mans touch in 300 years 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
6:13 he said, "you're human."
my theory is that aarvos may come frome a race of dark eles who were whiped out by dragons and or other elves and that was why aarvos helped humans feeling for them as being viewsd as lesser cretures or just to spide the dragons and other elves
Angus Wallace he’s a star elf thou
Vanessa Xxx have you ever wondered why star touched elves are so rare
@@azariisgod6378 Or why we haven't seen them yet? There are still other elves we haven't been introduced yet like those connected to the Earth Arcana, the ocean etc.
This might be the most dangerous cartoon character ever made. He scares me. And the fact that the star symbol on his cloak is upside down..Scares me even more..He must have done something really bad to flip the star..He can alter reality...He can see the future...What else can he do?...
Do we actually know if the Startouched Elf in the intro is ACTUALLY Aaravos? I just saw it as being another of his subspecies of Elf.
It is! This was confirmed
@@CartoonUniverse that makes things even more interesting :')
Matthew Hollis god damnit! Stop making hotter!
That said, I do think your videos could benefit from you slowing down the rate at which you speak. :)
Otherwise, great job on your research, and thank you for sharing your theory with us! :)

The way we had not see any ocean or earthblood elves in the intro of the show would suggest that they are peacefull
ocean elfs are called tidebound elfs and you are right. In the website description for arcanums it was stated that ocean and earth creatures are more peaceful. Also we know that hybrid elfs are possible. Not actually human hybrids but hybrids between different elf tribes. But they would be able to use only one arcanum of their parents.
@@altithoraxperotorum5133
It would be interesting to see if halflings human-elf exist....maybe they live hidden....rejected by the world...it would be cool to see them form their own faction in this moment of crisis.
@@altithoraxperotorum5133
That's true as well.
Although it will be pretty exciting.
Can you immagine if...I dunno, the crowlord is actually a hybrid in secret, maybe they could disguise themselves with moon magic amulet.
Just saying.
But seriously crowlord has to be a big shot
i only hope that when they go to the earthblood elves city they talk and behave exactly like Callum´s impresion, it would be hylarious :D
One can say, Sol Regum is blinded by wrath, figuratively and literally
For janai there is the 95 percent chance of her to become the next queen unless she has other siblings or kheesa has some (secret) kids we don't know about yet.
Did anyone notice that on the first episode aravos was shown as one of the elves does dis mean he was once good
:0
The amount of lore in this show is crazy
i think that Arravos is going to enter the human world in the caccon because now the caterpiller looks like a little bit like Arravos in the cacoon
Can't deny Aarovos is still looking good!
It’s clear that the key is the key to a better future for humans having magic. It makes forming attachments to sources of magic possible for humans.
aaravos probably betrayed the “great ones” and big blue dinosaur trapped him in the mirror
7:44
My dear Eva,
You picked the apple for the snake
Or the caterpillar
Personally I liked S3E07 where Aaravos said "your arrogance is so predictable". It could mean that he just expected it, or that he actually predicted it which is the power of the power of star magic.
Aaravos is a master of all primal sources and dark magic and a bloodbender since he control viren in “the final battle” he rlly is the most powerful character I’ve ever seen
I am going to say he will hug Varin and ask him are you ready for round 3
Interesting theory. It actually makes sense as most major characters who aren't the main character but also the narrator are the ones who are playing around with fate.
P.S at 13:50 did you honestly say "would you be seduced by him" like wut .XD

"would you be seduced by him?"

I might as well kiss a star if I was really drunk just saying. XD
Can’t wait for season 4. And I think he said “And she’s human.”
You're doing a great job! keep it up! Looking forward to more contents on the Dragon Prince :)
Thank you so much
I think of Aaravos as a Prometheus type character. He gave humans dark magic just as Prometheus gave humans fire, and was punished for it. Now after being imprisoned for hundreds of years, he's out for revenge.
I would be tempted...but not for the normal "I want the power to Crush my Enemies" or "I want to become more powerful!"
Instead I'd be temped more by Wisdom and being able to become more skilled at things, via shortcuts. Like "Here! Take this potion to become super confident and great at seduction!" or "Here's how to recall knowledge more easily"
When you realise if the king had just used the snake, none of this would’ve happened.
He probably did or was tricked into it...PIP
Guys did any of you notice that vieren didn’t have that eye thingy aarovos gave him? ThAt means he’s definitely coming out. And now that they’ve concurred xadia aarovos doesn’t need vieren anymore
I'm no expert but lip reading Aravos when he killed the Queen it looks like he was saying "I know your spells"
Listen closely you'll hear "you're human"
hoda ahmad it could be your human or something else but it definitely isn’t I know ur spells 😂
@@hodzal5258 I wasn't listening. Hence lip reading. The words you heard do NOT match the words he lips. In order to lip read properly (for me) I do so with NO sound. So I can SEE what the lips are likely saying. I could be 100 percent wrong but it APPEARS what his lips say is "I know your spells."
@@Omggeex Again I am totally ignoring what is HEARD because what is heard DOES NOT match what his lips say. I went by turning the sound completely off and looking at the lips only.
I suspect the King is not dead. I think Viren sealed him in the same amulet he sealed the other moon elves.
The magic the humans learned before dark magic was probably through the Primal Stones. One of the books that goes more deeply into the worldbuilding and characterization mentions that the unicorns created a handful of primal stones to help the humans thrive, before the majority of them were killed for dark magic
Really did not expect this show to hook me the way it did
I think that Aravos discovered dark magic and gave it to humans as a gift ( if you check the series in one episode the first dark mage says that his sceptre was a gift ) in order to get rid of the dragon guardians ( Soul Regen gets blinded by a dark mage , Thunder gets murdered by a dark mage and finally the newborn dragon guardian almost gets murdered as well by the same guy who killed his father ) so that Aravos can escape from prison (where he was prisoned for the discovery of dark magic) and conquer Zedia + to be worshipped as a god ( the second comes as a result because we see Aravos narrating us in the 1st episode of the series and we also see his hands opening the map of Zedia -which could make him feel like a god- and he is "offering help" to humans to become greater species )
I can't wait for season 4 nyan!
Heck yeah dragon prince I love this channel
Are you going to mention virens staff is the same as the dark mage in the beginning?
The dark mage was an ancestor of viren
Why do cartoons always have so much stuff in them that happens in the past and is never filmed? We have to do so much research to figure out what is going on! It makes my head hurt... 😢 But still it is pretty fun to do the research...😅😁
The cube is the key to set Aaravos free from his prison.
If I recall correctly, you don’t need to be an orphan to ascend the Katolian throne, but that an orphan is usually picked as the new ruler should the current royal line die out
“would you be seduced by him” yes obviously next question
She said aarvos might have planned the entire story so he could have his goal and all I could think the netire time was "Like Black Zetsu"
13:15
What if after his death and reborn Viren's mind has been freed by the corruption of dark magic and now he can see things more clear

Great video!! I think he did lie at one time though? When he narrates the first episode and said “humans destroyed the egg.” Wondering if he knew it was really alive?? 🤷🏻♀️😂
