    Very interested in this one for review. I'm a sucker for Micarta. (So much so that I apparently capitalize it as if it were a deity.)

      I'm also a sucker for Micarta (capitalization is correct as it is technically the brand name, like Kleenex). The MSF is pretty fantastic especially at the price point. Pick one up and you won't be disappointed.

      Thanks for watching and for your support! Our goal is to ship as quickly as possible (typically within 24-48 hours). The MSF is a fantastic little folder and offers a great quality for the price.

    I was looking for a good flipper from the US or Italy with Micarta, I have several Buck flippers with Micarta I just got the Buck 841 it’s pretty solid. I’m going to use it as a work horse knife. I want a clean look gentlemen type knife. This knife looks perfect. Thanks for the review I subbed

    I’ve just added a MSF 4.0 as my EDC pocketknife to pair with my Prather War Bowie, replacing a Kershaw Ken Onion 1550. I’ve no experience with this blade design or steel. Your video was pretty helpful in my decision to purchase this blade.

    This knife seems to get mostly great reviews so far. The only negative comment I read so far was a claim that the liner lock pushed all of the way to the opposite side of the handle while whittling. My concern is if this knife can handle hard push cutting tasks. I may buy one anyway and hope for the best.

      Hadn't heard of that issue but I imagine that TOPS would take care of it if it became problematic.

    I just received one and the detent is almost non existent. A light shake makes the blade fall out. The detent on the one in the video looks quite solid

    • @Gpknives
      @Gpknives  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      All examples I've handled have had a solid but moderate detent.

    I am curious... when closed, where does the blade, or rather how close is the blade's edge to the open back of the handles ?
    I ask because, I also own a boker kwaiken, and love it, yet when I grip it closely when it is closed, or absentmindedly fondle it (Hey don't judge me !), I have in the past sliced open a finger-tip through the opened back (to state again, while closed)

    • @Gpknives
      @Gpknives  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe that the MSF has plenty of clearance from the back of the handle to the blade edge when in the closed position. Unfortunately we are all sold out at the moment so I'm not able to give you a measurement. Definitely more clearance than the Kwaiken.

      Thanks for the response, I tried to guage it from the blade shape, to how much of the flipper tab showed when closed, but I'll find out soon.. estimated delivery date of Thursday.

    I'm going to buy this one. Just wish it had better steel. Knife Knuts have sharpening systems, man. Give us that 20CV, that M390, that 204P. We ain't scared.

    • @Gpknives

      I think it is designed to be maintained in the field. Most folks who are putting this knife to its intended use as an outdoors knife probably aren't hauling their KME into the field with them.

      According to Larrin Thomas (knifesteelnerds) N690/ VG10 are a 4.5/10 in edge retention.
      S35VN is only 0.5 more than that, at 5/10, so you're not gaining much going to the S30 class for example and another 0.5-1 for the 20% chromium 4% vanadium class
