Not in the book: Not only did Robin Williams give Christopher Reeve hope and laughter in his darkest hour, but Robin paid ALL of Reeve's huge medical bills. That is a true friendship.
Christopher Reeve will forever be my hero as well as this world's real life SUPERMAN! Still Me is truly a beautiful book by a phenomenal humanitarian! I read this book when it was first published. Can't believe it's now over twenty years later and neither he, his wife Dana or his friend Robin Williams are here now. Life is such a weird fleeing thing.
This means so much to me! Beyond the grave, you are still Superman for me - honest and positive. I sustained a serious eye infection in 2018, and it was that faith, determination, prayer and the support of the few but TRUE family and friends (esp. my aunt who took 10000% care of me when I was at my agony and need which got me through). I say that I am a "miracle a minute"💖🙏🙏 (I still have 90% vision), and all the doctors- even the ones whom I then sought overseas for a second opinion were astonished, but so kind and reassuring, it felt to me similarly to how "Juice" made you feel- valued. I find it interesting he was aware that last minute choices did lead to his injury and yet it can save peoples lives, just go read about those who avoided 9/11 wtc certain deaths that should have been in the buildings. He said that during a film he had to visit a hospital and be around maybe people in wheel chairs and he said thank god it isn't me. That has never been a thought that has popped into my mind, i've always felt sorry and sadness for those less able. This injury may have been a lesson he was meant to learn
Personally, I didn't read the "thank God it isn't me" with any lack of empathy or sadness, just thankfulness and an honest acknowledgement of his privilege. But I can see your point.

I'm on 1:38:48 time of the record. It occurs to me how many people fought for his life, Christopher Reeve's life, again and again, fiercely. I cannot relate to such situation. It's a wonder for me, I even wouldn't believe in it if I didn't listen the story as told personally by Christopher Reeve.
My life experience is totally opposite. I have always been living my life being faced with the constant situation of sharp need to overcome the enormous pressure of lots of people, starting with my own parents, who intentionally want me to be out of their ways, to be used and thrown away, to be completely eliminated, both physically and spiritually. I cannot imagine anybody fighting for my life along with me. I mean I have never been intended to be a burden to anyone, the same with Christopher Reeve, but even a tiny help would make essential difference in my life.
The dramatic moment in Christopher's narration bring me back to my recent dramatic moment. I mean the most fresh and rather unforgettable memories of the road accident I have got into, when I was blinded by a car, stop seeing anything, lost control over my bicycle which I simply tried to stop and it didn't stop by some still unknown for me reasons, thus, being aware that I might turn out to be not on the edge of road I was initially moving along, and turned out to be somewhere in the middle of it, I tried to get off my still moving bike to avoid being crashed by another car, which might be moving behind me in one direction with me; as a result I fall on the stones on the side of the road. The car, the one which was moving toward me along the other stripe of the road (its driver intentionally slowed the speed when he blinded me), after my fall sped and disappear. I didn't remember much but the extreme pain when I hit the ground and then I was lying there for a while and finally regained myself and realised that I am lying on the stones off the road and there were constant flashes from the headlights over me; hence, I could be seen by drivers behind the wheels of those numerous cars, but no one stopped.
And then I was moving, first on foot, then on my bicycle, 135 km with visibly bleeding wounds on my legs, but no driver offered me any help, including the road police officer, who stopped me many hours later, when I almost reached my town; however, he didn't offer me any help, like a first aid kit, for example, in it was my acute need, most of my wounds were so dirty, that it was obvious that it would cause serious danger for me. So I persistently moved ahead, whatever how slowly I did it, sometimes stopped and turned from the road into the wild nearby and tried to clean my wounds with mineral water I had alternating this with cleaning them with my own urine, the only treatment I could provide then. The moment of truth, I wasn't along in desert, I was in the most busy road of federal significance, marked M52 on the map.
Such a sad story for such such a wonderful man with such a bright future, but you're going to be OK because you've got it in your mind that you can do better and that's you. You're a go-getter and you will make it. I pray for you.

I love Somewhere in Time, but it seems he's not happy with that film...it didnt do good with he's career...like Superman4...but now it is 2021, I even order the film through Amazon...its all out of stock..It is a history, timeless movie ever, perhaps before it was not so appreciated but this time it is antique in a way..
Absolutely love Somewhere in Time. One of my favorite films, and what a beautiful soundtrack. 🧡 from TX
I love that movie and watched many times. On that movie he displayed how good he was in drama and romance. I love story.❤

What a stupid comment

Guess Chris didn't want to mention Simpson's troubles that occurred just before his, although Simpson's troubles were brought on by his own fault.
Who?
@@nataliekhanyola5669 OJ Simpson. Another actor in 'The Theater of the Real'. He pretended to have murdered two people similar to how Reeve pretended to be paralyzed.
I can find this book in spanish¿
