K I've scrolled through some of the comments and I'd like to offer mine. I'm a long time mmorpg'r. I really committed hard core back in WoW (Vanilla). I quit after 4-5 xpacks and dove into SWTOR (one of the best mmorpg's ever imho) for about 4 years. After waiting for content I quit for a year and searched for the perfect gaming experience for me. I don't play alts unless I have to really or my main is past end game content waiting for an x pack. I'm always a caster and my play style is dungeon crawling with a dope, mature guild and smashing end game content. SWTOR was cool with guild wars for planets which required guildies to maximize their roles as crafters, pvpr's, starfighters, whatever to achieve the pts we needed to win. That all changed but I'll get to that. I tried EVE for a hot minute and threw so much rl cash at it over the skill training which can take MONTHS at higher levels unless... you buy boosters. Anyhow I couldn't get into getting attached to my "ship" and the whole economy thing but those who were into that were INTO that lol. Tried TERA (actually bought the fucking game when it dropped and sucked) and didn't feel it. Played Neverwinter Online for lil over a year but still kept searching for that perfect mmorpg to grab me. I dove into Secret World Legends for a lil over a year after NWO and was blown away by the combat system but again... after top level it was same dungeons over and over again with not much else to do. Warframe, City of Heroes even Prey and games out of the mmorpg realm just looking for something. I also ain't a guild hopper. I totally dig finding a dope, mature, skilled guild who smashes content and knowledgeable who enjoys chillin' in Discord with a beverage and quest, PVP, whatevs. I was playing Vindictus RIGHT before BDO and was blown away by the combat system and the game as a whole. Crafting was terrible but I thought I found my game after all these years... Then I had a pal in Discord tell me bout this and I gave it a shot. I haven't looked back since and will probably play this game for the rest of my life haha. Make no mistake... IT"S HUGE!!! It's so fucking big it's just dumb. But it has EVERYTHING I've been seeking. Incredible character depth. Ridiculous amount of NPC's, quests, non linear story lines to infinity. I've been dying to find a fire mage that suits me. (I quit WoW when frost mages became raid viable... FUCK that sideways and dry. How does an icicle do more dmg than fire and brimstone??!!) The spells and graphical representation on screen is without a doubt the best fire mage experience I've had. THEN!!! When you get to lvl 56 you become "awakened" and all those cool as fuck spells go out the window for EVEN COOLER AS FUCK SPELLS!!! For the EVE people? You can build a global empire of farmers, miners, traders and more. The marketplace simply cannot be fucked with by that dickhead who undercuts and fucks up the economy. It's deep. You have around 8 skills like heating, grinding, smoking etc where you do things like mill wheat into flour because you need it for cooking which is a crafting skill. Every toon can grind, mill, etc etc though. It is DEFINITELY a grind fest so if you dig that shit? Go nuts! But re spawn rates for all areas are like seconds. You can fucking buy a male horse.... breed it w a female on the breeding market and sell the foals!! Like no... you can seriously start a horse breeding business. You can become a furniture crafter who chops down his own wood. You can purchase a home and decorate it like SWTOR and you can also craft your own shit. There's an aspect called "knowledge" where if that NPC ain't down with you yet? You can't access certain parts of the game/quest line. Lastly... you can build a motha fuckin pirate ship, sail it seeking rare sea monsters and purchase labor and workers for your crew. I'm not gonna lie... it took me 3 weeks to even reach a point where I was a lil less clueless than when I started haha but my man above with his video is truly helpful. Personally I don't use spread sheets but if that's your thing too? You get that in this game. You can play free for 10 days but I highly suggest buying it for the insanely cheap price of TEN BUCKS!! There's people who've been playing for 6-7 years who haven't seen it all, explored everything and still learning. WOW!!! Not gonna lie... I shoved a super fat rail of blow in my beak before writing this :) I been playing for 'bout 2 months and STILL looking for advice. My man in the video above did a fantastic job of helping me out and I hope this long as fuck review gets some of you to play. My Family name in game is "illadelphia" Elbryrwyn is my main. Look me up! And thanks for making this video bro :) Cheers!
Doesn't matter whether chasing for level or gear, it all comes down to a GRIND, which is actually not a bad thing, that's what keep people playing. aim for something and work for it. I've been playing a lot of single player games which mostly about story, and I really miss the grind, that's actually the gameplay of a game. In BDO the end result is MONEY, and grinding is only one way of earning money, there are also life skills which translate into a whole lot of other game mechanics and a huge item database, and that's what makes BDO interesting. It's not just about combat, there's also the Harvest Moon part of it, and it's quite complex and varied.
Subbed up after this for sure, great in depth and informative video. As a brand spankin ass new player this is exactly what I needed to get a clear picture of what I want to do with my character. Great work man.
but what's the end game? grind mobs, trading or pay rl money for gears and that's it? the crafting, follower and everything r all for gear, just sounds so pointless
i have lv 61 ninja, full tri boss gears.. i want to get back so much but i might get on that grindy side of the game again and its becoming a chore.. its funny because i went full competitive when it came out, so thats prolly the reason why i quit because of OP players and keep up with them... is that fun for anyone? sorry for bad engrish
A really good video in my opinion, a lot of good information, especially since it is aimed at newer players. I just want to quickly go into your opinion on artisan memory (like a few others here in the comments): On BIS gear you pay about 5 Dollar per 20 extra dura, 20 mem frags cost 15m or less (depending on scrolls or just market) and 15m can easily be farmed in 1h, so those 5 Dollar you pay basically save you 1h of work, but you miss out on xp and skill xp.
Just depends on the player, and if they want to spend the money. I just don't see how you can restore max item durability efficiently w/o using AM on Boss (Yellow level) gear.
Ofc if people want to spend the money, why not. But it only took me 2 weeks to get all my boss gear to TRI and I have everything exept Dandelion. Thats why I dont see it as such a bad p2w problem.
I'm a 61 Maewha on eu, Valencia is primarily for money, Pirate's is best overall spot in the game. But please don't go there looking for free grind or you'll get clapped I recommend 140 ap min and 200 dp min to be efficient. Also, Accuracy is the strongest stat in the game and AP and DP are not weighted the same. Nice vid tho
4:21 just wanna clear up how utterly false those times are even with maxed out buffs, alot of the guides youre reading are old, there have been many revamps to the levelling system. Around 6-7 months ago there was a significant increase to the amount of xp that mobs give you, back when 55 was the soft cap, and getting 56 was the equivalent of getting 58 today. it takes around 30-40 hours to grind from 57-58 with no buffs, sure this looks like a "Grind" if you were to do it in a very short period of time, but when you start looking at levelling as an investment over a couple weeks or months it suddenly ceases to be a grind. There is a daily 30 minute 200%xp buff, at 57 you can easily get yourself 4-5% in those 30 minutes at the weekend. do this 30 min buff every day and youll be 59 in no time.
Yeah that's what I tried to point out since this game has gone through so many iterations, which is why the numbers could vary greatly depending on the buffs you have.
the real endgame its sell your account on playerauction.com and use that money you earned to play any other mmo, specially a free to play one or cheap one, not really matter the choice since all them are more enjoyable than BDO and are free of "unconveniences", "hiden cash grabs" and "RNG casino", or just put all the money over your bed and sleep on it.
You make me feel like I'm back in math class ... way too many spreadsheets, sorry. IMO when I have to start busting out Excel to "enjoy" my game, I'm not. Also, I don't think you really explained endgame other than saying some of the things you can do AT "the end". e.g. WoW is tiers of raiding or pvp. In BDO do I basically have a cooking or auto-fishing sim? Would have been nice to GET more out of this but thanks for the efforts.
what do you consider "low AP" ??? what AP should i have for pirates .... have like 130AP , cant grind at sausans becouse PK (especialy now when there is new area at sausans that draws geared players here) , cant enter desert and grinding helms etc would take FOREVER to level up ....
I got confused when you started to talk about enchanting. I think you meant Enhancing. Enchanting is a different mechanic altogether that raises green gear to blue and yellow. It uses Reform stones.
@@Renerised it is as long as nobody is teaching you the different ways around end game but if you got a friend that helps you I can tell you its truly a unique experience just don't play solo like that guy says you'll end up quitting if you hardcore the game on your own .
Thanks, great Video! So its better to save a lot of Money and buy full upgraded gear from the market? This is also something i thought about because you could save a lot of Money you would loose by failing,
If you want to PvP 60 lvl is needed. I reroled and have 59 lvl with new class full TET gear with TRI accesories (520gear score) and I must admit I need lvl 60 for PvP (Battlegrounds, nodewars, good spot contesting)
Lol when you have to get out a real world spreadsheet out to aid playing a computer game where nothing is tangible or real, truly meaningful or worthwhile in the context of everyday life then yeah I would get out too...
I come from Maplestory which has always been a grindfest. I been reading a lot of BDO but there's still one thing I can't put my finger on it. In MS, you spend A LOT (whether cash or ingame currency) to get yourself enchanted, great gear. You use that gear to defeat those end game instanced bosses. In BDO, what's the purpose of the gear? From what I read, there is no dungeons, only world bosses but considering it's open to everyone and everyone gets a reward if they contribute, I don't see the necessity of top notch gear. If someone can answer this for me, I'd be delighted.
in BDO there is not instances, bosses are out of dungeons and are mostly a meme, you dont even really needs armor to get your reward, the endgame armor its only used to bully low level players and guilds PVP. I played many other asian mmos, and the grind fest on BDO i promissie you will make you lose your gf and family before you get a decent loot.
I am wondering, the only comparison it has to WoW is that you try to get stronger, but why would you get stronger in BDO? so you can grind your thousands of mobs faster? I understand the grind to get stronger to fight tougher mobs, like now in WoW with the mythic+ dungeons. it is something I'm missing in BDO, just to grind with the aim so you can grind faster feels a bit of an empty goal.
But still making your toon more stronger, and pvping are still options in BDO, and there is a lot to explore and a lot of quests still. Just not end-game instances like WoW I think. In WoW you do World Quests, then you have to do raiding (with a guild)
Nodes come through CP. We'll be covering that in the next video. CP is very important and is obtained through questing and some crafting, like the byproduct in making beer.
Im playing this, My goal is only to explore, leveling up is time I dont have anymore, seems boring DX dang 30% to get frustrated even before keep playing after seeing this video xD
there is a quest to get a boat the eye of the triangle or idk the name anymore but it makes you go through an adventure in the sea and gives you a boat and teaches you about boats a true new experience of exploration if you into that kind of thing cuz the sea is like 2 or 3 times the dry land map
whaa...? i dont get your question really... all i said is that you do NOT need boss gear if you're not interested in pvp since its such a pain to get compared to ulti grunil. TRI ulti grunil gets you through all the pve content in the game if you dont go fight dark red/purple mobs and suck complete ass. thats all iam saying ,of course boss gear is better ,smh.
if they could change the xp you get from professions, so you actualy could reach LVL 61 would be nice for end game. cause now all profession is, is money grinding for better gear so you can grind mobs faster. but you get more money out of grinding anyway so it sort of makes you fell your wasting time. only in the long run you get high enough LVL to make your professions a sorter process for large income.
I tryed0 this game and sold it again to a friend...but it wa sin the very start of the release. Has this game gotten better or ar ethe monsters still mindless boring and easy keyboard smashing grindy ? Worth 10 $? I realy miss a good mmorpg..the gfz are great but the gameplay is meh i guess `?!
Ok I got this. It takes alote of real time to lvl and grind! Or do anything!! If you don't pay! It can take up to months! Even years to get your object! This game ain't for people who have a career or hobbies!
One major mistake you just said here, "grind pirates until u can go in valencia", no, grind pirates whenever u can, pirates is the best exp in the game, maybe pila ku is better but i really doubt it, pila ku is for 220+ap tho
Full loot is sort of an old school idea. Doesn't really exist much in most MMOs. There was a few survival games that have this mechanic, but once you implement it you cannot really have much level/gear progression. DayZ, hurtworld, maybe this new Conan game might have this though.
peoples enjoy this? killing 500k pirates? hella grind dude!!! and this is coming from a runescape player but atleast there is some kind of variety to that game...
interesting....most of BDO white knights are ex-runescape players and some ex-WOW players, for my experience i think ex-runescape players defend BDO until they find out the real hiden stuff on BDO and how boring can be it, and ex-wow players, well they will be happy with anything with better graphics than a PS1 game, and will be happy to overpay anything just to brag around that they have tons of money irl.
i know im mad late but you didnt get what hes saying he is saying you say an E before xp when you should just say XP and you say EXP i know you dgaf but just sayin :P
why is it all these games always make it super easy to get from 1 to almost level cap, and then decide the last 10 or so levels needs to be INSANELY grindy? why the fuck not just stay on pace? why does it need to be so grindy just to reach max level. max level is where the fun begins, so why put such a huge barrier in front of it? fucking getting 0.1-0.2% per mob at 50, wont even begin to imagine how little you are getting at 56+ rofl, shit is putting me off.
ANTERIOR lmao idk bout u but I just started a week ago and got from 50-55 at sausans pretty easily wit a party then I got to 56 the day after and I only played like 2-3 hours I think?
the points is that 56 is the max level, it wasnt that hard to get there. The levels beyond that are completely and utterly unnecessary, its not like you need to be lvl 60 to equip boss gear or someshit
well, even if it's just to 56, i still didn't like the grindiness of it. it makes no sense to me why you can't just quest at a regular, normal pace to "max" or soft level cap, and then be done with it. instead, you have to either find a group or run solo and kill the same mobs over and over and over and over again till you hit soft level cap. it's a really shitty design. but to each his own.
"That's all World of Warcraft really is" That doesn't sound much different than any other MMO on the market. Even BDO has scripted world boss fights that completely random people get together and do. Not sure how people in a guild are randoms tho. Btw you left out the pvp aspects of World of Warcraft in your little rant.
If you have your nodes set up along with farming + value pack you can make 300m a week easy, You can make way more than that too. At that point artisans are redundant.
Woah sorry but i dont think this video is helpful at all. Everybody knows getting better gear is a part of the endgame and you only talk about it over and over again for 16 min while only adding that "buy this from pearl shop, buy that from pearl shop". I think everyone can think about getting value pack or repair kits.
Don't know why u stuck on artisan memory? That isn't really necessary to enchant endgame gear. Well some people use them in enchanting but 9 of 10 people doing enchanting without artisan memory. But overall it's nice guide beside that miss leading talk about artisan memory.
At some point in game getting milions of silver isn't big deal and on that point spending tons of money isn't problem :P Rest gonna say in next person msg.
its simple. 3=1. you dont get it because you dont want to get it. i know you dont pay for mf. u are maybe endgame geared and u achieved it without. but you deny it just because your inner is so fucking frustrated by the need of earning mathematicly 66% more of some other guys doing the exact same thing but converting mf into 3mf, like jesus. here we go. its like saying jesus bread story is not considered as a miracle; you split something precious and you have 3 times more, well you have 3 times more. its fucking magic. and fucking usefull. So okay its only for weapons and armors. And without mf you can achieve full tet in one or two year depending of your time investment, after that the mf are I guess only good to sell, or repair boss gear used for failstacking. At full tet you have your feets at the same ground of everybody that's right. But with mf, you did it 3 times quicker than you should.
+Viens Onestbien lol think before you speak. Know what youre talking about before tying WRONG and random shit. Follow these rules and you might not look like an idiot.
Very easy to listen to and great tips. Thank you!
Why TH-cam didn't gave u the check mark? lol
Cryy :P
Miss you 🥲
Lvling up to 56 is the best, its all down hill from there. Honestly unless you have missions to go on its quite gray and dull

Thank you so much... tark.
This was THE series i was looking for. Good stuff man, easy to follow.
Great, started playing BDO again, doing some great research on crates and trading! Will post videos on that soon to become a CRATE MASTER
Just started the game since it came to xbox and gotta say this video helped me understand things a good bit. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the insight. I rather take my chances on the Marketplace than Enchanting. I don't want to get too bitter about RNG in this game.

Dark Knight video coming out soon! (Today or tomorrow)
Really good video, way betterand straight forward than the last 10 I watched
but what's the end game? grind mobs, trading or pay rl money for gears and that's it? the crafting, follower and everything r all for gear, just sounds so pointless

Ahahaha, that cooking excel - did the same on day 3 of my BDO experience :)
I’d say maybe the ROAD TO endgame begins at 56, but really 1-50 is tutorial, and 51-56 is beginner learning phase without the training wheels
I droped the first like... come on guys hit that like button!

artisans memory can also be bought with loyalty. just and FYI. you don't have to spend money on it
nice joke, bring your free loyalties and free pets, i m gonna melt your character in 0.1 seconds with my TET Visa card
Earauka no need to be acting all high and mighty lol im sure your one subscribed would be more than happy to agree with me

I reroll pretty much when they release a new class to try it out and have fun :)

Yup.
wow, well this was a great video, but it sure did turn me away from the game.
What turned you away?
the unholy amount of grinding to be done.

Top gear is mostly for pvp from what I understand
in BDO there is not instances, bosses are out of dungeons and are mostly a meme, you dont even really needs armor to get your reward, the endgame armor its only used to bully low level players and guilds PVP. I played many other asian mmos, and the grind fest on BDO i promissie you will make you lose your gf and family before you get a decent loot.
What do you do for a living? I sense it's related to economics and finance?
lol if you think this video is bad, wait till you see the new video I'm uploading tonight!
i think he ask , cuz u use excell tabels and calculate almost everything
Can I not use real money to buy the best gear?
I am wondering, the only comparison it has to WoW is that you try to get stronger, but why would you get stronger in BDO? so you can grind your thousands of mobs faster? I understand the grind to get stronger to fight tougher mobs, like now in WoW with the mythic+ dungeons. it is something I'm missing in BDO, just to grind with the aim so you can grind faster feels a bit of an empty goal.
That is one major criticism of BDO. In WoW you have end game instances and boss mechanics. This doesn't exist in BDO.
But still making your toon more stronger, and pvping are still options in BDO, and there is a lot to explore and a lot of quests still. Just not end-game instances like WoW I think. In WoW you do World Quests, then you have to do raiding (with a guild)
Hey should i just level to max without opening nodes and then do all of that later ?
Nodes come through CP. We'll be covering that in the next video. CP is very important and is obtained through questing and some crafting, like the byproduct in making beer.
Im playing this, My goal is only to explore, leveling up is time I dont have anymore, seems boring DX dang 30% to get frustrated even before keep playing after seeing this video xD
where do i buy a boat from? i can never get one from the market place
You can buy a scroll from the dock master they have things from small fishing ships to rafts.
ah ok cool I'll have to keep my eye open for one. thank you
there is a quest to get a boat the eye of the triangle or idk the name anymore but it makes you go through an adventure in the sea and gives you a boat and teaches you about boats a true new experience of exploration if you into that kind of thing cuz the sea is like 2 or 3 times the dry land map
Instead of all that grinding for silver to buy better gear can't I just spend about 30 to 60 dollars USD and buy the gear I want?
It's a marketplace tutorial video
tri ultimate grunil gets you very far though ,boss gear is only really needed when you want to get into pvp ,wars etc. imo.
great point!
so.. you wanna say bheg gloves with A LOT of precision is better for pvp than pve?... alllright
whaa...? i dont get your question really... all i said is that you do NOT need boss gear if you're not interested in pvp since its such a pain to get compared to ulti grunil. TRI ulti grunil gets you through all the pve content in the game if you dont go fight dark red/purple mobs and suck complete ass. thats all iam saying ,of course boss gear is better ,smh.
i love your voice
Thanks
if they could change the xp you get from professions, so you actualy could reach LVL 61 would be nice for end game. cause now all profession is, is money grinding for better gear so you can grind mobs faster. but you get more money out of grinding anyway so it sort of makes you fell your wasting time. only in the long run you get high enough LVL to make your professions a sorter process for large income.
Grinding, or active play should always reward more EXP than passive play imo, so this is fine
fullscreen pls....
Can't for some reason it won't record full screen. And I minimize a lot to afk to send it to tray.
This game is still very grindy.
SO basicly you grind ro better gear at end game and then what when ur gear is perfect " epic" or legendary,,then what ?
Exactly lol
Well there is some pvp, node wars, grinding mobs.
But this game still lacks a lot of end game content.
Ok thanks for ur answer and sorry for my bad typing, but i was eager to find out about this game :D
It's fine, humans often get nervous around me
Ok I got this. It takes alote of real time to lvl and grind! Or do anything!! If you don't pay! It can take up to months! Even years to get your object! This game ain't for people who have a career or hobbies!
This could be said if you want to be competitive in any MMO. However the node system allows for casual players to play as well and still be ok.
One major mistake you just said here, "grind pirates until u can go in valencia", no, grind pirates whenever u can, pirates is the best exp in the game, maybe pila ku is better but i really doubt it, pila ku is for 220+ap tho
Great info vid, but that AMOUNT OF GRINDING !!!!!
150 hours for 57 to 58? I did it in a day with 145ap
They have nerfed exp gain for higher levels to allow normies to get to end game content easier.
congrats you almost finished the game tutorial
The thing I like about MMOs is killing people and taking their stuff, any suggestions?
"Beginners Endgame Guide" - if someone play as many time as you need to go to endgame he won't be beginner anymore so that shit is dumb ;)
Yghuabhzzz mhm yeas mhm quack.
watching this in 2022 hahhaah
wrong. lvl > everything
Why do you say E-EX-PEE instead of EX-P you wouldnt say E-EX-PERIENCE youd just say EX-PERIENCE
1) Because it is easier to say, and everyone gets what I'm saying.
2) And it some games it is XP
3) I do it to annoy you
i know im mad late but you didnt get what hes saying
he is saying you say an E before xp when you should just say XP and you say EXP
i know you dgaf but just sayin :P
why is it all these games always make it super easy to get from 1 to almost level cap, and then decide the last 10 or so levels needs to be INSANELY grindy? why the fuck not just stay on pace? why does it need to be so grindy just to reach max level. max level is where the fun begins, so why put such a huge barrier in front of it? fucking getting 0.1-0.2% per mob at 50, wont even begin to imagine how little you are getting at 56+ rofl, shit is putting me off.
ANTERIOR lmao idk bout u but I just started a week ago and got from 50-55 at sausans pretty easily wit a party then I got to 56 the day after and I only played like 2-3 hours I think?
i uninstalled after 55, so i dont know
Christian hook me up with that group you were with. I can never find players at Sausans who aren't there to PK
the points is that 56 is the max level, it wasnt that hard to get there.
So basically grind mindless boring mobs by spamming AoE skills, that's the whole endgame. Wow....yeah no thanks.
"thats all world of warcraft really is" LMAO
"That's all World of Warcraft really is"
That doesn't sound much different than any other MMO on the market. Even BDO has scripted world boss fights that completely random people get together and do. Not sure how people in a guild are randoms tho. Btw you left out the pvp aspects of World of Warcraft in your little rant.
end game p2w??? are u kidding me??? no one really uses artisan mem LOL
Go on... lol
not p2w, p2togoendgamequicker (3times quicker)
If you have your nodes set up along with farming + value pack you can make 300m a week easy, You can make way more than that too. At that point artisans are redundant.
u sir, need to give me node classes
The one i use is already on the TH-cam's :P
thanks for reminding me why i should keep far away from this p2w bs game, cheers
Mate how have you made everything sound boring and suicidal? Make your point and move on. Same words over and over
Ashes of Creation..BDO will die soon
martin luther that game look ight.. but CU will kill both ;p
martin luther unfortunly its a monthly subscription which i can afford but my friends can not :/
Woah sorry but i dont think this video is helpful at all.
Because it saves you million's of silver? lol
At some point in game getting milions of silver isn't big deal and on that point spending tons of money isn't problem :P Rest gonna say in next person msg.
RNG
its simple. 3=1. you dont get it because you dont want to get it. i know you dont pay for mf. u are maybe endgame geared and u achieved it without. but you deny it just because your inner is so fucking frustrated by the need of earning mathematicly 66% more of some other guys doing the exact same thing but converting mf into 3mf, like jesus.
here we go. its like saying jesus bread story is not considered as a miracle; you split something precious and you have 3 times more, well you have 3 times more. its fucking magic. and fucking usefull.
