It's for these exact reasons that I stopped playing Train Sim World and Train Sim Classic and looked for other, better sims like Sim Rail for example. I would recommend Sim Rail for anybody looking for more realism and more detail in a train simulator. Of course, that game is still in early access but the devs are relasing new content on a regular basis and the scenery is pretty decent (might not be UK or US trains but the experience is all that matters in my opinion). I stopped playing train sim world because these things you spoke about in this video just became all too common and it really pains me to see my true passion for trains being completely underepresented in games like this. The poor graphics, gameplay gltches, lack of content for North American (especially Canadian) railroads has always been a huge disappointment for me. Lack of complete routes as well (while not realistic they should at least try and see how it ends up working), lack of realism such as sounds and operational systems such as TPWS in the UK or ETCS Level's 1 and 2 in Europe, Positive Train Control in the US and Canada, so on. If anything I'd love to see three gameplay modes: Classic scenario mode, guard/conductor mode, adaptive timetable mode (where there's a chance of different situations occuring during a timetabeled service like a disruptive customer or a tree fallen on the line cutting the service short, stuff like that) to add more realism to the game. I know they're attempting to expand their playerbase by making the game simpler, but for hardcore railfans like us it feels like we got left in the cold. We have high expectations from games that call themselves simulators because they're supposed to simulate in game the stuff we foam over in real life. If players that don't want to experience those things don't want them in the game, the devs should add options into gameplay settings to turn those things off or there should be a preset of gameplay settings geared toward different players such as "inexperienced/leisure" or "hardcore simulation". All in all (I know thise turned out to be an essay, sorry), I'm really dissapointed that Dovetail put out a product like this and calls it "complete". After seeing how dissapointing trains sim world 4 was I vowed not to give them anymore of my money because it just wasn't worth it anymore. It seems that the community has been completely left out as they follow the model of EA to release a new game every year that's a carbon copy of the previous game with minor additions to gameplay and graphics and call it a new game for the purposes of increasing their profit margins. Of course, I mean no disprespect to people who like the game and are willing to buy it, none at all. I'm just saying that in my own opinion, the appeal of this game has passed and I've moved on to something I like more. I encourage all fans of realism in games that call themselves simulators to do the same.
The problem with simrail is that it's heavily mp focused. Sp content is almost nonexistent. Trains are clunky to drive and there's barely a tutorial. What exactly is a complete route. A US freight route is coast to coast. You really expect dtg to just model several thousand miles and charge at such a low price because players think current pricing is expensive and expect dtg to make a profit? The issue with making every single route and train expert mode is the amount of work required to create it. You would end up getting like 1 dlc every 5 years and prices would have to go up like with the expert 101 and even that got poor reviews. Tsw needs to strike a balance so it's not to hard and not to easy.

This is what happens when you're rushing for money so much. Instead of having everything promised for the previous game, you make an entirely new game and move all the old game stuff to a whole different game. Or "the same game", sorry. Once again, Quantity over Quality
For me this west coast route should have been from Milton Keynes to Manchester Piccadilly then again the creator haven’t really impressed the passengers for example there’s no kids travelling with parents!!!!!! It’s obvious the creators ain’t parents pmsl
I don't understand the phenomenon of a game where you have to accelerate a train and then stop it in 50 minutes. In the meantime, you can watch an episode of your favorite TV series.
That's just the least of it. Using this free "Starter pack" to upgrade previous versions to the newer one with just a few features and keeping the new routes behind a paywall is a major spit in the face to the f2p crowd who have done their absolute best to stay optimistic about this franchise. But now, I can't even feel bad for it anymore.
Simrail players: When do you release something, take our money. TSW players left the chat. Yes, that is what people think, because Simrail is slow but at a great quality and also at a reasonable price. Shame on DTG, their game is (unlike Simrail) not in early access, but has much more bugs while still not providing features promised from 2016 to 2021 (Multiplayer).
@@potatoman451 I’m honest, it also feels more realistic in any way. And it’s not much harder to learn how to play, the game is just in an area many of us don’t really know. But yes, TSW is better for a casual player as long as money is irrelevant.
When they have nothing other than a early build to show than they should cancel any streams weeks before release. They should stream their stuff 3 - 4 days before release whith the release version (if they say we have no time for densed streaming, then make it possible!) At this point DTG TSW has turned into EA FIFA or Madden. Sky high asking prices for everything, low bar effort across the board. Yet people are still foolish enough to purchase from new??? Stick with Train Sim Classic.
Thanks for that. Now I am going to stay with TSC. I was going to buy the deluxe version for £60 but I cannot justify it for one route and one train. No Class 60 nor Et44AC locomotive . No sweat I will just buy this garbage in a sale in late 2025.
Why don't they just give something to the customers??? GREED GREED GREED Need I say more. Years ago you paid £50.00 or more for a game with it complete. Now it's buy add ons and buy new whole game and we then find TSW 4 is being withdrawn support just like the rest. It's about time we complain about what is going on. So really we are held to ransom the only ones who win is Dovetail.
Better just keep it on train sim World instead of every year a new version. Just updated it and sell new routes and loco's. O.k. You can use the trains and routes in the new versions. And I have them all but I think a lot of people don't bye the new versions and also don't buy the newest route if they have like tsw3 and with just upgrading for free you guys sold more routes and trains. Because some people don't have the mone for every year to buy a game en if it is just one game with free upgrates they can buy a route or loco. for the same money they spend on a new game buying.
Train sim world 1 was amazong, groundbreaking even. All they've done since is release the same copy and paste game every time, with an disgraceful extortionate DLC pricing model. One DLC route costs as much as the game itself. Imagine if they had $/£/€10 pricing model for each route, im sure they would outsell what they do now because it wouldnt be a wallet breaking purchase to pick up a few new routes.
I wish TSG developed TSW instead of DTG. Niddertalbahn is the level of detail that every map should have, and no train from DTG should honestly have less detail than the 101 Expert. If a team of developers can make the 101 on their free time in a year, a studio like DTG should be able to have the same standard for their trains.
They spent 18 months only focusing on one train. Once you add in more trains (not every train can be expert btw because some operators are paranoid) on top of timetable and the route, you are looking at double or even triple the cost to account for all that. It would also take several years to create a single route since you're also expecting 1:1 realism. Would you be willing to pay like $100 for one route? Expert mode doesn't happen in a quick time and it immensely increases development time and cost. Tsg are only a very small team unfortunately
@potatoman451 For a game advertised as an authentic simulator, we should get high quality trains across the board and DTG are capable of doing so as they have done in the past. Quit making excuses.
@@potatoman451 Yeah, TSG is a small team. They even said that many of them did the 101 development in their spare time. My point is that with a much smaller team and smaller budget, TSG managed to do what DSG hasn't achieved: an authentic study-level simulator. I'll happily pay more for DLCs if it means that I can do more than control the throttle/break. For DCS the DLCs are expensive but well made and that game has been around since 2008 with a community that's bigger than ever.
Im not surpised tbh i noticed some werid stuff going on tsw4 with the graphics even on a series X and ps5... (ps5 was a recent ish buy and regret it since i saw the tsw5 announcement a few days after i got it... ) I remember seeing the trailer to 5 and had a wtf why is their a new one when 4 is still being played a bit and enjoyed and dlc was suppose to be coming out for it (a bit upset that the japan route got pushed to 5) Im honestly going to try it through gamepass not wasting 50 bucks on a more broken game thats more of a storage hog then call of duty (i havent played cod in a while but mw3 was about the size of tsw4 with half the dlc installed...
Over promise and under deliver, they take too much on with the resources they have. Seen it so many times before, especially when things take more work than they expect. If we really want high quality we have to rely on 3rd party such as Just Trains and High Iron Simulations (High Iron have a TSW 5 route in development, details pending per their FB page). But, nevertheless DTG still need to aim and attain high levels.
So the flagship route of this new £45 game no one wanted has no real sounds on its premium £13 train. And no licenses for the base train. Welcome to DTG everyone
Now I am worry for the Dutch route of The Netherlands too that is being in development. A country that I have been waiting for, for a a very long time. If this will happen to the Dutch route, I will stop buying TSW games. Than the long waiting was a waste of time. I have decided to go for the Free Starter Upgrade. I already have the previous TSW games.
I’m hoping everything will be fixed soon so that I can start playing (hopefully the early access day isn’t changed or cancelled) will the date for early access still be the same?
I bet this is just to trigger raging from the tsw DTG Haters, Literally the only problem is the LNWR Licencing being removed. The 390 sounds being off and thats it. It isn't even out yet, Give it a chance you fool.
Rivet definitely made the timetable too. The lack of off map destinations and the complete lack of realism are a dead giveaway. Yet again they allow Rivet to ruin another UK route.
And you have evidence about that? Rivet don't make timetables for dtg routes. It's a dtg flagship product, not a rivet one. You also do realize dtg have made incomplete timetables in the past

train sim world and any train sim is more of a game or archadey style game there false advertising its a simulator when its really not there very non consistent with dlc features and other stuff and licensing in general is a gray area railraods have every right to revoke a licensing agreement if they find anything wrong or if they just feel like its part of there brand to work with a game or dovetail could have violated the railroads terms and conditions with licensing. I know amtrak is very hard on not heavy weathering and a lot of railroads are very hard on grafity on equipment hence why model railroad manufactures dont add weathering or stuff to engines and rolling stock it all depends on the railroads agreement and contract.

GSM-R is the cab radio, it’s not usually used for trains talking to eachother (unless assisting a failure), it’s mainly for contacting the signal box. There is an emergency button which can stop all trains in a 6 mile radius which is handy in an emergency.
Get the free upgrade then wait for a sale if you don't want to pay full price. I'm not surprised anymore. Hopefully there will be enhancement mods quickly
This route is a complete and utter joke. -The LNWR last minute debranding has ruined the look of the 350 and many stations (Albeit I'm sure mods and livery designer will fix those issues) -The scenery is atrocious (I've ridden the full route in real life, there's many, many inconsistencies) -The lack of changeable displays when the "new" 377 variant already has the ability to do so is just severely lazy -The lighting and effects are atrocious -The 390 sounds like a 377 at any speed above 30mph.. -The PIS screens also have the same issue as the 390 displays, they seemingly only show all services as going to Milton Keynes.. And that's just the many issues I personally spotted. The single saving grace currently is the 350 itself (Hopefully they fix those bugs before release though) - JT's WCML Over Shap is 1000% going to blow any good qualities this route still has out of the water, I can't wait to see more previews of it.

This is what happens when you're rushing for money so much. Instead of having everything promised for the previous game, you make an entirely new game and move all the old game stuff to a whole different game. Or "the same game", sorry. Once again, Quantity over Quality
the SB line won’t be regarded as the worst route now 💀
For me this west coast route should have been from Milton Keynes to Manchester Piccadilly then again the creator haven’t really impressed the passengers for example there’s no kids travelling with parents!!!!!! It’s obvious the creators ain’t parents pmsl
officially released on 26 September 2023 this isn't even a year yet since TSW 4 was released. How unfair paid
I don't understand the phenomenon of a game where you have to accelerate a train and then stop it in 50 minutes. In the meantime, you can watch an episode of your favorite TV series.
Stupid question: What is meant with suspension? For those not understanding why I would ask that, English is not my native language.
The train bounces at joints and junctions
@@potatoman451 That makes sense, thank you.
also the performance. when is dovetail gonna fix the microstutters???
I mean the livery is already back on the community store and a litle birdy tells me you can get the rest of the branding on some... other places
putting the 390 behind a paywall is just greedy
Simrail is only for those who want mp, more realism and dispatching. Tsw is good for the casual player
They should stream their stuff 3 - 4 days before release whith the release version (if they say we have no time for densed streaming, then make it possible!) But honestly we all know that nothing much would change from their showed versions
I think this Will be great . Positive attitude !
"track record"
I see what you did there 🤣
I am a real life pendilino driver. I’ll be interested to see how accurate this is
I was about to pre order the deluxe edition
whens the community ever happy
Hey thanks for the report! I'm a Canuck so I'm partial to NA routes, but also like the UK and German content too. The licensing issue isn't a deal breaker for me, but the other issues... maybe I'll hold off for a patch or two and stick to TSW4 (I've got almost all the dlc for it anyways). Congrats on the rebranding and quality reporting!
They need to make train sim world into 1 game and just keep updating the engine for it. Instead of releasing the same thing yearly.
I’ve downloaded some of the routes that comes with sim 5 and a cant play them and only kinda got the starter pack
The game should be pushed back to release next year in my opinion
Can’t TSW5/ Dovetail games add the old name which is London midland on the class 350
Just like with the wcml south in TS classic? Wouldn't be bad in my opinion
A game so bad LNWR doesn't consider it viable to continue bothering with TSW
I’m still getting TSW5 and the Deluxe edition
What fov mod are you using?
God mode. :)
I didn't watch the whole live but can you purchase the Pendolino without purchasing WCML South? I'd much rather use it on WCML North because that probably won't be as buggy because it's Just Trains not DTG
You can’t as it is a layer for wcml south so would need the route to be able to drive it on another route
@@I-NEED-DONUTS you don't. Starting with tsw3, you no longer need the home route. Besides, the 390 didn't exist in 1986 which is when just trains route is set
@@potatoman451 Good but yeah you're right it is set in 1986 but I would enjoy driving the 390 on there as it'll probably be much better made and the 390 does look good though the sounds might be crap
I ve been a fan of the franchise for years and now I hate the game because of the bugs, not even playing anymore 😂, tired of fals promises and lies
Can’t wait for the class 390 in Avanti livery
Overall, I think Dovetail needs to spend more time polishing and fixing their content rather than focussing on making new content.
hi matt the 390s arent locos there emus like the class 80x iet fleet and class 395 trains
Thanks for the correction! I usually just say locos as a universal term but you’re correct they are EMUs.
At this point DTG TSW has turned into EA FIFA or Madden.
2 trains
Why don't they just give something to the customers??? GREED GREED GREED Need I say more. Years ago you paid £50.00 or more for a game with it complete. Now it's buy add ons and buy new whole game and we then find TSW 4 is being withdrawn support just like the rest. It's about time we complain about what is going on. So really we are held to ransom the only ones who win is Dovetail.
They are giving the starter pack for free
@@potatoman451 But it says nothing is included apart from the training centre
@@ziggy0201 you get your older content
Loool... Don't worry, the fanboys will find reasons to protect their overload Matt Peddleson.
Bro, try out the forums you get on there for some help. And it's like talking to foreign children
Dovetail? More like disappointment tail
Licenses are out of dtgs control. That's entirely dependent on lnwr.
They couldn't record a real train either.
The world isn't perfect
Now I am worry for the Dutch route of The Netherlands too that is being in development. A country that I have been waiting for, for a a very long time. If this will happen to the Dutch route, I will stop buying TSW games. Than the long waiting was a waste of time. I have decided to go for the Free Starter Upgrade. I already have the previous TSW games.
Or you can use the editor but not still it commercially and you should have little issues
in my opinion it looks dreadful, will still be getting it but, i was expecting better
I’m hoping everything will be fixed soon so that I can start playing (hopefully the early access day isn’t changed or cancelled) will the date for early access still be the same?
People can just make the LNWR in creators club
I bet this is just to trigger raging from the tsw DTG Haters, Literally the only problem is the LNWR Licencing being removed. The 390 sounds being off and thats it.
It isn't even out yet, Give it a chance you fool.
The graphic quality of TSW5 still have a big distance from MSFS 2020 as a simulation of today. Especially the driving cab, look not realistic.
You're comparing apples to oranges by bringing msfs into the picture
It's been like this from the old train simulator.. new splash screen and add +1 in the title and call it a new game
how ever im not surprised tho
so it should be a lot cheaper-
Ok now im considering refunding but i will see what else they screw up
The overall route seemed fine to me, besides lighting, but oh man that timetable is just terrible.
Why is there a new version of this game every 5 seconds when there’s not much to change. Focus on quality over quantity
🤣😂🤣so bad for UK 😂😂😂 because all way happened from DCG and when game is out still need fixing again 😂🤣🤣🤣like all way happened in TSW
Could DTG just stop copy pasting the previous games with minor changes and improvements that could simply be implemented in an update
does anyone care at the first place? they do 1-2 changes every year and charge 110 for it (if you go highest edition) ridiculous!
It literally looks the exact same as tsw4 like wtf Even Tsw4 Lightning looks better
@@potatoman451 DTG have never got off map destinations wrong. Rivet always do. And DTG have refused to answer if they did the timetable. It’s a Rivet product.
@@Colt-bd2mv oh just because there's 1 issue means rivet made the product? You realize dtg can also make mistakes right? Like I said before, even dtg makes incomplete timetables and can get destinations incorrect sometimes but it doesn't automatically make it a rivet route
@@potatoman451 no. DTG do not make those mistakes. That is a specific Rivet issue. And DTG at least make realistic scenarios. This one is fictional. Another specific Rivet quality. Stay in denial if you want but Rivet did the timetable.
@Colt-bd2mv Potatoman451 is just a DTG/Rivet shill that constantly defends them for underdelivering when it is blatantly obvious what the issues are
I ain't brought a TSW since TSW2 was released, I have more fun playing Aurans Trainz then DTG hyped bs TSW every year, it's a cash grab, they remind me of EA sports.
Neutral sections are automatic lol. No routes feature a functional dead section.
So pretty much the whole game is just a whole workin progress? Laterally NOTHING works 😂i mean logo issues, suspension issue's, the game just not working, its not even worth investing in
I saw you in the stream it was good but not as good as I thought saying that it's dovetail so....
train sim world and any train sim is more of a game or archadey style game there false advertising its a simulator when its really not there very non consistent with dlc features and other stuff and licensing in general is a gray area railraods have every right to revoke a licensing agreement if they find anything wrong or if they just feel like its part of there brand to work with a game or dovetail could have violated the railroads terms and conditions with licensing. I know amtrak is very hard on not heavy weathering and a lot of railroads are very hard on grafity on equipment hence why model railroad manufactures dont add weathering or stuff to engines and rolling stock it all depends on the railroads agreement and contract.
This is just dume.... This is the worst thing they have done now... This has gone to far foe Dovetail!!😡😡😡😡 You guys just sue Dovetail right now for makeing the same game over and over again!!😡😡
And other companies that make the same game over and over again shouldn't?
@@potatoman451you are a fanboy shut up kid
@@potatoman451Tell me at least 10 reasons why Dovetail is not a cash grabbing company
So there no west coast main line
It's so werid that the branding is the biggest issue people have 😐 ok
honestly the least of my concerns. I just want an accurate, fully functional route with a great timetable. Personal preference.
What even is GSM-R?
It's how trains talk to each other, and to the dispatcher. It's built on the same system that cell phones functioned on in the 90s (GSM)
Hopefully there will be enhancement mods quickly
just play simrail atp
This route is a complete and utter joke.
-The LNWR last minute debranding has ruined the look of the 350 and many stations (Albeit I'm sure mods and livery designer will fix those issues)
-The scenery is atrocious (I've ridden the full route in real life, there's many, many inconsistencies)
-The lack of changeable displays when the "new" 377 variant already has the ability to do so is just severely lazy
-The lighting and effects are atrocious
-The 390 sounds like a 377 at any speed above 30mph..
Nothing they can do about the license
@@potatoman451 I know, but it still does ruin the feel.
