I’m an Englishmen and always been interested in sharks and the prospect of them being closer to home. I’d like to see a video on why they wouldn’t be in this area as appose to why they should. The lack of evidence suggests that this would be a logical way to go imo
Have read some articles on this subject. One suggests that the seal population in Irish/British waters is not comparable to South Africa's, which runs into the millions. So although the water temperature is within their range, there is an insufficient food source to maintain a resident population. The other, is that the White Shark has just not discovered the waters yet.
@@jellynicecream1967 there actually aren't enough seals around the U.K to sustain Whites year round but that doesn't stop the sharks visiting our waters.
Mediterranean white sharks at one time fed on seals until the population of seals dwindled. White sharks still exist in the med surviving on tuna and dolphins. If the world had more great whites im sure they would appear around uk and Ireland. There just arnt that many worldwide.
There are tons of man eating sharks around British waters. Mako, Porbeagle, Thresher and even blue sharks could easily shred a fully grown man in seconds and they are abundant in our waters. It’s very likely that white sharks are here too.
@@ukunboxings2242 In your waters maybe. Can't see how sharks are going to stop migrants getting a ferry from Scotland to the North or how it's going to stop them getting on a Ryanair flight from England and then dumping their passports.
Unfortunately, the EU has decimated the fish populations around Ireland and the UK, no fish for sea lions, so not enough food for shark's, leave the sea alone for a couple of decades and then look
So I presume that Ocearch were unable to find even a single great white on their European expedition which is indeed strange and bizarre since where are all the great whites now or migrating to. Seems they continue to remain elusive for now.
My favourite part of Ireland now possibly with my favourite shark. No doubt if the seals are found by Great Whites they will come stay and bred. That will produce another tourist avenue of 'Shark Tours'. Amazing!
There already are, plenty of species that can easily kill. Just no confirmed great whites yet. It's rare to encounter sharks but getting in any ocean is a risk.
@@readesiun988 I’ve swam in Irish waters fairly frequently my entire life and have never come across them. Seals and even dolphins, but no sharks. Perhaps they are in deeper waters but I’d like them to stay out there.
shark come to the nearest man, that man he starts poundin’ and hollerin’ and sometimes that shark he go away… but sometimes he wouldn’t go away. Sometimes that shark looks right at ya. As much as think a Great White is great (no pun) for Irish and British waters, it's not going to be so great to 1st unlucky victim who decides to go swimming, or surfing. It's all good until it kills someone they think it's a seal.
We should start a great white shark breeding programme in the English channel.
The great anti immigration policy 😬
Sharks with laser beams attached to their backs.

Scotland has the largest seal population in all of Europe. Plenty of food around the UK/Irish Coastline to sustain them

No.

Great white sharks have been witnessed by numerous Irish people over the years, usually from inside the belly of the shark.
