Billy did you say -4 that's what I love about your mini movies. I'm thinking I'm wrong .I'm from Illinois but for some reason I love your way of fishing
Well well frozen worms work every where apart from Wales 🙂 now you tell me 😂 look at Billy proper fishing 🤣🤣 Awesome as always brother see you on the rocks 😘
There's these things called hooks, right! And you put worms on them, right! And then you put them in the sea, Right 🤣 how do you do it Wales😅 thanks Matt😁👌
Great video as usual mate , and yeah you’re right, if an angler in the uk was catching fish like those from the shore they’d be more than happy,, awesome stuff mate 👍👍🤠
Hey Billy, I didn't realise it at first but I have learned so much from watching your videos. Pretty much all of the fish on your dongle are hooked in the front of the mouth. This massively increases fish survival on being returned. I have been watching other videos in preparation for my trip to Norway and so many fish are really deep-hooked and then returned. Hmm. I don't fancy their chances. Thank you for sharing your experience so freely. And yes, a session like this in the UK would be a red letter day!
Hi David. I'm glad you brought this up, the South Africans fished pennle rigs for years? And they noticed that most fish fell to the top hook. Circle hooks at the time were mostly fished from boats, and then between a blend of carp fishing and boat fishing! the Dingle dangle was born. This is why I call the method in the video the flatfish hair! What is only really suited to small fish. It works better than two hooks, it works better than j hooks. Hope your trip to Norway is fantastic. Tight lines Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch I saw another video where a couple of guys had over 60 spawning-size cod. They were all deep hooked. They were even bragging about how the cod were big enough to engulf their massive baits. They t-barred them and returned them. There was some research done in the US in a trout fishery comparing the mortality of returned fish that were fly or bait caught. Fly caught was like 1%. Bait caught mortality was over 90%. The cause? bait fish were deep hooked. A t-bar might get the hook out but the fish will likely die. Thanks for making me really think about this. I have a whole bunch of dongles made up now in varying sizes, and a whole range of circles to try.
Great video billy, Ive just caught up on your videos 👌,I had a great time out in Norway ,but lots of small fish around ,nothing to shout about,,great fun but not glamorous enough for TH-cam😂,, lucky I got yours to watch ,top man,😉👍🇳🇴
Billy boy top notch as usual, nearly at 10k you deserve 100k,you must be sick of eating fish cos you didn't take your tea today lol, keep up the good work, great channel bro
Thanks Brother Billy see what you mean. The flaties were not playing the game but nice days fishing. Just had 2 weeks on cheisel beach only 2 storm's not a bite. Heavy tackle lose. Will try again next year. COD cash on delivery? I paid but it didn't deliver, thanks brother Billy.
Hi Bud. TH-cam is very time consuming, when you upload at least once a week. And I just don't have the time to add the tackle to the description. But if you need some advice on tackle, this is where I prefer to use my time. Glad you liked it brother. Thanks, see you on the beach 😁👌
Another fantastic video mate 👌🏻, as always. Quick question Billy, i seen on tv once a guy catching Wolf-fish from the shore in a fjord, would you ever come across them yourself? or is that another part of Norway? Keep up the great videos ! Much love from N.Ireland brother 🫡
Hi. You can catch wolf fish from north to south, but they are only where they are! What I mean is they're not that common. But sometimes you get many in one place, and then the size is not that great. So unless you have local knowledge they are quite difficult to target. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Great Video Billy. I am in God's River Manitoba Canada trying to catch walleye from the shore. Similar river system to your video. What rod and reel do you recommend to punch the bait out there like that. If you have a video like such maybe you can point me to it. Thanks in advance. Thien
Ho bud. Actually I'm fishing in the sea, not in a river. But I am using standard surf casting gear! Which would probably work pretty well for you. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Yes! But then you have to do the job of the level wind instead 👍 fill the holes where it used to be with the wax from cheese or something. And that will keep the water out 👌 thanks Brother 👍😁
Hey Billy, Q. Can you use wax as a coating on lead weights? Or does it rub away quickly? Another Q. Do fish respond to Black lights making things glow blue or green or purple? Is it worth trying?
Hi Jonathan. Yes bud, the wax will come off! Yes, fish do respond to light in the UV spectrum. A lot of lures have UV reactive coatings on them. Thanks Brother 😁👌
why not just use coasters, i tried the trigger reel fitting years ago, not only could i not tighten it enough but the trigger was in line, with a coaster you can off set the back one and get a better grip, cant remember the last time i caught as many codling as that in a session
Hi John. You are right! They are still selling those reel seats. I cannot stand it when people waste their good money and badly designed products. Century tackle, make good reel seats. Instead of a trigger it has a coaster on it, thanks Brother 😁👌
yes they do, but i will always use the coasters, like i said, i off set the front one a bit to the right and the back one a bit to the left, better grip in the wet and cold, that is of course when you are doing performance casting, many years ago when i had a PK7460 i think it was, that had a trigger on the fitting, but that was before i started field casting@@Billyfishing_watch
Hi Richard. Although I use slow pitch jigs from the shore! It does not work the same way as it does off boats. They are just jigs that have a slightly different action and cast slightly different distances. The rods I use, are shore jigging rods.
Hi John. Jigging makes fishing in Norway much more accessible to everybody. Because all you need is a box of lures and two rods, or even just one. On the plan you go, and a couple of hours later you're fishing in Norway. Glad you liked it brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
“I’m going to cast this one out a bit further, trying to avoid the cod”. Billy, Norway is spoiling you brother. Fish on🇳🇴🐟
Hey! it's hard going, this fishing lark 🤣 Thanks Brother 😁👌
Looks like paradise Billy! Most people think of some tropical island when they here that word, not me... bring me to the north! Cheers!
It's a magical place! And I stand with you, on this one. Thanks Joe😁👌
Thanks again Billy. Your free and candid advice is appreciated. Keep on fishing Boet.
Thanks Garrie. Much appreciated, glad you liked it brother 😁👌
Billy did you say -4 that's what I love about your mini movies. I'm thinking I'm wrong .I'm from Illinois but for some reason I love your way of fishing
Hi bud. I think it must get much colder where you are! Has the hard water fishing started yet? Thanks Brother 😁👌
Well well frozen worms work every where apart from Wales 🙂 now you tell me 😂 look at Billy proper fishing 🤣🤣 Awesome as always brother see you on the rocks 😘

No! Sick of cod. Never 🤢 🤣 Thanks Brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
I lost count of the fish, stunning scenery out there, another great vid😉
Hi bud. As it goes, I cut a lot of the fish out. Because the video would have gone on for ever 🤣 Thanks Brother 😁👌
Great video as usual mate , and yeah you’re right, if an angler in the uk was catching fish like those from the shore they’d be more than happy,, awesome stuff mate 👍👍🤠
That is it bud. You got to have bad days, to get good ones . Thanks Brother, much appreciated 😁👌

You never know, buddy. It might happen 😅 glad you liked it brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
We caught a few halibut on that very spot you are!
Nice! How big were they bud?
Hi Billy. just found you. subscribed. greetings from Austria. thanks for your nice content 👍
I didn't think, sea fishing would be very popular in your Austria. Thanks, Glad you liked it. See you on the beach Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch well, I was living 7 years on the gulf of biscay coast. and I am Italian. and I like Scandinavia 👋
I love Italy, I didn't catch so much. But I had a great time. The fishing around Biscay is really good, so nice fish!
Another fantastic video mate 👌🏻, as always.

Wrap a bit of insulating tape where you want your reel seat then slip it over the tape and attach the reel . No more twisting 👍
Thanks 😁👌
good stuff
Thanks Brother 😁👌
Favourite fisherman! 💪💪
Much appreciated, thanks Brother 😁👌
Hi Billy. I have 2 Abu 7000 reels with level winds. Would you remove these before fishing. Many thanks.👍👍
Yes! But then you have to do the job of the level wind instead 👍 fill the holes where it used to be with the wax from cheese or something. And that will keep the water out 👌 thanks Brother 👍😁
Good days fishing 👍
Yes it was, thanks Brother 😁👌
Nice one Billy 👍
My last two rods came with fuji seats, they slip too without a layer of insulation tape under them.
Thanks Daz. Century tackle have nice reel seats as well. 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch they're century rods, you would think they would put their own reel seats on as standard 🤔👍
Weird 🤔 are the rods I got off them, came with their real seat.
@@Billyfishing_watch oh well they're OK with tape under, they're not the "budget" fireblades either.
@dazlee3257 I was thinking of super glue 🤣

@@Billyfishing_watch I have a black light with individual bulbs. Water proof it and it would be a newer evolution. Lol
UV light is present in the water column anyway, I think you might be wasting your time 👍

Hi Andrew. Just follow the link, thanks Brother 👍😁

What rods do you use for slow pitch shore jigging
Hi Richard. Although I use slow pitch jigs from the shore! It does not work the same way as it does off boats. They are just jigs that have a slightly different action and cast slightly different distances. The rods I use, are shore jigging rods.
We was trolling with storm shad jigs!
Thanks bud 👌
3-15kg I think it was, but we used a boat!
Baits, or lures?
I will never get a flat fish dinner … 😂
🤣👌 not yet! Anyway 😁
BILLY!!!! 🙂
Thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch You sure know when to put videos out Billy! Stuck inside, blowing a gale, lashing with rain AND working 😞 Great job man! 🙂
