    Unexpectedly tickled right up front by the cover of “I can hear the grass grow“ by The Move and then the Northern Soul banger just afterwards!

    Couldn't wait for C'Mon to be on tv once a week in the weekend when we only had 1 or 2 channals at the most. Man we were spoilt.

    Fabulous show. In boarding school they let us sit in the corridors and watch this program which was the highlight of our week. We had an amazing amount of musical talent in NZ in the 60s. Peter Sinclair and the go go girls just made it so exciting to us teens.

      @@charlottewhyte9804Hi, yah indeed great days and nostalgia for me. I turned 67 last month. I spoke to Brent Brody sometime back and he told me TVNZ hasn’t got all the episodes anymore. He said NZBC often dubbed over the tapes. At least they have a few though.

    My Father made these sets for the NZBC when I was a kid. Met many of these people over the course of the years up until the studios were moved to Avalon.

      Can’t find any info on Bronwyn, however I do remember watching all the episodes back in the day. Did she go on to have a career in music. Yes she had a great voice.

    Fantastic stuff, NZBC "Studio 1" Shortland Street Studio's, its amazing the quantity & quality of programs produced there over the years, in the cramped rabbit warren it was and the equipment of the time. Pete Sinclair , very hip and professional for the time.

    The show to watch 1666-69. This show went out live to all New Zealand.

      @amhellbent 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it only went out live on aktv2 and was taped for showing on the other 3 regional channels, and i think the songs were pre-recorded before the live show aired

    I used to work with one of the Happen Inn dancers, Christine with the long black hair - and she told me when she fell off the back of the stage and they just kept filming! Oh how I wanted to be a Happen Inn dancer, and I even wrote a letter to Peter asking him! Little did I know...

    Technology advances faster than we can adapt to it. My dad is transferring all his old records and tapes to MP3's. I don't know anything about that, and am slowly trying to figure it out, with disasters abounding! Good luck with the conversion.

    This is great stuff. I miss the dynamism of 60's DJs like Peter Sinclair in this clip. What is the title of the background instrumental when Peter Sinclair is speaking? It was also the theme music for the ABC Aussie Rules football show over here in Melbourne in the late 60's.
