After using it a couple times I found that I needed to get rid of the looped knot part. Now I have a single looped cord, still fit on her the same way but I just clip the leash on to either side at her back. This keeps both sides firm and secure. It works great .
I'm a bit late, because I've just spent $175 on a handmade leather harness made to size, but your solution is ingenious. The regular pet store (or any store) dog harnesses are made for the median/average dog, and won't really fit good on a lot of dogs. I've been through 6 leashes/harnesses and 4 different designs, but something is always discomforting and annoying for my dog. I found my way of solving the problem for now, but I sure like yours enough to try it in the future.
Sorry the timing sucks on this one. Violet, my wonderful pal, she started tearing off all her harnesses, just didn't like having them on anymore. I ended up buying two or three, not super expensive, until I said enough. If she is going to tear them up at least make it so it isn't going to cost me anything. I have to say this harness works perfect and I take it off when she isn't out side, that way it won't bother her. Thanks much for the comment and let me know how it go's with your dog.
@@cagedraptor My new custom one works great, belt strap in the front and belt strap under the chest. These are sown to a rather big piece of leather that's cut so he's got room for neck and shoulders. Looks like a tiny saddle, and is great protection from accidents at the park. He plays best with fast medium sized dogs, who sometimes stumbles in him.
Thank much. keep in mind that I did a minor adjustment I describe in a comment. I found the loop at the top didn't really keep it together so I removed the top loop and now it is just from the first knot. clip the leash to both sides at their back and boom !
thanks much. I did have to do a small adjustment to the design, which I describe in a comment. The loop at the top just wasn't holding the harness together. I removed that top loop and then just attached the leash clip to either side of the large loop at her back and it now works perfectly.
Wish I would have seen this before I bought that expensive harness that my wife's Female German Shepherd chewed up damn dog ate three harnesses in the last 3 month's.
yes, my dog started doing that herself. I got tired of wasting money on them so I made my own. Just make sure you read my adjustment to the video which makes it work a lot better. After I used it I found that the loop I made at the top just didn't work so I removed it and I clip the chain to either end of the large circle I made, at their shoulders. It works perfect and is as inexpensive as you can get

I didnt understand the word for the rope you used can you please send me the name thanks when i make it i hope my dog stops pulling
Mule Tape is just very strong cordage. Any cord or rope will do. Anything you have on hand will work.
That's still not chew proof enough for my dog. But I can borrow from the design.
may not be chew proof but it is super cheap and replacing each time can be done with no to little cost. Have fun with it and hope you find a solution.
