Great idea. I have a string harness that is functional but the strings get in the way sometimes. Sock looks more comfy. Chomper usually just sits around but it has been helpful when he decided to take off so he didn't get away. I get lots of interesting looks from neighbors when he is on the leash.
I made one with the string of a shoelace and a long rope, tie the long rope in the center of the shoelace, then calmly tie a loose knot and not tighten one side of the shoelace at the neck in front of the forelegs without squeezing too much, the other side in front of the tail between the back legs without squeezing too much, but looking at that he can't put his knee in or else he can pull it off, my pogona, he doesn't mind holding it up even if still now he doesn't really like it when I put it on
Cool idea, very creative! It's nice Fitz'll go on walks with you - Nipsey would just stand there the entire time (probably too lazy for a harness lol).
I guess Nipsey and Fitz are alike because Fitz won't move for anything but food when I put the harness on😂 I'm slowly but surely getting him used to having one on :)

I giggled at the “really puppy” and “thock” lol. I get tongue tied, too. This is a great diy instead of spending a fortune on those ones in stores. You could always add wings to it just like the store bought ones. ☺️ Btw: You’re lucky to have such a calm and cooperative beardie. I’m still working with my Hiccup but I just got him at the end of March this year (2022). Hopefully he’ll be as chill as yours seems to be one day. ☺️🐉

Only had him a month and a half, so still small but I let him out all the time when at home and I'm starting to take him outside now BUT he tried to bolt...SO I wanna make him a harness so I won't lose him or get him Hurt. And this is just perfect!!!!!

I tried doing this with My bearded dragon and he was okay, but then I brought him outside and he got scared and then puffed up at me and got really aggressive and kept trying to bite me. I ran inside to get some gloves and tried to walk him inside. I placed him in his cage with harness still on him because he wouldn’t let me get near him. Right now he’s sitting in the cage still has the harness on and I’m letting him calm down, then I’ll try to get the harness off. Idk what to do though, I’m scared because he got VERY aggressive and I’ve been bite by him before and he drew blood and it hurt really bad, but he’s stressed out and idk what to do. !!!PLEASE READ THE EDIT!!! Edit: I was able to get it off him and he’s okay. But I am NEVER doing that again with any of my bearded dragons, because it was the most traumatic experience I’ve ever had with an animal. I AM NOT SAYING DON’T DO THIS, THIS IS A GREAT IDEA! I should have know not to bring him outside as he has always been aggressive, since I adopted him. THIS IS A GOOD IDEA! cassie1016 him being aggressive is probably a bond thing with you and him also not being used to an outside environment. Me and my took our beardie to a vet the other day for the first time and she never left the house before but is always very well behaved and snuggly with us but got v mad at us when we got to the vet and opened her mouth at us a few times but didn’t try to attack or bite us. She was just mad at us for making her leave the house lol
How I Made Mine! I got a piece of felt/foam and wrapped it around his chest, with a bit of width for him to breathe. I got a bra strap, which fell off the bra, and I attached it to the part where it would fit. I was able to shrink it down to him, and took him on walks.

But yea it sounds more like a bond issue and stress issue, im sure most really tame beardies wont have an issue with it
