    Alfred basically turns your entire mac into a CLI. I love it and have used it for years. Thanks for creating this video and sharing your Alfred tips.

      Thanks! Maybe you should make a video about your setup too.

    I've been on the fence about switching to the paid version of Alfred. The real-life examples in this video were really helpful in deciding to go for it.

    Finally somebody explaining Workflows clearly and concisely. Thank you very much. I learned a lot.

    The idea of using it for context switching is brilliant. I am going to have to try that. With snippets, I'd recommend trying out the auto-expand option. That can really save a lot of time too.

    Alfred, Keyboard Maestro, Karabiner to glue everything together to custom hotkey, macros, workflows!

    You sold me! The dev work flow, open localhost, tab terminal ...YES !!!
    Pair this with moom to recall windows positions and you are golden :-p

    Thanks. I love your clear explanations. I've just started using Alfred 4, so I'm going to use some of your tips.

    It's a shame there is no Alfred for windows or nothing that compares. Nice video - you just earned another subscriber

    So it's basically dmenu for mac! I currently only use it for opening apps but it's so powerful. Too bad I use Windows at work and mac only at home

      dmenu fam! yes!!! windows the best we got is pressing the mod key and typing the name of the app. or writing a batch file, or using MOD+R to open the run menu but thats not really useful beyond CMD or notepad >.>

    I'm guessing the "argument" field is useful when you want to use the same process for many similar projects but maybe you just change one aspect like the project itself?

    Windows has programs similar to Alfred: Wox, Keypirinha, Launchy, Listary.

    Thank youf for sharing your Alfred workflow tips.
    Btw, why are not you using auto expansion for your snippets? Instead of firing up Alfred and then type the snip keyword, you could have a keyword to trigger the expansion. Say :twitter will expand your twitter link.

    • @FaradayAcademy
      @FaradayAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I actually started using auto expansion after I made this video 😁. I also have a lot more stuff in Alfred now like emojis 😎

      @@FaradayAcademy I see. Nice. I use the snippets for emojis and more too. But now sending you 👍👍👍👍from my windows pc using espanso ( a multiplatform text expansion tool) .

    Thanks for the concise video, was super helpful, i didnt quite get the part about copying and pasting across devices, do you mean the mobile app?

    • @FaradayAcademy
      @FaradayAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't know alfred had a mobile app. I mean that I can copy something on my phone and paste in on my laptop or vice-versa. I don't need any other applications installed to be able to do that with Alfred.

    ooo yes, ill be watching this. I use alfred on my machine too and i like it, do you stick to the free version or do you use the paid version? and if you do use paid do you feel its worth it? if you do; why?

    • @FaradayAcademy
      @FaradayAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use a lot of workflows and I don't think you can use those on the free version. I'm also really liking the snippets now. I've been using the clipboard history and searching for a long time too.
