- The 12/21/2024 IDPA match at Cleveland Hunting Rifle & Pistol Club went great, aside from several malfunctions due to a lower powered 135 grain competition load that my Shadow Systems MR920P obviously doesn't like. After the first malfunctions, I assumed it was because I was shooting a dirty gun, so I cleaned & lubed it between stages. After the next malfunction, I decided to switch to a 124 grain load, which ran fine the rest of the day.

Nice! You can run a comp now in IDPA? I competed years ago and was the first guy at my club to run an optic when Carry Optics became a thing. I would def get back in if i can run my Roland special
At local matches you can almost certainly run your Roland Special!
@ that’s so awesome. I just may start competing again
Nice. Hate the ammo did not cooperate.
Yeah... the ammo didn't help. But at least I got more practice clearing malfunctions!
🤘🤘😎 Was it light load ammo?
Yes, the rounds are barely making 125 power factor, whereas my 124 grain rounds are closer to 135 PF.
@Delta-Alpha-Kilo So close.
What ammo was it ?
It's the P1 135 grain competition ammo that I got with the coupon I won at the raffle at SC. It ran fine in my CR920XP and my MR920P a few days earlier. I left it out in my truck overnight on Friday, and it got below freezing, so I'm sure that contributed a bit. I'm hoping I can sort this out as I really like that ammo and hope to order more. For anyone else reading this, P1 makes a great product, I just have 1 particular gun that didn't care for it on 1 particular day.
Did you load those yourself of get them from a manufacturer? I've tested some 135gr from Freedom as part of their ProMatch label and I've not seen any issues there.
They are from a commercial manufacturer. I love the rounds, but apparently my MR920P doesn't. They shoot pretty soft, maybe a bit too soft. I'll try them in a non-comped XR920 and see what happens.
