I was curious how you would do a Sky themed weapon, and you guys somehow found a way. Love you too.
New t-shirt idea. Thats some hot wood
I was thinking make some mini cloud molds and do it like that
@@MrBumblebot we had experience with crayola air dry and didn't think it would work so we wanted to try new materials
You could have filled the gap of the handle and then made the mold just get a nonstick plate and stick it to the side and fill the space with resin or something then make the mold!
The injecting resin vertically tests to make clouds didn't necessarily look like clouds but they do look REALLY awesome! Like smoke, ghosties, or wispy lava lamp. So much dramatic spoopy potential.
Oooh i want a ghost sword :0
More like ejaculation on a petri dish 🤣
Yeah, the problem with trying to look like sky clouds instead of wispy ground level stuff is that they have white inside the blue. The whiteness of sky clouds is always in front of the blue. Not that the wispy stuff wouldn't also be in front of the blue, but it's more open so it looks more natural, the blue in front looks more like it is just extra thin wisps at that point.
Definitely could use that method to do some sort of fire effect
To me, it sorta looked like sea foam. If they do this again with a water themed weapon, that method would look pretty nice
Clay: Air dry 😄
Evan: *Microwaves it*
Clay: *Doesn't cure*
Evan: *Is confused*
Yup. I was yelling at the screen lol
Hairdryers work better because you're actually using air movement to dry it out instead of just heating it up
There are air dry clays you can dry in the microwave
@@silg7262 liked this before they got to the various air dry clays, because paper clay is an air dry clay...
I mean his reasoning kind of makes sense. The term air try implies the water evaporates out which is how the drying process works and heat makes water evaporate 🤷♀️
The line between a pressure pot and a pipe bomb truly is fascinating
"Happy crafting channel who has been successful enough to purchase lots of extra toys and tools, fun to watch!"
Evan then using "real job skills" to engineer the Long Boi.
See the thing is there is no line, it’s only how you use it lol
You know you've been watching E&K 'too much' when you immediately think 'Long Boi' when Evan asks what to name him. Katelyn did not disappoint!
Yas must agree
I was thinking the name but from Vixella’s Sims 3 Pets video.
For real, though, digital! I was thinking the exact same thing.
same lmao
I said it out loud, even
Speaking of elf ears... you guys could totally try making prosthetic costume stuff!
They have the skills and supplies to pull that off for sure
Yessss I would love for them to stumble upon cosplay hacks
They need to do another collab with Punished Props.
That would be really cool!
We use air dry clay for dioramas. You could branch out trying that art form, make it cat themed of course, and throw in some obligatory resin water feature.
This comment needs more credit, they really need to do this fr
we do wanna try that sometime!
@@EvanAndKatelyn that would looks so cool luv ur videos btw💗💗
@@EvanAndKatelyn you should try making something out of air dry clay and then casting it in sillicone to make custom resin moulds!
Now that’s what I call….a Skyward Sword. The wind blade turned out so cool, even if it wasn’t *a breeze* to make. It just goes to show, the sky’s the limit with Evan and Katelyn! ☁️
But seriously though, this elemental resin series has been so fun to see with all of the different effects and techniques! 💧🔥☁️ 🪨
I think one of the most shocking things you discovered was the secret knife frame found in the hilt! It felt like y’all were exposing a conspiracy lol - a sword with a secret smaller dagger in the hilt would actually be pretty cool if it wasn’t just an extremely conspicuous blade shaped outline. ⚔️
“Skyward sword” made me chuckle
you fool...I still have one more trick up my sleeve...for you see...my mighty sword...is also...A DAGGER!!!!
Omg I love that the pressure pots are called Pascal and Max like the sidekicks from Tangled! It’d be so cute if y’all added a little chameleon and horse to each pressure pot
They could of done long boi aka Eugene 😂😊
The experiments are always my favourite parts of these videos. Evan and Katelyn are so fun and wholesome.
Reminds me of when we did experiments in science class
did you not see the part where they simulated a sex act? 37:59
@@capatainnemo that falls under "fun" 😂😂
the experiments always take so much more time than the final project!
@@EvanAndKatelynwe love long videos :]
The knife mold hidden in the original "handle" was such a crazy plot twist! Anyways, the sword is gorgeous! Amazing job as always!
I think it's great that company is efficient in using its materials that way! Though it did make it more difficult for them
@@k49821 To be fair, in the picture they put up to show the price, the handle was still wrapped up. I wonder if it's not supposed to be normally disassembled. 🤣
Honestly props to the original sword makers for recycling and repurposing materials
Welcome to the family Max and Long Boi!🎉
Also, I forgot how much I adore Katilyn's editing. Just Max, Pascal and Long Boi's faces while under pressure was more than enough to make this video god tier.
18:00 Katelyn trying to scratch her face through her mask is me trying to scratch my eye with my glasses on and I feel so seen! Thanks for keeping that in 😂
I’m sure you get those moments where you also are looking for your glasses, can’t find them only for them to be on your face 😅.
@@The_forgotten_pain Do you want to say that you never get itchy eyeballs? weirdo :P
@@The_forgotten_painwhat do u say instead?
During allergy season I do sometimes scratch my eyeball. I don't use my nails. I use the side of my finger, and I only use it after washing my hands.
26:58 I always love it when Evan gets to majorly flex his engineering skills on a project
Please please please please please use refraction sheet molds for a water weapon. It was a beautiful technique, and it would add just the right amount of magical - ness!
You're doing the modern equivalent of the experimental procedures that model makers and miniature artists were doing in the 60s and 70s at movie studios (and continue to do to this day). Keep up the good work!
if y'all keep making elemental weapons, you could totally do a water morningstar/mace with spikes that look like.... idk what to call them, water vortexes? water spirals? i really hope you keep going with this theme, it's so fun to see!
Btw it’s called a whirlpool :)
that would be cool!
And once you've done all 4 elements, you can make a Leeloo one!😂
@@charlottegelinas901 kind of, yeah! i was thinking of what a reverse whirlpool could be called - like if it spirals Out of the surface instead of into the surface
Like a waterspout? That's what they call it when a tornado hits water and sucks it up into a splooshy funnel.
Could you use UV resin to make clouds then embed them into the epoxy resin after they’re fully cured? ☁️
My thought also
that probably would have worked!
it probably wouldn't have looked that good cause they'd have the same refractive index. It would've still turned into a ghost like the normal resin
@@yami_the_witchI think what they mean is make the cloud shapes out of white UV resin in a mold or on a silicone mat, cure them so they're like hard little bits, and slide them into the mold. They might look a bit flat with the resin but they'd keep their shape
Is it just me? ..but E&K is my art-therapy! Katelyn's fun quirky-ness with Evan's CHAOS, just entertains me and soothes my soul
The kor sample looked like smoke, it was so cool but the finished sword was just pure beauty
My word it’s stunning especially the pink that looks like a neon sign or a highlighter ❤ beautiful just beautiful
That was so professionally made and without happy little accidents I even forgot that this is Evan and Katelyn lol. Congrats, great sword, I really like it
haha we just made all the accidents during the tests in this one :P
@@EvanAndKatelynthey’re learning… evolving…
As someone who can relate to Evan’s personality, it made me happy to see Katelyn give into the chaos energy for a second and throw the air dry clay bucket on the floor 😂
You guys help me get through every single day. Im going through a lot right now, brain cancer, depression, just a lot. Days feel so long, but your videos give me a boost. Thank you so much.
I hope you'll be okay, let me know if you need someone to talk to!! I have a disease that causes me to be in pain all the time and I know Evan and Katelyn are always a comfort for me
Guys!!!! You NAILED that resin sword in every single aspect! I’m confident that dozens of people are just dying for you to make them a replica. GREAT JOB!!!!!!
Dear Evan & Katelyn!
Me as a guy who likes glowsticks, I had to figure out a way to have rechargable ones. I found super great ideas on the internet and I had my own toughts as well. I made a few one(using resin) and it turned out pretty well. If you guys would like to make a project that only require a few days, I have the best idea for you! I will tell you the ideas later, 'cause I assume you won't see this.
Have a wonderfull week, best wishes!
David
Are you willing to post some directions! This sounds awesome! I have some resin I’ve been saving for a special project… 😂
you can sometimes mix types of air dry clay together to get new textures, just in case you wanted to test what the fluffy and stretchy clay was like together.
Sword is awesome
that's a great tip!
Just wanted to say that our family misses the resin song. I was watching an old video and realized you guys don't do it much anymore, if at all. My daughters and I love singing along with you. 😊
The sword turned out so gorgeous! Now I'm thinking about what other elemental weapons you could make like a lightning hammer
To me, it looks nothing like clouds, but looks like ice crystals starting to form. Looks freaking amazing either way!!
I love how the blade turned out more transparent with the opaque clouds! I thought the blade was going to be more opaque overall but it looks really cool! I feel like a water themed sword would look really cool with similar techniques too!
thank you!
Earth hammer and water whip!
A resin whip doesn’t seem like a great idea.
its amazing the managed to get the edge good. the axe was a little off but worked because of the design. they are slowly becoming the resin masters.
OMG!! Love the look of this!! I can’t wait to see the rest of the “elemental artillery” would look like!! Maybe even a “grass” or “earth” element with some fake plant inserts that you could see through the resin that also has like “fireflies” as the glow in the dark elements to it!
The pressure pot face distortion, red color and whistling is my favorite. It makes me so happy, thank you for doing this.
I was laughing every time 😂😂 the joke never got old.
the end result looks SO good! I can imagine it framed infront of a arty tapestry as a wall decoration.
thank you! We'll probably add it to the backdrop of our craft streaming room
Katelyn: this footage is just the tops of our heads
Evan: *stands up to look into the camera.*
Me: *saying hi just to be funny to myself*
Evan: Hi
Me: *bamboozled*
glad to be part of the fam! :)
I'm sensing a new craft stream coming soon: Evan and Katelyn make things with air dry clay!
the bucketed clay you guys got is actually foam clay often used by cosplayers for working with eva foam! they use it specifically because of how smooth and malleable it is, as well as the fact it has a lot of working time.
i could totally see it used for cosplay, especially with how lightweight it is!
The "gummy" air dry clay you guys got is called foam clay and dries into a kinda squishy more flexable foam like consistency. It's really useful when making things out of foam as the clay sticks to foam :)
As someone who was JUST about to start making Cloud resin D&D dice, this was surprisingly helpful!
Evan is the only TH-cam creator I’d trust with building his own pressure chamber. Despite (or maybe because of…?) his chaos energy.
I’ve heard that microwaved soap also makes great little clouds to use for resin (in case Evan needs one more thing to microwave! 😂) love your content so much!💕
Yeah I sat here thinking ‘no one told them to microwave Ivory soap 😢’
i'm not sure soap clouds would work because they're so fragile. trying to insert them might crumble them.
@tunesquicklee plus when the resin cures, the heat could melt the soap and cause some mixing problems. Still would be fun to watch them try😅
yep, whenever I've made clouds for putting in resin, microwaved ivory soap is always the way to go. they just look so good and its pretty easy
I use the stringy airdryclay actually to make some clouds for a cosplay. its better when you want a smooth finish, because you can sand it really good
I wonder if a resin bow, or staff would be a practical or cool looking weapon to the collection.. ❤
The air dry clay might have cured better over night instead of in the microwave--it dries with air exposure. Polymer clay may have been a good option to try, too! It comes in translucent, and mixing in a touch of white may have made for some fun tinting for it.
I soo appreciate you guys putting the °C up in the corner... make a lot of things so much easier!
Love from Germany :)
And ever single other country bar 2 lol
@@AdamMclardyL european AMERICA #1 still salty we won the war? USA 🇺🇸
@cooperswan534 okay microplastic boy
@@cooperswan534 And after all these years that is still your only "bragging" point you have? That's sad
The resin cloud test looks more like fire than clouds to me but it looks so cool!
2:56 that do do resin time was so amazingly funny 😂it made my day
Foam clay is actually used for cosplay, so funny enough it's supposed to be gummy so it can adhere to other items. Designed that after it does becomes foam.
I’m sure once you start playing with the foam clay you’ll manage to use it up very quickly! It’s such a fun and versatile substance.
Love the end result! 😍 if I could change anything I would say, add purple to the handle instead of blue for the overall look y’all are so creative it’s always fun to watch your videos
That was a really cool project and I love how the clouds almost resemble a hamon (a visible delineation between hardened and unhardened steel seen along the edge of traditional Japanese blades). When I saw the results from Katelyn's injection trial I thought for sure that was going to be the intended effect. It came out great, and I laughed when I saw that the factory had cut a knife blank out of the tang of that cheapo sword!😆
You could add metal sheet on the sword's edge when you are pouring resin and actually sharpen it and use it as real sword with resin aesthetic.
The second microwave dried clay was less cured, because the first got much hotter on the hot wood. Also, other fluffs would behave differently from cotton - fibers have different stiffness and lengths, plus different chemical compositions would interact with resin and dye differently.
Now we need a lightning weapon, an ice weapon, and a plant/earth weapon. Plus, any other elements you can think of. These always turn out so pretty!
I always love the experiments! Thanks for another amazing video, the sword looks so cool!!
That was the most aggressive resin time intro I've seen and I'm HERE for it
"I bought the air dry clay!! All of the 😄!" This is so me. If my husband puts something in the cart I buy it 🤣
The sword is so adorable and the whispie clouds look great. The clouds ended up far more like actual normal clouds than cartoon simpson clouds and I really like the effect. The one thing your clouds really remind me of is cheesecurds fluttering around in whey as we make old-school Swedish hemost (means literally home cheese) each November in preparation for Christmas. Now I'm craving hemost, raw cheesecurds and brynost (means literally seard cheese because after you've made the cheese you sear the whole cheese in a pan to give it the right flavour and keep in moisture) and I have to wait for so long to eat them all!
That was the absolute funniest place to cut off the video. LOVE how this one turned out.
Hello! I really want you to make an Earth hammer! You could add glowing gems and crystals throughout the entire thing!
That's an amazing idea 💎
I don’t no how they come up with so many great ideas but I love it 😂❤
Sometimes it's the comments
I just think of thigs at night
Looks so magical
these two must have the best relationship, cause if there's ever a issue in their lives; resin. Door's broken? resin! Table wiggles? resin! Hand got burnt off when Evan got too curious on when the resin was about to finish curing?
resin!!!
Being completely serious, though; I love your content, I've been subscribed for a year or so now, and I'm so glad to see you two still popping up on my reccommended! Love you both, safe travels!
If you happen to make a water-themed Morningstar, you should use a snowglobe as the center with icicle spikes! Love your videos! ❤️
Excellent idea!!! Snowglobe Morningstar sounds SO COOL
Great Idea 👍
The injected resin (especially Katelyn’s) looks like blue fire, which is really cool
Questions I’d love to see answered in a future video. What do you do with the cured resin pieces that you don’t like and don’t use? Also, how do you clean up after your resin pours? Do you wash out the plastic containers or throw them away? Curious!!
You two are amazing!! Absolutely love it!
I really want to see you guys now make a bunch of stuff with the foam clay. I've used it before when one of our Loki horns had a failed UV print on one side. I molded the horn, let it dry, coated it in UV resin, gold paint and badda boom badda bing! President Loki costume for my son. To be fair, I should have let it dry longer because it shrank over time. But we just needed it for a quick costume repair.
I also saw Rachel Maksy use it for fun wood carve details on one of her projects. Possibilities are endless.
Rachel has actually used air dry clay on a bunch of different projects and it always ends up looking amazing! Just because the stretchy air-dry clay didn't work for this project doesn't mean it won't work with something else. The possibilities of amazing projects that can be created with that stretchy clay are truly endless.
@@wise_girl9388 I just discovered her videos the other day and I CAN'T STOP WATCHING THEM!
I've been dying to get air dry clay from Japan so thank you for the link!! Their air dry clay always looks so cool 😍
This turned out SO BEAUTIFUL!!
katelyn's resin clouds would look super cool in fire colors.
Hahah I loved all the "high pressure" animations for Max and Pascal. Also, I feel just like Evan at 24:27 every time you use silicone, although I prefer the yummier looking colored one.
Oh my gosh! A 40 minute video??? Have we been blessed by the Supurrvisor or what?! Thank y’all for making my Friday amazing 😻
40:13 with the music and smoke is a really awesome presentation
thank you for putting wonderful music over your videos. love the classical stuff
I genuinely think the knife in the handle reveal was so amazing. I love the ingenuity of the sellers. 😍
Such an awesome video. I love how the sword turned out. The glow in the dark element really makes it look magical. Also I love how you put eyes on your tools. I think the new one long boi looks like the rocket launcher Buffy used to kill the Judge in season 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The montage at the beginning got me so hyped up
I’m so excited for weapons of the other elements! This was so cool!
Foam clay is amazing for cosplay. It’s good for sculpting. KamuiCosplay has some tutorials on it along with SKS Props. Keep it airtight and it will stay stored for a long time
What type of things can be made with foam clay for cosplay? I'm really curious finding new materials😊😊
@@callous99 I've used it to make details, fill in gaps, I made elf ears with it, organics
@@Hawkoma oh, nice! I have to give it a try, thanks! :)
@@callous99 I would check out SKS props or KamuiCosplay. They can do amazing things with it. You use water to smooth it out and once it is dried it is like EVA foam. You can dremel it and paint it.
Every time a evan and katekyn vid comes out i literally squeal with excitement
Respect to both of you. Great content, editing and fabrication. Long Boi for the win! The effort in the blade stand and the leds in the smoke leveled up the reveal.
This might be the single coolest thing you guys have ever made with resin. So neat!
The reveal is SO CINEMATIC! The sword is absolutely stunning!
I was so disappointed not seeing soap! I have seen so many people use microwaved soap for their resin cloud projects! This really does look amazing though! I can't wait to see the rest of this elemental weapons series!!
Love the video! especially with how pretty the sword is, the colors are just so beautiful.
I have a suggestion for a product you guys could try on one of your channels - it's a Bob Ross DIY Gummy Kit. I saw it in my grocery store when I was buying chocolate and immediately thought of your Bob Ross videos.
So fun, the knife cut out surprise! And the end result is GORG
This is definitely one of the coolest projects ever! all the tests and hard work paid off!
God is love, Jesus is the only way, please repent before it's too late, get a relationship with god, god bless you :) Jesus loves you :D
I love watching Evan and Katelyn!! keep up the amazing work.
Toilet gang!!
Amazing episode, the haunting resin time song announcement was the best.
I had to pause just to mention that I believe air dry clay and paper clay are the same thing. The reason it's air dry, is because it's made with paper/cardboard. I am, however, super curious what those gummy ones were that were also called air dry clay. I've never see air dry clay look like that. You guys are still cracking me the heck up with your antics! Love this channel so much and am trying to catch up on a day that I have committed to being my own!
This channel is so chill, its perfect for watching before sleeping. Its so nice
You've outdone yourselves once again! I ,weirdly, feel some nostalgia about this sword. It feels like a weapon you'd get in like an old 8-bit video game.
i still cant believe Evan went out of his way to make a custom pressure for the single purpose to reduce bubbles in the really cool air sword
GG Evan
Love the editing
Now I would adore a series of just different element swords. ❤
I LOVE this final result but I'm surprised Kaitlyn let the two handle pieces stay different shades of blue like that!
Trust in Long Boi
"Maximillius. Thats his full name." Had me absolutely cackling for no reason 😂😂😂
