The injecting resin vertically tests to make clouds didn't necessarily look like clouds but they do look REALLY awesome! Like smoke, ghosties, or wispy lava lamp. So much dramatic spoopy potential.
Yeah, the problem with trying to look like sky clouds instead of wispy ground level stuff is that they have white inside the blue. The whiteness of sky clouds is always in front of the blue. Not that the wispy stuff wouldn't also be in front of the blue, but it's more open so it looks more natural, the blue in front looks more like it is just extra thin wisps at that point.

The "gummy" air dry clay you guys got is called foam clay and dries into a kinda squishy more flexable foam like consistency. It's really useful when making things out of foam as the clay sticks to foam :)
The second microwave dried clay was less cured, because the first got much hotter on the hot wood. Also, other fluffs would behave differently from cotton - fibers have different stiffness and lengths, plus different chemical compositions would interact with resin and dye differently.
I really want to see you guys now make a bunch of stuff with the foam clay. I've used it before when one of our Loki horns had a failed UV print on one side. 18:46 I know this is from forever ago by internet terms, but the way I've seen this kind of thing done by the pros is to wait for the resin to half harden so it's more like goop and THEN take a FLEXIBLE syringe needle to inject the resin in the middle. It's kind of like that gel stuff from the 90's where you could "draw" with the gel or set things in it exactly where you want them. I presume something like total boat that cures more slowly and evenly is the key to this. You might want to look it up and try it some day. EDIT: or even just making some clouds out of resin, in small sheets, and cutting those out to then add into the mold I would like to recommend making a flat sheet of resin, painting on what you want, adding a second sheet of resin, tracing your tool out onto the resin, cut it out As others have said it doesn’t really look like clouds, with the cloud guard I CAN see a wind effect and it did turn out REALLY cool, but I more so see water in the blade when alone and the cloud guard isn’t there. I still LOVE it and it looks Awsome! Just some food for thought
Foam clay is amazing for cosplay. It’s good for sculpting. KamuiCosplay has some tutorials on it along with SKS Props. Keep it airtight and it will stay stored for a long time
@@callous99 I would check out SKS props or KamuiCosplay. They can do amazing things with it. You use water to smooth it out and once it is dried it is like EVA foam. You can dremel it and paint it.
The shaking the B tub for the silicone is maybe something you should do with the lid on I would think. with the hole in the tang you should maybe just have put on tape on one side and fill it with UV resin or something like that. With the syringe technique you should maybe have drawn in the syringe before pulling it out to reduce the whisps going up? You should also put a pully in the celing to use when removing the lid from Max 😀

Awesome project!!! The three stretchy air dry clays are the kind used in cosplay! When dried it behaves just like EVA foam!
20:07; that strategy looks really good if you plan to do something like a fire or flame in a resin drawing
Hello! I really want you to make an Earth hammer! You could add glowing gems and crystals throughout the entire thing!
That's an amazing idea 💎
Let's gooo! so beautiful! I would love a water themed Sai set!!
you guys always outdo yourselves!! love it!!
Love the video! especially with how pretty the sword is, the colors are just so beautiful.
I have a suggestion for a product you guys could try on one of your channels - it's a Bob Ross DIY Gummy Kit. I saw it in my grocery store when I was buying chocolate and immediately thought of your Bob Ross videos.
EDIT: or even just making some clouds out of resin, in small sheets, and cutting those out to then add into the mold
I would like to recommend making a flat sheet of resin, painting on what you want, adding a second sheet of resin, tracing your tool out onto the resin, cut it out
As others have said it doesn’t really look like clouds, with the cloud guard I CAN see a wind effect and it did turn out REALLY cool, but I more so see water in the blade when alone and the cloud guard isn’t there.
I still LOVE it and it looks Awsome! Just some food for thought
Now I would adore a series of just different element swords. ❤
Foam clay is amazing for cosplay. It’s good for sculpting. KamuiCosplay has some tutorials on it along with SKS Props. Keep it airtight and it will stay stored for a long time
What type of things can be made with foam clay for cosplay? I'm really curious finding new materials😊😊
@@callous99 I've used it to make details, fill in gaps, I made elf ears with it, organics
@@Hawkoma oh, nice! I have to give it a try, thanks! :)
@@callous99 I would check out SKS props or KamuiCosplay. They can do amazing things with it. You use water to smooth it out and once it is dried it is like EVA foam. You can dremel it and paint it.
I am in love with the sword, I have always wanted one ❤ you are realising my childhood dream, thank you😊
The shaking the B tub for the silicone is maybe something you should do with the lid on I would think.
with the hole in the tang you should maybe just have put on tape on one side and fill it with UV resin or something like that.
With the syringe technique you should maybe have drawn in the syringe before pulling it out to reduce the whisps going up?
You should also put a pully in the celing to use when removing the lid from Max 😀
I love watching your resin videos and your cat DIY’s I have two cats of my own and I like getting ideas of things to do for them as well. Enjoy watching your resin items.
I was so disappointed not seeing soap! I have seen so many people use microwaved soap for their resin cloud projects! This really does look amazing though! I can't wait to see the rest of this elemental weapons series!!
the editing was so good this video loved it
Yall's videos are so good and this one did NOT disappoint!!!❤❤
That was a really cool project and I love how the clouds almost resemble a hamon (a visible delineation between hardened and unhardened steel seen along the edge of traditional Japanese blades). When I saw the results from Katelyn's injection trial I thought for sure that was going to be the intended effect. It came out great, and I laughed when I saw that the factory had cut a knife blank out of the tang of that cheapo sword!😆
The montage at the beginning got me so hyped up
