    Wow, you can load the AES key directly on the computer without needing a key loader device. This is cool !

      Sure can! It streamlines the process and reduces reliance on another piece of gear to tote around that if lost or in the wrong hands makes for a bad day.

    Not to be rude at all, but what is the reasoning for the high cost? Is it because of the Army contract from a few years ago or is it because of the computing capabilities? I only ask because it doesn’t seem like the hardware really costs over $7,000 to produce.

    • @hoplite015
      @hoplite015 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're absolutely right, military exclusive tech usually gets priced high because some greedy shits up at the top think it's okay. There was a video that went viral were a congressman was grilling an Air Force General for clearing bags of bearings to be priced at hundreds of thousands of dollars per bag...... f*cking ball bearings, like the kind that go in skateboard wheels but they were about 4 inches in diameter larger.
      The silence in the room when he was asked why those bearings cost so much was deafening.

      There’s no other radio that is a computer/voice radio/gps/relay station/ video encoder/decoder/router/usb hub/ and more all in one. Plus the beauty is even more so in the intelligent routing protocol/software.

      @@PSWaveRelay Is it possible to make a cheaper device more streamlined for Law Enforcement and private security? Body and helmet cameras are becoming more proliferate in their use because of the legal benefits they provide and ATAK is also being used more heavily in nonmilitary theaters of application. Is there a potential more affordable option that provides the same benefits? Giving each officer a $30,000 system seems a bit much especially since most departments have trouble finding funding for training even though a device like the MPU5 would greatly benefit them despite not being able to afford it.

    • @PSWaveRelay
      @PSWaveRelay  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AJ_Sparten1337 truthfully it’s actually a value. The benefits from what you get are far above the price tag. For one, check the cost of an APX radio which is currently a common radio for LE and first responders. Now that is the cost of just the radio, no PTT, no Samsung S23, none cables, no USB hub/battery to link everything together, no added encryption or security features, etc.
      Additionally there’s no recurring cost to the MPU5. Every device regardless if it’s going to a private citizen, police department, or SOCOM unit comes with the same security features, encryption, IRD, with no added fees. If you own an MPU5 you will never have to pay a recurring fee or fees for firmware updates.
      And think about the amount of money spent on cellular technology for every officers device to have connectivity over 5g/LTE. That’s a network that a department doesn’t even own themselves and control not to mention on a rainy day or during a natural disaster when power is out those networks don’t continue to work. Departments spend millions and millions on those cellular networks and they are using the same towers as every other citizen and are at the whim of the cellular carriers network.
      With Wave Relay you can reduce the amount of devices requiring cellular connectivity, put a few onto the Wave Relay MANET along with another gateway like a satellite service etc. and now everyone has connectivity for voice, video, data etc. that can also use multiple beyond line of sight gateways that will provide a robust network that can work rain or shine and is completely controlled by the department.
      There is more than this and if you need any more explanation or have any questions let us know.
