I noticed that when you cut back the vines they were thin..its been my experience the,sweet potatoes will be small..I don't know how many days they grew..but 120 is usually the best and the vines will be thicker..

I lost track of when I planted my sweet potatoes. I guess they'll be the last thing out of the garden
I usually harvest mine when I start seeing the vines flower or the month before our first frost. Which ever comes first.
