I seriously doubt that anyone has "better ideas" on a build out, and you could make a fortune doing them for consumers of any of the pop top campers! I'm going to sell my 2022 Bronco BD 4 Dr w/2.3 MT as soon as a 2024 Taco Off Road w/6' bed optioned the way I want becomes available and I can snag it, and the Tune M1 is my choice (after I sell my 2023 TAG XL Boondock teardrop), and what they've done with their design and workmanship is very impressive, and at 5'4" I'll probably get the Decked drawer and not have anything to worry about as far as clearance! Thanks for this great video, Pete, and happy trails!
Can you run the solar wire along side the lifting mechanism it'll look cleaner that way. Use a race way or stick on ziptie mount along the ceiling towards the lift mechanism. And then do the same on the side of the metal lifting arm. Leave a bit of slack near joints

Thanks for your great vid… nice build!!..I just put a deposit down on the tune. One question. How did you bring the heat duct into the truck bed from the espacher combustion unit. I guess you had to punch a pretty good sized hole in the bed.

I pulled the bed liner and used self tapping screws into the bed to attach the drawer system. The cabinets attach to the drawer system top and then the T track on the camper as well
I, among many others are courious how water tight the doors are, and how much they flex, (they have to flex some to not break). If you'd comment on that or maybe make a video on the doors and sealing, MANY people are asking. Thanks!
The doors seal wonderfully. The camper is extremely rigid and takes a hit well. I got into an accident on the interstate and the camper had no damage. My truck didn’t fair so well but the camper is a beast

The flared sides are actually really nice. Since they taper up from the bed rails and not straight out, they don’t interfere with the mirrors at all. I definitely don’t see the need for extended mirrors at all.

Hey! The heater is an Eberspacher 4k gasoline heater. If you want an off the shelf rig that’s ready to go, mine is going up for sale soon. I need a diesel for work to pull equipment so I’m going to sell this one and do it again on another truck.
Hey Pete, great build- do you know the weight of your build? Im worried about payload in the tundra with two kids and gear. I like how you incorporated the flared sides to maximize counter and floor space. Any support for the flip down kid bed? And how tall are you?
I think im about 1500lbs loaded. Just a guess though. The truck handles it well on stock suspension. I do have support panels for the flip down bed, they’re just not shown. I’m 5’10”

Thank you. The fridge usually sits up against the cab where the blue cooler is now. The goal zero(in the cooler) is usually tucked in a cabinet in the summer. The cabinets are 3/4” bass wood cabinet ply with wilsonart laminate. The counter is a custom walnut and maple glue up with a bar top epoxy finish. The flooring was an LVP from floor&decor.
Love the couple of videos with the Tune M1 camper. We are looking to buy one and have a question for you. Do you have a problem with dust in the back of the truck while traveling on dirt/gravel roads? I heard this might be a problem with the Tune M1 and would get all of the stuff very dirty. Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I installed some weather stripping between the tailgate and the tail lights and it helped tremendously. The seal between the M1 and the truck is fantastic. The seal of your factory tailgate is what you need to address

The side windows in the metal openings do not come with big screen. The upper fabric windows have options for a clear vinyl cover. I think the 3rd break light is coming but not yet.
Great walk through! How do you find the material section holds up to the wind? Does it flap at all? Coming from a rooftop tent that keeps us up at night if it's windy.
The material stays pretty tight in the wind but the truck rocks with the gusts. I spent one night with pretty consistent 30+mph winds, and it wasn’t great. The movement of the truck was what kept waking us up. I might play with air bags or some jack stands for windy adventures
Nice set up Pete. I have a question. With all that track as the shell. Does it draw in the cold and in the sun/warm weather do they get hot? Does it draw in the heat?
The aluminum does transmit the heat and cool quite a bit but the insulated roof panels make up for it. It’s pretty comfortable for having soft sides. I was very impressed with the ceiling system.

It’s not bad with flapping compared to a RTT, but the truck rocks a good bit. I’m considering bringing jack stands to keep the truck still next time I’m in the high country
Fairly basic question, but how did you mount the privacy curtain to the side with the t-track? I just got one from overland system and it doesn’t look like you used their L bracket. Thanks!

Well if you want plenty of room to sleep and move around, these are a great choice

The dust is only an issue where the tailgate meets the bed of the truck. I added some foam and it’s been just fine even in Moab’s moon dust

The yeti battery doesn’t have an internal warmer. Below 32 it won’t charge

Thanks! I drilled 3 holes in the back plate of the shower enclosure and then bolted it to the t-track with bolts and hammer nuts

Any issues with dust incursion, particularly through the back hatch, have you done anything to seal it?
I sealed the tailgate to the bed and it helped a lot. No issues with dust through the camper seals, just the truck

I forget how much it added exactly but I upgraded the factory 60# struts to #80 and it’s a little light. I might bump them to 100# struts this year
