    The three reasons Mass Effect is superior to the others.
    The possibility of nearly limitless ammunition.
    The in-system planetary exploration.
    The Mako

    The Mako was bloody great. Handling it was a bit nervous at times, but it did allow (and worked fine in the context of) the actual exploration of dozens of planets ! Something that did not happen again in the trilogy, and was greatly missed.

    Handling issues aside, I really enjoyed the Mako. Its guns were OP, and you could pull off some ridiculous stunts with it.

    This pretty cool, I remember trying to be careful driving the Mako and tolling it, makes you wonder if other wheeled vehicles are used in Mass effect like dirt bikes, imagine a Krogan trying to ride one of them.

    😳 Wow... that Mako certainly was having it's way with that Geth Collossus. And Idk what you're talking about with regard to it's handling. I totally meant to flip into that canyon and get stuck upside-down.

    I always thought it was weird that players hated the Mako. It was fine. The godawful planetary maps, though....those could be hell to navigate. Can you even imagine the kinds of geologic forces that would be required to make nearly vertical _mountain ranges?!_ And the lack of weathering needed to keep them that way? Terrible bump mapping technique was used to make those maps. _Terrible._ ...Of course, I think that way because went to college and learned about that stuff, so... Kinda have a different perspective on it.

      @forestwells5820 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I am SO glad someone else feels that way. The vehicle itself was a little squirrely, but that's what made it so maneuverable. The maps are the main problem. I'd argue the rover in Andromeda wasn't that different, but the maps certainly were.

    • @darioestebaneliztrado4641
      @darioestebaneliztrado4641 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@forestwells5820 I would say that the controls were the problem, the Mako had poor controls that made it easy to stray from its path, the nomad, even with all the problems that andromeda had, is a vehicle that handles a thousand times better.

    • @ThunderLord1

    I replay the classic Trilogy atm on my Xbox 360 and damn in wished that the 360 allready had the ability to record gameplay
    ... Somehow I got my Mako flipped in in front of a trashermaw and i thought that's it but however the attack didn't destroyed the Mako... Instead it went burning red and in a desperate attempt of surviving i started the jump boosters and slid away from the Treshermaw on the Makos roof in a 45° up a hill and flipped over the hills top out of the maws line of sight directly into repair mode. It was my best ride in over 50 Playthroughs if ME one.

      What for? Driving the thing in reverse solves most of the handling issues.

  • @richmcgee434
    @richmcgee434 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ground Zero Games ought to have sued over this thing. That's a Phalanx high-mobility heavy APC with a stupid gun nailed to it and the central wheels moved a bit backward. Jon's been selling miniatures of it in both 6mm and 28mm scales since the 1990s, and I doubt the designers who ripped him off even credited him.

  • @ranekeisenkralle8265
    @ranekeisenkralle8265 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ah yes. The Mako. And its ...peculiar "handling". Rather annoying most of the time. What I did find helpful though, was to drive the darn thing in reverse. That way it was slightly slower, but a lot less ...bouncy. And as an added benefit, if you needed to get out of dodge quickly, you just needed to accelerate forward at its usual velocity. Since the turret can traverse a full circle, the direction the nose of the vehicle is pointing is of no consequence.
    Despite its handling issues, I still prefer the Mako over the Hammerhead (perhaps in part because the latter was so under-utilized)

  • @lordomacron3719

    It was easy to steer! Just as long as you used the aim of the cannon to steer and NOT the actual steering. All you need that for is acceleration and breaking.
    I never understood why ppl complained so much?

    For me, the Mako is hands-down the most fun-to-drive vehicle or thing in any video game, ever.
    I despise about 99% of driving games with a passion, even though I keep trying them, hoping to find one I like; I can't stand trying to control Chocobos in Final Fantasy, and I HATED that part in Brutal Legend where the game forced you to win a motorcycle battle to continue the story.
    Vehicle and/or riding-beast controls always feel either too clunky, too sensitive, or too non-responsive to me in just about every video game that I've ever played; when I want to turn SLIGHTLY to the left or right, whatever I'm riding does a 90 degree turn, or worse; when I need them to give me a massive speed boost RIGHT NOW, they take 5 minutes to barely get only a few more MPH; when I need them to slow down a tiny bit, they either come to a complete halt, or take forever to ramp down; when I need them to QUICKLY dodge out of the way of incoming projectiles, they stand there stupidly, waiting for a missile to smack me in the face, and THEN they finally move a bit, and to add insult to injury, they can't take a hit for $#!+.
    Now, I'm not trying to say the Mako handles perfectly, but it avoids the issues I've listed a vast majority of the time, and it can take a ton of hits before it dies on you.
    And, of course, the Mako just plain says "F*** YOU!" to physics, most of the time. You wanna go up a near-completely vertical, smooth surface? The Mako's like your drunk friend, screaming "Let's DO this!". When other vehicles/riding-beasts say "I don't think I can do this...", the Mako's like, "Sure thing, buddy, I got you!"... Even when it tries and fails, the Mako tries and fails majestically!
    So yeah, I LOVE the Mako! #MakoLove!
