I used to deal in these when I was an " undergraduate" . The only car I have ever sat in in which you could dial in a perfect seating position because the seat, steering wheel and the entire pedal box were independently adjustable with knobs linked to the hydraulic system. It had two horn buttons, one for town, a polite toot, and one for Autostrada which were twin air horns. It had secret compartments to hide watches and jewellery in both the front luggage bay and the engine compartment. Compared to the Ferraris of the time which I also dealt in, it was not really a "sports car" in dynamic terms but it was by far the nicer car to tour in. I could buy any of these Maseratis off the trade very cheaply due to the fact that the oil gauge would hardly register oil pressure and they thought the engines were on the way out. In fact it was an electrical resistance problem to the gauge itself. When I bought my first Merak SS (the younger, prettier but slower V6 sister of the Bora ) I called Maserati in Italy to ask about the low pressure on the gauge. The Technical Director interrupted me to say... "Ecuse(a) me Signore, but(a) does(a) the gauge(a) read(a) anything at all(a) ?. I hesitantly said " er well sort of yes", he then replied "then(a) it is alright(a)'" and put the phone down. He was right, never got let down by a Maserati, great cars and the Bora was the best of them.
As a kid, I was so in love with this car, mostly because of the wheels. To me they were the epitome of style. It's only now that I see they were hubcaps :) Still, sleek!
None of the chassis clips are anything to do with the Boro. They are Front engine, rear drive chassis, not even mid. The Engine illustration of twin cam is a straight four, not a V8. There are too many parts of this vid to list, that have visuals of totally different cars to the Boro that the audio is about. Pathetic. "The Boro had a central backbone chassis", it says (correctly) while showing a Ladder Frame, front engine chassis with no connection at all to the Boro at all. At least show a Backbone chassis, even if it isn't the Boro's.
Unfortunately, the Federal Exhaust Gas Pollution Ban Ordinance BABVVO and the Federal Transport Tourism Emission Restriction Ordinance TEBBVO will soon ban exhaust gas emissions and transport tourism emissions nationwide!!!
I test drove a Bora once. I remember the knob for the driver seat height was either full up or full down taking about 2 nanoseconds to travel from from one extreme to the other with an audible bang. Why does a seat height adjustment require hydraulic actuators? Ridiculous.
Try not to pronounce French and Italian names .....it is like bulldozer in flower shop ..........BTW the BORA is a disgusting cold wind ..coming from the north
It's actually more north eastern than northern. Bora or as we call it bura, comes down from the dinarid alps along the croatian coast, so perpendicular to the mountain range, and to the longer adriatic sea axis - ergo north eastern.
Citroen was a pioneer of power hydraulics for cars, starting in the mid 1950s on the last Traction Avant cars. The test of the car makers have taken decades to catch up.
Don't think any of those chassis were Maserati, one looked like a 4x4 jeep, then an Allegro drove past 😂,nice car, shitron cut two of those cylinders off,coz it didn't fit in citroen sm,ran rough, used it anyhoo,x
I’m sorry - but the title made me laugh!! Those 2 countries can’t keep a government for more than 6 years at a time. How could they perfect anything? 😂
How long would you have a government remain in place? Are you longing for a dictator? Those two countries will design more interesting cars in one year than tyhe u.s. will in its entire history. Btw, governments are not elected to perfect cars.

WOW Stunning Maserati Bora, always loved it. thank you for a most informative video review

I had no idea the Bora was related to the all time classic Austin Allegro.....
😂
Brilliant comment! LOL!
Would any Maserati of that era do 185?
Lol
😂
Just that one
No. Probably about 165. IE. Miura. And Daytona.
Nice looking car for it's time.
Only 564 units between 1971 and 1978. I'd hardly be surprised if development and production costs were triple the sales $ figures.

The styling of the Bora looks very close to the Detomaso Mangusta.
same designer
Both gorgeous cars.
The Bora design was and is the best of all times.
I'm so bored of all the videos that stick a few photos together and talk about it😢

It's an AI voice. Whole thing is probably written and produced by one
Unless you're actually French or Italian...
Such a sleek, beautiful design, marred by horrid US federal bumpers and cheap side marker lights.
Had a purple metallic matchbox die cast model of one when I was a kid
Was there another Citroen that had a similar body style?
(The poster, not the Boro. The Boro was intelligently engineered. Unlike this post)
It sold 560 in 7 years,a monumental failure
Horrible picture selection.
Only if Citroen garbege was not there...
Run along d-head.
