It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.

The printer ink cartridge is too delicate. -Doesnt know when ink level is low, just counts by sheets? -Printer cartridge not recognized (one time use/installation cartirdges?) has ink and electrical pin strips seems fine. Rather confusing when it gets to the step of which cartridge goes in what slot. This cheap but good printer does not even have stickers on the carriage to tell you. After watching 3x, I finally figured it out. Color goes on the LEFT, Black ink goes on the RIGHT. Also should pop up on your screen, to do a print head alignment, before printing anything important.
my Pixma 2520 is saying ink absorber almost full - how do I clean it? Charlotte Mission gives instructions on like "how to clean a cannon ink absorber" but she does not mention the model # will her instructions work on my 2520 before I tear it all apart I want to make sure it will. Thanks
Hi London: If you remove the cartridge, replace it immediately. If either the black or color cartridge isn't installed, an error occurs and the machine can't print. You must have both black and color cartridges in the printer. We hope this answers your question.

I purchased a canon Pixma MG 6820 to use for edible image printing. When trying to install the edible ink to the brand new printer I get a tank error. Error code 1750. I can not get past this error. This model came highly recommended by other bakers but I don't know how if it doesn't acknowledge the cartridges.

No, you can go into the preferences and ask for gray tones, and you can then leave in the empty cartridge and it SHOULD work. Haven't done it in a while, but in a pinch it's worked for me!

Or you need to do the align process. You print and it prints a page with colors on it. You put in on the scanner. It's called print head alignment. It's in the online manual.
I have a Pixma MG2420 and I have a Error Code 1700 it says that the Ink Absorber is almost full. Any videos or suggestions on how to take care of that??? I have already bought new ink cartridges as well to switch out the old ones.

I'm I the only one that has difficulty with this printer? I don't like this system, the cartridge holder doesn't come out so I can see what I'm doing, but it's stays under the scanplate which is stuck; all contrary to the MP495, the scanplate could be lifted up so I could clearly see the cartridge holder. The video seems to be so easy, but it is not, I have to put the cartridge in whitout see it, and I get always the warning lamp. I can't understand all the positive reactions. 😖🤕

Hi, Cynthia! If you need to remove an ink cartridge from your printer, all you need to do is push down gently but firmly on the front top edge of the cartridge. You'll hear a click sound as the cartridge pops loose and you can then pull it out completely. This is simply the process shown in the video at 1:05 but in reverse. We hope this helps!

Or you need to do the align process. You print and it prints a page with colors on it. You put in on the scanner. It's called print head alignment. It's in the online manual.

I'm I the only one that has difficulty with this printer? I don't like this system, the cartridge holder doesn't come out so I can see what I'm doing, but it's stays under the scanplate which is stuck; all contrary to the MP495, the scanplate could be lifted up so I could clearly see the cartridge holder. The video seems to be so easy, but it is not, I have to put the cartridge in whitout see it, and I get always the warning lamp. I can't understand all the positive reactions. 😖🤕

I found the cartridge, but it won't come out. How do you get it out?
Hi, Cynthia! If you need to remove an ink cartridge from your printer, all you need to do is push down gently but firmly on the front top edge of the cartridge. You'll hear a click sound as the cartridge pops loose and you can then pull it out completely. This is simply the process shown in the video at 1:05 but in reverse.

Your Canon PIXMA printer requires that each ink cartridge be installed and have at least some ink within it for proper operation. Your printer will let you know when an ink cartridge is running low, giving you time to get a replacement ink cartridge ready.

Leave the empty ink tank in and select black on anything you are printing. Most printers have the option of black ink only. :)
