    The waypoint mode can achieve really cool results - if you truly have the need for waypoints. While I like the mode - I rarely use it because the other modes cover most of the scenarios.
    If you're interested in the other modes - links are in the description. Happy flying, everyone! 🤘

    What about Task Library, saving the route for later and editing? One reason to use waypoints in hyperlapse mode is that's the only place you can use waypoints. Like I'd like to be able to use them for regular video, to control the gimbal more smoothly than I can do myself. To fly down a meandering river smoothly.

    • @YouRock-WeDrone
      @YouRock-WeDrone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a great idea! You're not the first one to ask me this. As far as I know you can't use waypoints for video or save them yet. There are third party apps that let you save the waypoints, but I'm not sure if they work with the Mavic Air 2 yet.

    Hyperlapse waypoint, dji app.
    1. When I change the altitude, I cannot change the length of the video at all. The only option it give me is 2 seconds.
    2. Also when I change the altitude, I can't rotate very far at all before it says "too far"

    Great bro¡ whats that warning about the rotation angle (too large)?

    • @YouRock-WeDrone
      @YouRock-WeDrone  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It means that the video won't be smooth because the drone will rotate too much with too few frames in between. Either increase the distance before choosing that angle or choose a lower angle.
      Cheers,

    I am confused about the Too large or too small reading when I'm trying to set up my waypoints can you talk about that a little(a lot) more? I'm trying to do a hyper lapse around my job site and it won't allow me shot where I want.

    • @YouRock-WeDrone
      @YouRock-WeDrone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes the problem is that the drone doesn't like it when the change in the rotation angle is too large from waypoint to the next.
      Let's say a waypoint has a rotation of 10 degrees, then the next waypoint should not be at 45 degrees because it's too much movement. So make another waypoint in between so that it goes from 10 degrees to 25 degrees to 45 degrees and so on. That way the results are smoother.
      Hope that helps!
      Cheers, Dan

    I just did my first hyper lapse last weekend and it came out pretty cool. I used my DJI Air 2S. One thing I would suggest when using waypoints is pulling up Google Maps ahead of time so you can look at the area and sort of map out the route you want the drone to go before you get to the location. I would also suggest after putting in all your waypoints and before you hit the start button, I would fly to the area of your first waypoint if you aren’t going to do it in reverse. I’ve been told the drone will take its time getting to that first point which will eat up some battery time. The only thing I would like to know if it’s possible to have the drone hover in place when it gets to the last waypoint but continue capturing the hyper lapse. When I did mine, it stopped capturing when it reached that last point.

    • @YouRock-WeDrone
      @YouRock-WeDrone  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love your feedback, Chuck! Thanks for checking out my video.
      Yes, that's a good tip, flip to sport mode and race over to the first waypoint, I like that!
      No, the intelligent modes are pretty "dumb". Once they complete their sequence they are programmed to fly back.
      I'd suggest to keep a close eye on it, and the moment it finishes, cancel the return to start point, keep hovering at the last waypoint, switch over to "free waypoint mode', use same interval and start a second time lapse from there just hovering.
      Then you can put the 2 together in post and hopefully it will look seamless :)
      Might be worth trying.
      Cheers,
      Dan

    can you use waypoint even if the drone is at.the back of a structure blocking the rc signal?

    • @YouRock-WeDrone
      @YouRock-WeDrone  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My understanding is, the once the drone looses signal to the controller, it will initiate the return to home function.

    Is this something like K Frame of Skydio 2?

    • @YouRock-WeDrone
      @YouRock-WeDrone  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite, I think the Skydio 2 is much more advanced (and 30% more expensive). This waypoint mode ONLY works with hyperlapses (photos) and not with video.

    What resolution is the compiled hyperlaspe?

    • @YouRock-WeDrone
      @YouRock-WeDrone  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I shot it in 4K but you can also shoot them in 1080p to save some sad card space or even 8k, but then you can only take a photo every 6s. Unfortunately I uploaded the video in 1080p to TH-cam so everything including the Hyperlapses are scaled down.

    can somebody explain the camera rotation angle part to me? gives the number an says good or bad or too big......like what does it mean? thanks

    • @YouRock-WeDrone
      @YouRock-WeDrone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, the "good" and "bad" simply indicate whether the rotation angle is too harsh which would give you a "choppy" timeplase result.
      Remember, timelapses are all about smooth movements. If you introduce too much of a change in camera angle the result will be way too hectic and not pleasing to watch.
      The good and bad simply indicates this based on the camera angle of the previous waypoint.
      Cheers, Dan
