Today we try a true authentic English meal originating from south London - Ground Beef Pies with Mash & Liquor (non-alcoholic parsley sauce) at Flo's Pie and Mash (minced steak pies). This British food challenge is not for the faint of hearts, and the only way you can get Flo's Pie Challenge for free is if you beat the record. However, it turns out that the beef pie record was just over 3 minutes, not the 7 Minutes we thought! This london food challenge has been around the a number of years and is liekly one of the most well known and famous, with thousands of attempts to get the £16 meal for free. The rules are if you can eat the meal in 20 minutes you technically "beat the challenge" but you get no real prize. They do have a wall of fame but it isn;t overly used and they no longer award t-shirts for completion either. Can we defeat this United kingdom food challenge? English mustard from ASDA. Think Walmart, as they own ASDA. You need to find 'real' mustard for your next snack. I know you have tried Colemans, and that's acceptable.

Most of the challenges I see Joel do, I couldn’t imagine doing. But this one I think I could do pretty easy.

Those were bring pies - come to NZ to taste real pies - we put anything into a pie - yum 😃
The secret ingredient is Jellied Ell jelly for the liquer, nobody puts mustard or hot sauce on this

That challenge is cheap!! Where I live we have three pie & mash shops and each charge £10.50 for two pies, two scoops of mash with liquor, so under £16 for all that is something I must go try. (It’d take me a darned sight longer than 3 minutes though!! 🙈😂😂) Great vid - thanks for sharing! 👍🏻

I moved from the UK to Europe... and yea, the change-over to the other side driving is tricky at first, but just remember "passenger to the pavement" and your good Joel. Hey how you find a manual stick? LOL. Best way to drive IMHO. Much more engaging!

A good London style meat pie and green liquor is like a hamburger -- it's such a basic food, but when it's done right, it's REALLY good.
Ive never seen Joel dress the food so heavily. This may be a reach, but I wonder if that's because he's use to the food there being completely flavorless in comparison to the states??🤔 just a thought.
I wouldn’t have put hot sauce or mustard as it changes the character of the meal……. try to eat it as intended. Saying that, I don’t do liquor but use gravy instead.
As regards where it’s from, it’s all around the docklands area of London, both South and East……. spreading out further as did the people themselves….. 🙂🇬🇧

We don’t put any of those sauces on that kind of dinner so it’s not London taste at all. We don’t use that vinegar nor do we use mustard. If you’re going to eat south east London food like that then do it the right way that’s not the way at all. That’s a cafe not proper home cooked food at all
