@Half_of_The_World A lot. You have more data to process and as a result it'll affect how you drive. However, once you get used it, it's incredibly rewarding. Definitely go for it
@Half_of_The_World there's definitely a learning curve. The biggest focus i had was making sure to stay smooth and the speed will come. Although for some it is more intuitive to race on a wheel
This Turkish driver she crashed in to was my sister. I also challenged her to do an Online race she was pretty solid. But after that crash I"ve never seen her so agressive in my entiere 16 year life :D
Thank you so much for doing this video Rory. I have been racing for about 5 months and have never tried online events. I was worried I would not be good enough but now I realise there are events that I could be competitive in. After watching drivers like yourself and others racing for the last half a year, I didn’t think I could ever get to that level. I didn’t realise the races are graded like the E class you and your wife just raced in. I’m 65 years old and new to sim racing and I’m so happy that I can have a go online as it’s always more fun playing against real people rather than the AI all the time. Cheers and thanks again.
I absolutely love the fact that you started sim racing at 65. That is SO cool. Keep it up and go have fun in the online lobbies, you can (and will) do it! :)
@@danielstabile-sq7up Thankyou so much for your encouragement. After I retired from working I moved to Thailand and was looking for something interesting to do and I certainly made the right choice with sim racing. I bought a PS5, steering wheel and cockpit. Probably my favorite video ive watched in a long while. Not just of yours Rory but on all of TH-cam. That was awesome! Well done Erin!! Immense progress and a thrilling drive to watch. I hope there is more of this to come! 👏👏👏

That was really entertaining thank you. Erin is a star. Look out, she will be in your slipstream......lol. In the words of the late great Murray Walker....'With half the race gone, there is still half the race to go'.

Her smiles truly tells us she had fun learning and playing, which is the most important part of experiencing Grand Turismo. Glad to see it, well done 👍
I’ve taught people before, it’s actually more beneficial to take off the racing line and teach them to spot the breaking points themselves, just because they end up looking down at the track too much and it prevents them from looking forward and at the apexes like they should be, it’s actually just quicker to teach them how to feel the breaks and spot the apexes
So I watched this and then went to this track and followed the coaching you did for your wife and it helped me immensely. I recently bought a wheel and just started weening myself off the assists. I'd love to see a whole series of you coaching Erin on every track cause I feel like I would benefit from your coaching as well. Thanks for this.
Loved this - I would always rather finish 30 seconds behind in last than quit! Very good progress Erin, think the favour should be returned in another video and Rory should have to do something of your choosing. (Oh, and subscribed now.)
Never played any of the GT games but it's easy for us to forget that we all started out like this in some game or another. She's a quick learner, I'll give her that.
Congrats Erin, she's done so much improvement in such a short time despite all the driving assists that actually slowed the car down. Next time, maybe you can remove all these marks and indicators on the road. I mean, they are distracting to me. Cheers from Belgium 🇧🇪
