    I consider Cruyff the greatest. When u consider what he has done. He's not only one of the greatest footballer, but arguably the greatest tactician, and work's for the betterment of football. He's the complete package. He's the GOD

      He changed the way the people look at football.Like Van Gogh changed the way people looked at paining back then. A true artist. Before his arrival, football was a different sport.

    "...make some tutti frutti."
    That's Johan Cruyff - when he speaks, we listen.

    Whenever I listen to Johan, I am always convinced that he is on a totally different level than others.
    And always I am amazed how he can explain things in the simplest of language. Sometimes people laugh at his simplicity of words, but I think he is one of the greatest communicators ever.

    Ik begin nu pas the begrijpen hoe belangrijk Cruyff is geweest voor de voetbalwereld.
    Veel dingen die we nu voor lief nemen waren verre van vanzelfsprekend voor zijn intrede.

    Cruyff is completely correct about ?what is defending?
    The point being that if you have a starting 11 with hard working, great technical players...then you can accomplish everything...
    Understanding, awareness, and hard work.
    Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola have won how many european cups playing this way?

    • @botulum
      @botulum 7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Because Guardiola learned everything he knows from Cruijff and Ancelotti learned a lot from Sacchi.

    • @sexybeast7728

      Pique is modern example of that defender. When left one on one with great dribbler, he is literally useless.

    • @danielhackett1581
      @danielhackett1581 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats not what he meant... he meant a player can be a poor tackler but if he is tactically disciplined enough to close down the space together with his teammates then that is the most important thing when it comes to 'defending'.

      Something happend to him and his family during the world cup's when he was a player for national team he and his family got kind of kidnapped in their house and they forced him to lose with the dutch team, after that horrible event he swore he did not wanted to deal with the nationals ever again as to not playing for the nationals and not coaching for the nationals either. That is the main reason he never coached the netherlands

    • @AnnieB8844
      @AnnieB8844 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you need to watch other video's of him. In possession, he plays 3-4-3. Without the ball, he plays 4-3-3. He basically prefers to look at the ABILITY of his players on the ball, then to look at how they are strong and can tackle, because they do not add to your play.

    • @1hsan369
      @1hsan369 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      His Barcelona's team played 3-4-3 diamond. There are not many coaches who convinced to play that system nowadays. Only a few like Bielsa which we could describe it as 3-3-3-1.

      Jannik Toftegård Trolle so is Mourinho and others, then why do geniuses like you comment against him then. Infact as a coach Jose has had more success than him. Also, that was the best performance Dutch had since he was in the team. Not because he does not like it, it means that the Dutch were bad. Also I never insulted him. I love him. But the truth is you can't always say you are the one who is right. I hope I have clarified myself

      He doesn't say his way is the best, he tells about his football ideology and his tactics and he gets asked what he would do with his ideology, and to be fair his tactics are probably the best for results AND enjoyable to watch unlike parking the bus like Mourinho or Conte

    • @michaelcartwright1260
      @michaelcartwright1260 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      This is part of his greatness in my opinion. He has a clear idea of how he wants football to be played and doesn't allow this to be muddled. He may be wrong, as you think, but he believes he is right.
