Meh... sh*ts gettin' old now, just like me. I saw ZZ Top a few years ago here in California (while Dusty was still alive) and it was obvious they were playing to backing tracks, it was an outdoor venue at Avila Beach Resorts. It was still kinda fun, although most of the crowd we're unaware of it, but as a musician myself, I recognized it right away.
Everyone has to or needs to retire eventually. Billy was my guitar hero and the biggest influence I had learning guitar and crafting my sound but it’s hard to watch most of the time now. I know he has to be doing it because he loves it and not because he needs the money. Time to relax and play the promoter to put together great guitar players on stage.
