Good to see and hear Sir...always a pleasure
Does the GTS sound any better with just a single turbo?
Do you get power steering plus or do you not get power steering plus of your rwd gts?
Johnny lives
The rare wheel drive or all wheel?
All these people here bitching about hybrid as if the pinicle of motorsports hasn't been using hybrids for the better part of a decade....it's almost like all these "car guys" have never watched f1 or wec....
The hybrids are definitely not an improvement from the V10 days
F1 is not a thing Americans would watch. It's considered too sophisticated and therefore not syndicated in the United States, at least not on the scale of "Nascar".
@gonzalesg0221 what are you talking about? They make way more power, are way more efficient. F1 cars have never been faster than in the turbo hybrid era.
@@AnnatarTheMaia this is a stupid comment....we have 3 grand prix in the US per year and a massive following for f1
@fluffywarhampster The sound and excitement in person, the current cars are disappointing in person. I don't care about how much more fuel efficient they are now. I go to events for entertainment and enjoyment.
*OMG the repair bill to replace the battery in the future will be super expensive, they should just keep it simple*
Just walk then man, never have to worry about anything, just buy new shoes from time to time. It's cheap.
@@derbigpr500 *^comment makes no sense*
Most new owners lease and wont keep the car past its factory warranty, so a non factor for them
that's the next owner's problem
It’s a small 1.9 kwh battery. Barely bigger than toyota hybrid 1.3 kwh. Unless Porsche want to RIP off customer by overcharging the replacement
U didn’t comment on iconic key they switched it with button
Is this ice gray metallic?
Was wondering what the color was also.
Looks like Arctic grey
Its their new Flat color called Slate Grey.
No, check the build on the Porsche website and you will see the color specs options.
Wec hypercars have hybridization
I'm definitely questioning the longevity of said Electric driven turbo system.
Not connected to exhaust or oil system. The only 2 real failure points of a turbo. Assuming Egr doesn’t feed pre turbo.
I'm sure the porsche engineers did not consider longevity at all. 911s usually don't live long lives
Why? Do you think we haven't come to understand electric motors - yet? The Pearl Street Power Station was built in New York City by Thomas Edison in 1882. We've been doing electric motors for a while now.
@@kencreten7308 LOL! I probably generated more electricity than you have used in your whole life, unless you're really old!🤣🤣That's a pretty poor comparison to a electric driven turbo in a Porsche.
I do know turbo's quite well. No matter if it is exhaust driven or electric driven, the RPM's are going to be quite considerable. That is just the nature of the beast. I'm quite sure the veins on the impeller are a bit different than an exhaust driven turbo, but you still can't avoid basic engineering and high rpm's are still going to be a requisite.
It is still a piece of equipment with very tight tolerances. That combined with the high RPMS and 100 percent constant use, definitely makes it a part that is high on the eventual failure list. Only time will tell the longevity of said part. At least there's not the high heat from the exhaust driven side that would cook the oil and Coke up the bearings.
It would be interesting if they released the turbo map figures on this particular setup.
@@rayjay8322 I'm sure you don't know jack compared to Porsche engineers, who developed this, and you know, who have a tendency of developing indestructible super high performance cars that just keep working no matter what you do to them. So yea, keep questioning, wannabe Scotty Kilmer. The only enemy to Porsche's reliability (as to any other European car) is an american owner, most of whom believe servicing your car regularly is just a scam by the dealership, and then don't do it, and then cry when something goes on. That's why the same cars in the US have about 20x more breakdowns compared to the same cars in the EU. And they're driven much harder in the EU on top of it. Says a lot.
like 66 !
Jeezus did Johnny swallow another 911 before he filmed this…? Or is that just the side effect of removed DLRs..?
Hybrid at least have the ice .... no fully ev crapiolas pls
No manual and electrified. Might as well be a luxury high performance Prius
Tell me you're clueless without saying it.
...are you being serious right now?
Boooooo…… GTS should be naturally aspirated, ultra high rpm, and as light as possible.
Why would anyone in their right mind get a hybrid… gas savings? Give me a break.
Did you even care about reading up on this hybrid and what it does, or do you usually prefer to jump to dumbass conclusions? Its much faster, has zero turbo lag, more efficient and not heavier than before. And the system will be more reliable and durable because this turbo inherently has less moving parts and is under less stress.
You may not understand that this is not a typical hybrid; Porsche essentially took the hybrid tech from Formula 1 and put it in a street car.
The performance coming from combining an electric with combustion engine is CRAZY good! And this comes from a manual, 3L NA V6 purist.
I wholeheartedly recommend you go for a testdrive in one of these performance oriented hybrids. It's a life changing experience.
Sad. Climate cultists have devalued the Porsche brand.
It’s more about performance. I don’t think this car has anything to do with fuel efficiency
Sad that some people on youtube can't wait to show how clueless they are. We urgently need an IQ test as a requirement for posting comments. Too bad 90% of you wouldn't be able to post them then.
