I guess the silver lining about having a reaction like that is gaining experience and a better idea on what to expect. Now you know that your body needs a slower infusion time or more pre-meds. Also, you're in the best possible place to be to get through an anaphylactic reaction! Chemo nurses are absolute gems who can handle anything. Sending good vibes for gentler chemo rounds ahead. X

The nurses worked so fast! I started coughing and immediately people were flying in cause my nurse pushed the hypersensitivity protocol button. They remained calm but worked fast to get me back to normal. I knew I was in good hands but it was still scary not being able to breathe. Definitely would rather not deal with it again but if it does happen we know what to expect!

Your a trooper. You did great on your first chemo. Praying for you.

I loved your little jab at your mom with the alcohol comment--that was cute.

I had the same with Taxol and had the same the 2nd and 3rd time! Yes it was scary. I was hopped off on Benadryl and Ativan.
