I really, REALLY want to like this video more than the other one.
The atmosphere, the visuals, the units on display (Salamanders!), it all seems absolutely perfect.
Except for one major flaw:
I can't hear any of the voices over the music and sound effects!
Seriously, voice acting was probably DoW's strongest point!

Hey, it's the cool guy who made DoW videos!
This i why i like the guard. For all the greatness that is the space marines, the Imperial guard face the same foes, the same threats and do it without any of the technology or equipment of the Marines. They stare down the demons of chaos themselves, with but a standard issue lasgun and a prayer.
Not to mention that every guard general has arguably the greatest speeches
+Niall Duffield the imperial guardsman throw as many men at them as it takes to kill it.
For a group of conscripts in the UA mod they basically have one working rifle and the rest are laser pointers. A regular guardsman squad is like a single conscript against chaos deamons if you think about it. Yes they are awesome and they are my main but if you use logic, they don't have the most effective army. Probably the reason they devote entire planets to making tanks.

As someone who's fought the absurdly overpowered Chaos Daemons faction in the Ultimate Apocalypse mod on hard difficulty, the sight of the Chaos forces they were facing filled me with dread, and also gave me massive chills during Sturnn's speech about facing doom.

I fought chaos deamons with IG, it was very hard, but after 2 hours and a huge defensive i managed to win

Even the graphics are somehow better then DOW 3. Like not in quality, since DOW 3 does look better quality wise, but DOW 1 has a grittiness and darkness to it that isn't really in DOW 3.

I've seen worse cinematics for games that came out this year! I've been watching this and the first one since the start of the year and still can't get enough!
Sturn's speech gives me goosebumps every time.

I like to believe the 412th cadian was there on cadia as it cracked apart, still firing upon the enemy as their flesh boiled away from their bones and the ground quaked apart under forces unimaginable.

Bloody hell. This is the most epic thing I've seen all year or should I say the most epic thing I've ever seen on all my years on youtube. Honestly if and when Relic releases Dawn of War 3 ; the trailer for that will never be as epic as this. This trailer just nails everything to a tee :)

Looking back I admit the DOW III trailer exceeded my expectations, it was perhaps the greatest since the first Dawn Of War trailer but even so this fanmade trailer was incredible for what it was. I honestly would love it if this guy did another :D
@@Damocles178 Well, I agree that DOW3 trailer was amazing, but here's the problem: The game fucking sucks and is an insult to all true Warhammer 40k fans. This video however looks awesome despite being made in such an extremely dated engine and all the love and passion for it from the modders shows. I just wish that all the cool chapters were added into the Ultimate Apocalypse mod to combine it all and make a truly ultimate, lore accurate, apocalyptic experience.

@@paradoxcraft5585 unification uses the Tyranid mod to add them into the game. But from what I heard the next major update for unification will have their own version of the tyranid faction without the mod.

see i dont get this. How does fantastic work like this filled with not only amazing visuals but also the amazing feel and the great amount of obvious effort put into it, not get a ton of views? While people like pewdiepie and markiplier get millions of subs when all they do is scream into a camera? Seriously such a shame.

11/10/2023. Dawn of War is still alive. Especially if you do either Dawn of War Ultimate Apocalypse or Dawn of War Unification.

2020, DAWN OF WAR STILL FIGTHING
Emagine if there were to be some sort of DOW mod(or perhaps a new DoW game) which can have like for example, a four human players play in same team with same faction, but each of them is doing like different aspect of that faction. For example one is controling airforce, other infantry, third vehicles and so on, and in order to suceed they gotta work together like a team xD vs opposing guys who try to do same.

Look up a game called "Wargame". It's literally that.
Or even better, look up "World in Conflict" - in the multiplayer for that game, you stay on one side (USA / NATO or USSR) and one of four different doctrines which behave very differently and are all useful. Those are Air, Armor, Infantry and Support. It's just a shame that the multiplayer isn't as active as it used to be years ago.

This is by far, the most single-handedly Badass thing, I have ever had the good fortune to watch. If this were a campaign, I would play it, I would pay to play it, I would buy it, I do whatever it took to get it and enjoy it. This amazing video makes me remember why Relic's new third Dawn of War game is totally shit compared to the previous iterations of Dawn of War. I still play the first, and, even if the second game changes lots of things, it was awesome in its own way. But the third part looks horrible and doesn't feel like a Warhammer video game at all, just another LOL clone, just in space (have you seen Angelos now?... He looked ten times better in Dawn of War II...). I do really hope people gets tired of that cartoonish look for a chance.

Man this is really the epitome of what the legacy of a great game is. The mod community alone is awe inspiring.
I am not gonna lie; im planning to get myself to paint all 7 companies of the Salamanders because of their fluff and lore around their "Promethium Cult". But these voicelines from General Sturnn makes me want to split off to doing Cadian 412th as my alternative army. Maybe even pull a "siege of vraks" style collection of Salamanders, Salamanders Successors and Cadian 412th as my imperial half lol.
I wonder went will come the day that some big movie studio make a movie about the warhamer 40,000 universe....A horus Heresy movie trilogy will do great, or may be a tv show. Your video is outstanding, very inspiring ! Thanks for sharing !

Too bad that these awesome speeches aren`t part of the gameplay. Instead all i have is getting frustrated over stupid pathfinding.
ive only ever played Soulstorm, so i havent heard many of these speeches. if theyre not part if the gameplay, where are they from?
+Phoenix Fire Winter assault has some speeches I think. And I assume you destroyed all the strongholds, so yea.
I know its late but alot of the deep lines come from the first two games though dark crusade had a feature that commanders would talk smack to each other if sieging their base for some reason they removed this from soulstorm all the guards lines come from winter assault
@@Jeffemcd08 Actually the "let them come we are ready" that's from the chaos stronghold when you assault it in soulstorm… granted not as awesome because its from a deranged human instead of a demon, the other speeches are likely only accessible via mods as I remember one video the guy playing was getting destroyed by the imperial guard then you would hear Lukas alexander's speech to rub salt into the already gapping wound.
I swear i get goosbumps everytime i watch this and i absolutly love it.
