As a reminder for people coming to this today, my TH-cam account/name changed, and when that happened, all of my previous comment replies under the old name were removed by TH-cam. So there's likely to be a ton of comments on all my older videos now that seem like people are talking to themselves. Sorry!
After 350 hours in the game, on this planet you want a very large solar panel first and large battery, because on clear days you can yield the full 80 power. Your best wind turbines are still gimped at 33 or 50 and will eat up spares faster due to degradation during storms. Furthermore, you want your mines as close to your airlock as possible. That dorm blocked your ideal mine line. You couldn't place the first mine because it was too far from your second airlock. Also don't waste metal on the small biodome. It is the most inefficient use of resources and space. Planetbase just got a huge engine upgrade to unity 2022.3 (experimental beta in steam). Graphics are better and it runs much smoother. You should revisit this game.
Two things to remember for S planet: 1: Lightning rods. Everywhere. If it's not protected, it's going to get hit. 2: Power storage. You never have enough. Because of the clouds, you have no reliable and predictable power source. Expect times when you'll have to go several days with little or no power generation.
You probably don't have to. It wasn't a great game, and Paradox's upcoming mars game honestly seems better despite being focused on the 1900s pop misconception of a mars colony rather than the proper scientific appearance of one.
Hello I know this is an old video series but I can't play you other planetbase videos beyond the first episode. When I try to watch the 2nd the video would not load and when is does load the video seem corrupted because the video is covered in green static.
Aside from being more basic than actual life, not really :D Solar panels get about 30% sunlight on cloudy day which is about right. We can argue how much it should really be, but definitely not 0% :)

Random Fact: Class S “Planet” Is actually based on a Moon of Saturn called Titan.
Oh hey, planetbase. I thought the era of this getting LPs ended over a year ago. Cool
Now I just need to see someone play Sol 0 Mars Colonization for a blast from that part of the past.

I was trying to enjoy it but kept screaming that you could make each building bigger. Hope you "beat" it, I never have lol
HotTips! Its ok im on your twitch watching you smash it! =)
I will be watching at both. Keep up the good work!
You can't build large on Class - S immediately you have 50% of the resources you would have on The first planet.
Oooooooo cool
Seems like this game is lots of complaining and conditions that really make no logical sense (see solar power collection under full cloud cover)

it’s a moon not a planet
Ya ikr
