I'm happy that you liked him. Klaus Nomi was raised an hour west of where I live, in the very south of Germany, near Immenstadt in 1944. He became first pastry cook and later studied singing in Berlin. In 1973 he moved to New York. He was gay and one of the very early victims of the AIDS epidemic. He died in 1983. He was otherworldly. I miss him.
Always fun to see people respond so positively to Klaus :) I was shown Lightning Strikes as something purely "isn't this weird" but I was impressed with the vocals and looked up his other stuff. Glad I did. What a weird, wonderful talent.
Klaus was a German who went to New York in the 70's and became something of a sensation on the art scene there often combining outlandish costume and make up with stage performance and of course music,( he did do opera arias), he backed David Bowie on Saturday Night Live and produced two interesting albums, ( this track is from Simple Man from 1982). He unfortunately died young in 1983. really nice to see a reaction to him and would love to see more.
Was so excited to see a reaction to Klaus!! Couldn't believe it. Haven't even watched the reaction yet, but gave an automatic thumbs up! So glad that others will hear that incredible voice :)
Yeah, when the Bros asked if Klaus was still around I truly lamented his early passing. I think my introduction to Klaus Nomi was the documentary "The Nomi Song" (2004). I believe it's available to see right here on TH-cam. For some reason I seriously thought Klaus Nomi was a character made up for that documentary, or what I thought was a fake documentary. Truly an out of this world man...who also made delicious pastries.
So Awesome that y’all actually enjoyed - I stumbled upon him back in 2007 & once I got over the weird, oddness, eccentric stuff I was seriously impressed. I highly recommend watching the documentary about him (you can find it on TH-cam)
I am glad that I am not the last person to remember Klaus Nomi, if you really want to hear something really good by him you should check out the Klaus Nomi rendition the Twist that Chubby Checker originally did Klaus turned it into something you would not believe is possible. Another interesting song by him is I can't help falling in love with you, the old Elvis Pressley song, after you hear that one you will swear that he is the greatest singer of all time.
I like your reaction, you have the ability to see or hear a real talent. He was already a dying man when he gave this performance, it was the last one. He died of AIDS August 1983. He was outstanding, a great artist at the beginning of a great career, sadly he passed, before he was able to fulfill his dream. RIP Klaus

Klaus was an artist from another dimension. Too good for this world
You were a beautiful soul who left us to soon...RIP Klaus Nomi.
Klaus Nomi ... A special place in my younger years. Thanks for reacting to this amazing singer...
Was lucky enough to be in the punk and new wave seen in London, new York and Hollywood. I'm happy to hear your reaction.

Congratulations on being the first reactors I've seen review Klaus. Keep up the deep dives.
This is the only reaction in youtube to my number 1 boy Klaus Nomi, so I´m leaving my like over HERE

He was opera trained. One of a kind.

Delighted amazement on the faces, like me when I first heard Klaus sing, “lightning strikes.” Good job boys.

I'm probably with every one: Total Eclipse is really at a different level. You guys are amazing ❤❤
Klaus nomi was so cool!!!!
Also worth seeing " the cold song" by klaus nomi. He sung with bowie and others.
Very good U2 i'm 51 and saw him the first time in 82. Good to know u keep him alive. 💛
I was 18 when he died, it feels like yesterday........
Fantástico como lo recuerdan ustedes los jóvenes a este cantante especial en su tiempo lastima los mejores se van primero esto se llama opera rock tal vez
He leído en varias partes que es pop fusionado con opera y con tintes de new wave
Check out one of his other song, it's more fast paced: Klaus Nomi - Total Eclipse 1981 Live Video HD
Check out klaus and David bowie, the man who sold the world on Saturday night live, its amazing 👏
You can at least still go to nyc and see Joey Arias perform rather regularly (and once even with Kristian to sing Simple Man)
Вауууууу! Ребята, классно, супер! ❤
I believe this concert was his last public performance before he passed away.
What a terrible loss. He was brilliant.
Klaus Nomi was an amaicing singer, please, react to "Cold Song" or "Total Eclipse"
You should listen to the studio version. This was recorded close to his death and he was very ill.
Heard this for the first time with you guys. That was bugged out.
