I am teaching my oldest GR8 Granddaughter how to sew. We decided (together) to sew a 1st time quilt. Your videos have been tremendously helpful. I have been sewing for over 60 years and am HONORED to be asked to teach her. My Grandmothers both helped me learn to sew quilt squares but both passed on before we actually put one together So naturally I was I was overjoyed when I found your beginner quilting series. Thank You for your down to earth tutorials!!!
Your videos were very helpful to me while making a baby quilt for our first grandchild. I just finished the quilt tonight. Our grandson was born last Friday, perfect timing! Thanks for the informative videos.
Your series made more sense to me than anything else I've watched! I'm working on my first quilt... it's small. A little quilt for my granddaughter's baby doll. But it's teaching me a lot without being too overwhelming. Thanks for your guidance!

How I wish I had seen this series before I started my first quilt a couple of months ago. I see how I could have avoided several issues. Knowing what I know now, I can see that this is the perfect tutorial for the beginner quilter. The only thing I can think of right off hand is needles. I don't remember you talking about needle types and sizes or your preferred threads. Other than that, I'm so glad this is out here and I will be referring to the series from time to time as new/old questions come up. Thanks for such a great job!!

I am so thankful for this whole series! You've been so helpful and thorough! There's so many videos and websites out there that are so overwhelming and I appreciate your to the point instructions so much. Keep it up! Hopefully you'll have more coming! (Also, thanks for showing the stitching going off the edge off the back, I totally would have ripped that out before you told me not to, lol!)
The binding is turning out to be the hardest for me. I sew the 1/4 “ seam all around on the back side just fine. When I did the front side on my practice quilt I did it on the machine. There were places that it didn’t catch and you could see the edge of the quilt and batting. So when I made a second one I hand stitched it and the same thing happened. I had to touch it up and went around the whole binding a second time. Any advice ? Your tutorials are really great.
Good catch! I didn’t explain this and I should have! I know many people use their walking foot to attach their binding. I used to as well! I started to see that my walking foot wasn’t creating as straight of a line as my regular press er foot did. At that point I didn’t realize you can change the height of your presser foot against your machine, and that’s what was causing the squirrly line while I did the binding lol at this point it’s just a personal preference to use my regular foot!
