      I believe it mainly temporarily stops our immune system overreaction response to covid. I guess it helps the lungs too. I used the HP nebulizer protocol to stop my constant covid cough. The dexamethasdone relived the overall dizziness and weakness symptoms of the rona imo.

      @@bryanhauschild4376 not that I'm aware of. The daily dose is very low..something like 5mgs a day right after dinner for 6 days. I started feeling better on the 4th day. So it's not taken long enough to do anything more than stop the annoying covid storm. But you can't take before u have a fever and feel the inflammation. This is a rule I guess. That's why they don't prescribed it unless you are feeling the bad symptoms for a few days imo.

      Dexamethasone is also "used to prevent allergic reactions" with some chemotherapy drugs.

      @NurseRyan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, some quick research brought me to two articles. The first: Postnatal dexamethasone, respiratory and neurodevelopmental outcomes at two years in babies born extremely preterm (2017), stated "Postnatal dexamethasone use in extremely preterm infants is associated with increased risks of respiratory hospital admissions and neurodevelopmental impairment."
      The second: The effectiveness and side effects of
      dexamethasone in preterm infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (1993), has a table titled "Complications of corticosteroid treatment" (Table 2) on page 4. This table includes many of the side effects of dexamethasone reported in preterm infants.
      However, this is just quick research and I have no experience with preterm babies. I always recommend speaking to your primary healthcare provider for any actual medical advice, as these videos are only for educational purposes. Hope that helps!

      If you suspect that you have taken too much Dexamethasone, you should seek medical attention immediately or contact poison control. Corticosteroid overdose can be life-threatening. That being said, 36mg does sound like an acceptable dose, depending on the reason you have taken it for.
