One of the great things about that time was the enormous energy bands spent trying NOT to sound like anyone else, and Wall of Voodoo certainly took that principle to the absolute limit. It's no exaggeration to say that, in the entire lexicon of any kind of music, nobody has sounded anything like these guys. That's a pretty rare distinction if you think about it.
@@keithbate9405 oh absolutely if you put them on the same bill is 100 Gecs or Death Grips nobody would blink an eye, especially their Dark Continent stuff.
My wife somehow picked up on that line even though I've played her 1000s of songs. Every time I say to go or something like that I get "so and so wont go" . married the right gal. That line was the one that truly made my mom crazy -- or all the stuff I listened to growing up.
Ah, The Catalyst. Saw some of the best shows of my life there or at other Santa Cruz venues. Leon Redbone, Public Enemy, Neko Case, Camper Van Beethoven, of course.... I love Wall of Voodoo. Thank you for this.
Magnifico. A parte la bravura di Stan & soci, altro che le riprese fatte con il telefonino del c***o di oggi! Questo tracciato sonoro si sente bene davvero. Grazie mille.
this is 1981

The problem for WOV is they were years ahead of their time . Few got them at the time , and even 40 years or so later they sound modern to my ears.
This band is amazing
There music is unique 🤠 and blend of poetry
I wish saw these guys in the 80s a little after I was born but their great ☺️👍

Still loving them in 2022
One of my all time favorite bands. I was too young to see them live, it's good to see so much footage of them lately.
These guys are awesome 😎
This is pure gold!! 👏👏👏
Saw them with Andy Prieboy as singer at "The Barn" at UC Riverside back in the 80's. Completely original great band!
SO different. Even now.
It like music from some alternate dimension. They really tapped into something ethereal
Stan is so cute I love the lil hand motions he does
(The final sounds you hear after WoV's stage departure is entitled "Grandma's House")
