Trains at Ely, FL - 28/9/19

Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Ely on the Fen Line where services are seen by Greater Anglia, Great Northern (brand of Thameslink), CrossCountry and East Midlands Railway.
Ely was great to visit again, the station is located in a beautiful countryside area with great scenery and views all round. The station is one of those ones in the county of Cambridgeshire with a surprising amount of variety in companies and trains. The station has 3 platforms with East Midlands Railway reversing here on both the Liverpool and Norwich services, this was also my first time filming East Midlands Railway. The station has some decent facilities for one of the smaller cities of the UK and serves a great link to London. This was by far the best visit to Ely I've done! Highly recommended station.

Fun fact: Ely (along with 3 other stations on the Fen Line) have the lowest % of electric trains running at an electrified stations (only 25% electric, and 75% diesel units).
