    I’m 62 & new to EMTBs. Got interested watching Steve Jones videos over the winter months so I bought an EMTB in February ‘21. Thanks for the content, info, tips, tricks, inspiration & laughs. EMTBs have been a great way to get the body & mind thru this Covid disaster. Thank you.

    Great video Steve, loved it... it puts the reality back into the effort still required on an eMtb. I'm 64 and still love riding and racing... I ride with my nephew Jack Moir every now and then and it is so great being able to ride the same trails and keep up, well until it points down and he takes off bouncing of banks trees and whatever else is on the trail. I've raced some local enduros and it is great fun... but when you finish each run, you are completely exhausted... just like Steve was. Great video, so relatable.

    Beast Mode for 9.5 hours, Beer Mode for the rest of the day... huge effort! Coconut water is the go-to for hydration with the electrolytes to fix the cramping...

    Struth Steve that looked hard. Feel free to punch out any ebike hater that says it's easy or a lasy man's sport. Thanks for going through the pain to show what its actually like. Well done mate.

    Superstrong Steve!! Very well done - amazing effort and great that you manage to work it out the hole day and not gave it up.
    I can really feel your pain and your struggle - it must been very hard to again and again struggle to get yourself together before every new stage.
    Great film, very good work with the movie itself.

    Dam at 10:18 Mr. Jones just layout in the grass without looking at the ground first, here in So Cal you want to look at the ground before you layout as we have critters call Rattle Snakes:/

    Thanks for showing Pietra Ligure trails. I think it is perfect for emtb and add new trails to Finale Ligure outdoor region. Besides monte Grosso trails you can easily reach Ranzi trails, monte carmo ones, rollercoaster ... Lot of trails near sea with one battery.

    My question might not be totally related to this specific video. But I always hear you guys saying you rent a battery on your destination since you can’t fly with one. But how do you actually find out where you can rent one. Say I’d want to go to sintra Portugal, how would I find out where I can rent a battery?

  • @theclanmeikle6135
    @theclanmeikle6135 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome work. At 110 kg I feel your pain, but you can get stronger than the 50 - 60 kilo guys and out sprint them on the flat and at least match them on the hills. I ride with the power off now most of the time and for extra training use my non e bikes on hills.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve was joking, he is around 90 kg ;-) Still too much for being competitive. He is probably in the average-to-fair cardio-fitness range.

    • @theclanmeikle6135
      @theclanmeikle6135 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ hi mate, I know he's 90 kg. I'm 110 kg and feel his pain

    • @rickywoods3101
      @rickywoods3101 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theclanmeikle6135 I thought about doing my first race but Im about 105kg but I'm a really lean, I been lifting weights for 17 years now(started at 14) and been training mma for a while.. Do you think I would have a chance of doing good at this weight? or would I have to drop a lot of muscle ?

    • @theclanmeikle6135
      @theclanmeikle6135 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rickywoods3101 I wouldn't drop muscle. You can be heavy and fast. I average around 22 mph on my road bike for a couple of hours and I stay in Scotland with hills all around. Your legs get stronger as well as your cardiovascular system. I'm 51 now but feel in my 20s. Go for it and you will be surprised 😉

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theclanmeikle6135 Agree, just drop fat and try to keep muscle. I'm 200 km away from 20.000 km on bikes this year. Around 8% body fat, still at 80 kg, 180 cm tall. Not the lightest in my category. But my cardio level measured with Polar Vantage sports watch is Elite (54). I've reduced output on my 2020 Trance E+0 to 50 % of company settings and enjoy it like a madman. Laughing often watching Steve panting in Turbo mode on steeps that I usually do in ECO mode w/o any special effort ;-) BTW, 56 years old, feel like 20 also, in my best shape ever!
