    Good honest review man, fully agree with what you had to say..I Love my spindrift, it's no xc bike but for 180mm travel I feel it climbs better than most medium-long travel bikes I've tried. Biggest surprise for me was how poppy it feels with so much travel, I personally run a coil shock and it basically feels like a playful DH bike on the desents. Not sure how much they charge in the US but here in Europe I genuinely think they can't be beaten for value especially with the custom build options.. keep up the good work 👍

    i absolutley love my spindrift! im in england and have had mine since 2017, raced DH on it loads, raced enduros on it, even did a 50km (about 37ish miles) event in snowdonia and came top 50 out of over 200 hundred riders, XC whippets could fire by on the climbs but nothing could touch the speed of the spindrift on the downs! such a fun and fast bike! id love to try it with a mullet set up too!
    not the greatest to pedal up but itl do it no problem! and it always puts a smile on my face going down, can pop and play with ease! and eats up any terrain!

      @mtbyumyum  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow, thanks for weighing in!! Yeah, sounds like I had a similar experience... lots of fun on the downs and you can just tell this thing want to go high speed... Thanks for the comment!

      I've got a spindrift with a coil and mullet setup. The mullet setup is soo good and works really well with the spindrift. Slackers the head angle by just short of 1 degree if u put a 29 inch 170mm fork on it.

    • @connorevans4246
      @connorevans4246 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joealcock3605 ive been thinking of going mullet with mine, seen it done with a 160mm before, hows the 170 affect geometry? does it lift the bb much? or slacken the seat angle too much?

    • @joealcock3605
      @joealcock3605 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@connorevans4246 I did some research before I went mullet. The bike is designed around a 180mm 650b fork so they recommend you take 10mm off the travel when going mullet so it doesn't make the geometry horrible. I dont notice the slackened seat tube angle although you feel slightly more upright due to the front end being lifted a little. The BB is ever so slightly higher and I don't notice that much either. You can tell a difference when going downhill, it feels even more stable and eats up rocks and roots super well. Id only go mullet if your maily focused on going downhill as that's where you feel the biggest difference.

    Keep up the good work. I love the honest reviews, sponsored or not you always tell it like you see it.
    Nice to see a humble fella say a bike isn't a great climber rather than those who gloss over it and pretend like it's no big deal. I'd rather hear that than the cliche...."it climbs better then you'd expect".
    Your quote...."Smiles for miles" could be the subtitle of the video about this bike. I've a great idea of what it's like from this review.

    Very nice review and pretty much sums up how i feel about spindrift. I've owned Spindrift for few months now. I previously had a 2017 giant trance which i tuned more towards descends ( -2 degree angleset, longer travel front and rear (150/140 to 160/146) ), the trance was good on descends, but the spindrift is just so much more stable and really good the faster you go. For me the spindrift is now the only bike, but my focus is on descends. I'd say spindrift is a good bike if you love to go to bikeparks, but still want the option to do some random riding on your local trails.

    As you said is all about your local trails, if I had the terrain, I would get a spindrift without thinking twice, sadly all around me is xc, flow trails at most 😅 (I knew Propain for a while, so glad to see them spreading more)

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, Propain makes some incredible bikes! The Hugene was so much fun and perfect for the trails I ride every week. The Spindrift was a blast but too much bike for my trails. When I first rode the Yeti SB150 over a year ago I was blown away and wanted one but sadly never got one for the same reason I wouldn't get the Spindrift... they're so fun and you can't believe how stable they are at high speed but I just dont have the terrain or speed for these type of bikes. Super fun though! I guess I just need to make time to get up to a ski resort and ride bigger trails.

    I first heard of this brand from one of the European bike TH-cam channels that picked one of the models the best trail bike of the year . It seems like the market is getting a bit saturated which I guess is good for the consumer but difficult for some brands to maintain a market share to exist .
