    @nder12345 No. An electric machine has a lower operating cost to run compared to a diesel machine. The benefit to a diesel powered dragline, such as this 380, is that it allows the machine to work in areas where it may be too costly or difficult for the mining company to supply the electric power for the machine. Also a diesel machine is a little more versatile than an electric machine

    Nice video. I ran one in Miami digging lime rock,not bad running machine once you get used to it.They are pretty fast.

    @bankrun04 I was on it but it takes a lot of practice before you can operate a dargline.

    Glad I found this one. I like a friction rig and I bet this one is a dandy. But looks like the setup powered up/down/in/out on a 4600 gets the prize for clutch lining and brake band wear. Thanks, Pal! You did a FINE job explaining the 4600 setup. Even goofy me could understand it!

      I have an old Army TM (tech manual) on a P&H truck mounted we used at the asphalt plant till the swings gave out. There is a MYRIAD if stuff to dig out and around. You did a FINE job! A-PLUS!

    I Rebuilt these D 399 Cat Engines in the 80s Valves were spun welded on the 1000 hp and would break at full hoist and swing due to low hp the next version of the engine went to 1200 hp at 1000 rpm so it worked better also single piece valves were pdated into the cyl.heads...
