Great video, bead maker does have its place and its hard to top its properties, and results but for interiors thats a go to 100%. It might just begin to be ground breaking specifically for interior because with more of these manufacturers putting in more delicate surfaces bead maker will just make it even better.

    • @DETAILSofficial

@@alphag5240 that’s always an option as well but we’re talking about the versatility of bead maker not what products to use. There’s always a different price point to interior ceramics compared what you can use for just making your detail stand out from others and provide extra protection without having to charge more as well

I detail a lot of soccer mom type vehicles. Usually they are concerned about the interior and not super concerned about the exterior. Bead maker is perfect for this because it adds gloss and makes the car look better than they thought possible. Without doing a lot of work. When bead maker was new they were pushing the rag company high pile towel which I experienced the dusting issue. When I switched to a low pile it went away.

As I’ve grown as a detailer, I’ve learned how to use Beadmaker. My basic washes get Beadmaker (or similar spray sealant). It is an SiO2 spray sealant. Because it was developed so long ago, the way it cures is outdated. It cures fast, which means if you run a dry towel over it after it cures, you’re going to create a static charge, which will attract dust. That’s what got it a bad reputation. What have I don’t to get around that? Leave a little bit of water on the car when applying it. It will not compromise its durability. It will last till the next wash. Whether it’s 6 weeks or 6 months from then. I’ve tested it. Low pile towel is also key. Also excellent for wiping down wheels & jambs. Still an amazing product all things considered if you ask me

    • @DETAILSofficial

I'm mostly only detailing my own vehicles, but man I love Bead Maker. Cheap, slick and the best gloss around.
I don't know if I'm just lucky, but I've never had a single issue with it in the wide ranging climate here in Minnesota. Hot, cold, dry, humid...it just works amazing. No smearing, no dusting or anything. I try to make it fail in the way that people complain about it, but I i just can't ever replicate what others say. I've also had it last months on my daily driven (but garaged) vehicles that only ever see rinseless washes.
So am I just that good? Am I that lucky? Or are the haters just lying and making things up?

I was a fan at first. Used as a drying aid and it lasted till the next wash. Didn't stop bird poop from staining my alpine white car and created static for dust though. I thought Technician Choice was minimally better for the problems. They are all just drying aids with a few weeks of protection and hydrophobics. For protection Moonlight and Can Coat are better options if you can't ceramic coat. Keep the Beadmaker type products for gloss and drying aids. Maybe there is some new products that are better now. I've tried everything from the last 5 years and they are all the same. I gave up hoping for them to last and just use waterless wash for drying aids now.

Have never used it and never going to but Im sure it has it's place. Silica based products (creams, pastes and sprays) are my #1 preference (SIO4 etc) , polymers are a distant second. Polymers don't provide the film build thus the rich colour that silica can but the formula is what makes or breaks them. I've been using silica based stuff since the 1990's but not all products are created equal though. I am 160 brands down after thirty years and not much impresses me anymore really. Permanon was my last favourite spray product which is silica based, the Profiline version. It was mega slick, 1 litre makes 5 to 20 litres of product, it's glossy as glass but suffered water spotting issues too easily which pissed me off so I haven't used anything but rinseless on my two cars for years now. Just applying a few layers of coating and rinseless does the job for many years. Ultimately know the characteristics of each product type you like and find products that have those characteristics but which also provide results that last.
