    I wonder how to clean the INSIDE of exhaust hood. The filters and outside are easy.

      @kaffarghost3223 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Agree. My outside is clean but grease is dripping out of the filter housing. I’d have to take the microwave off and apart to get inside!! Need a way to do it without disassembly.

      I agree haven’t been able to find how to clean the inside, the duct or the fan itself including the blades.

    What about the greasy fans?

  • @larryseago730
    @larryseago730 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Agree with Adela, our issue isn't cleaning what you cleaned, we know how to do that. It's the "guts" of the vent hood that need it. The fan, the exhaust fluge, etc. Grease drips back down from up in that. Then globules dangle from the clean screen. I may have to remove the fan motor assy and swab up there. Then let it drip until dry I guess. Never done it before. So I am winging it on that idea.

    just use industrial degreaser. Drain cleaner will eat away at the surface of the filters

    Caution: most drain openers don't react well with steel, as they are very corrosive.

    • @michelle-lc9qj
      @michelle-lc9qj 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Vinegar is acidic and doesn’t do well on grease, or organic matter. Not sure why everyone suggests it. Alkaline cleaners like degreasers work much better. They do better on organic mattter.

    @psychohippie ปีที่แล้ว +3

    OMG! NO! Please don't use drain opener on anything, even opening drains. Much less anything that is gonna get heat and gonna hang above your food and release fumes at face level.
    ❶ Do a baking soda wash and scrub with a brush, follow with a vinegar soak then water rinse.
    AND/OR
    ❷ Use a garden hose and a nozzle with different patterns that concentrates it in one small jet and simply the water pressure. even better if you have a pressure washer, but the garden hose does the job!
