I hope this guy gets what he's asking, or close to it, because she's a ripper. You can just tell from how clean she is that she has been well maintained over and above.
I purchased one of the 8 this last spring 2024 on Lake Superior. The price is solid, including dinghy? Great price. Step off dock onto boat and boat is more stable!
There's a Navigator 38' for sale on FB Marketplace on the Texas coast and I've been really tempted to go take a look. One thing I'm not clear on is what kind of performance you get out of these boats just with sails -- to be clear, I don't need to go fast on just the wind, just need to be able to go ;) Some folks make it sound like these "can't sail at all" and I'm curious what your take is.
As I’ve said in the video, a Motorsailer is a particular type of sailboat you purchase for a particular reason. 😎 And you can tell how much value I place in the opinions of Salty Dawgs and armchair sailors who have never done anything other than type on Facebook. Thanks for the comment good luck 👍 😁
I believe one is for sale near Green Bay. FB marketplace. I just purchased one. Motor sailor with sail assist, I say. You can throttle down 1200 with good wind, Jib out and still maintain 8 knots. Stop once every 6 months for fuel. Only 3.5’ is under water!!
@@chopperdoodle1 "stop once every six months for fuel" is definitely part of the appeal! I also really love the idea of a "motorsailer" that can be largely electric, recharging the batteries with prop regen under sail and motoring with a big battery pack when needed, with a generator for backup.
🐙You must have missed the part around 1:20 and again at 14:00 where i talk about the boat being winterized and the mast step😉 your homework is to watch the video again and the entire playlist 😁👍
As I said in the video, Salty Dawg 🤓The boat is being winterized and the mast and sails put away for the season. 😂watch the video😅This was the last day before being pulled from the water for winter storage 😁
Oh Todd you Salty Dawg 🐙😂 you obviously missed the part of the video where I explained the mast was off the boat as it’s being winterized and the boat comes with a main and roller jib. 👍😁 Be sure to like and subscribe

Very cool boat!! The fuel tank looks and sounds like fiberglass to me.
Good point Mark😁 You might be right
It does kind of look like it up close 🤔
A sailboat has sails, this is a motor boat.
If you watch the video 🐙you will see the boat under sail , the mast step, and the sails. ⛵️😂

I did some electrical work on one of those in Ft Lauderdale back in the 80's, would have loved to get my hands on it.

Thanks for the comment James 😁👍 Be sure to subscribe and spread the word
I love it! Price is a bit steep but given the boats rarity, it's not surprising.
🐙Pricing is right in the money for the rarity and the daily runner. 😁
Cool video, great job, thanks.
Thanks Gary! Welcome aboard👍😁 Be sure to subscribe
Was there a Fales 38 as well?
Nice report !!
Yes indeed there was😁 thanks for the comment

🦄 🌈 😂
Whoa, small world. I’ve looked at this a number of times. Saw it all the time up in Sturgeon Bay. Wish it had a better second berth option.
No reason for a second berth. 😂Perhaps a reason for a different boat.
I almost bought that exact boat! Found one in Duluth MN. At my Marina!!
Excellent👍😁 Welcome to the Boat Boat Werks
I'd say forget the main, use the genoa downwind and just let that little perkins hum you to sleep. Looks like a baby Kady.
Thanks for the comment😁
I believe they are fiberglass fuel tanks
I think you may be right 👍
I believe it is insulated. Heat soke isn’t issue on Superior. The tanks live very close to engine.
👍
I own one
Brilliant! 😁 Be sure to spread the word and subscribe to the channel
Nice
A sailboat with no mast where do you put the sails?😂
🐙You must have missed the part around 1:20 and again at 14:00 where i talk about the boat being winterized and the mast step😉 your homework is to watch the video again and the entire playlist 😁👍
How is it a "sailboat" when there aren't any sails?
As I said in the video, Salty Dawg 🤓The boat is being winterized and the mast and sails put away for the season. 😂watch the video😅This was the last day before being pulled from the water for winter storage 😁
@@motorcityboatwerks Didn't catch that part!
🤓
If thats true, you might want to think about getting a mast, and some sails

@@motorcityboatwerks obviously.. That is a fine looking vessel, I will give you that
