I’ve watched at least a dozen videos about proper use of the Philips pasta maker. I was about to sell the item on eBay as each video was worse than the previous one. Then I said “one last attempt” and I found this video. OMG. Life altering. I will never ever not have homemade pasta. You made it so easy. My measurements were always off and you showed EXACTLY what to do. Thank you so very much!!!
@@denisekomoski1888 It's hard to tell from the manufacturer's site or Amazon, but it IS available as part of a set of accessory extruder discs. Lasagne is just flat sheets -- sfoglie ("sFOH-lee-yeh") -- so you can either use a plain pasta roller or just roll them out by hand using a rolling pin.
Just got this machine from Sur La Table's store closing sale for $75! I love that she goes through the entire process, from start to clean up. Philips should hire her!
I bought mine years ago from Williams Sonoma..........absolutely love it - my hubby said don't ever buy the box again LOL. Too bad I can't post pictures with my comment because I have wonderful dishes I've made using this machine! I highly recommend. Wonderful video Christine!
I've had this machine a little over a year and i love it. I weigh the imported 00 flour with a digital scale and it comes out perfect. This definitely beats the stuffing out of my hand crank pasta makers. Its MUCH less work, much faster, and far less clean up. Your video is an awesome introduction to this machine. If i didn't already own the machine, you've sold me. 😊
That was a great demonstration of the whole process. Thank you! It is amazing how hard it is to get straight forward instructions on many common machines, so your thoroughness is much appreciated :)
I add garlic granules and dried parsley...adds some nice flavor. Just sprinkle seasoning in when it's "mixing". Fresh homemade pasta cooks much faster that the store bought hard pasta!
Thanks for the video. I picked this machine up at Bed Bath and Beyond online Black Friday 2018. 159.00 plus free shipping. It just arrived today and can’t wait to make my first batch of pasta.
Just bought this today from HSN for $299.00 and 5 easypay of $59.00 and the 4 extra disc that come two in a pack for $24.00 each . They didn't show how easy it was to clean so I appreciate your demonstration thank you. Can wait to make Organic pasta. At least now I know what's in my pasta.
maritza Domeneck Thank you! I hope you enjoy it! I use the new discs and absolutely love them! I like angel hair pasta and the papparadelle wheel a lot! The new wheels are super nice!
What a great demonstration. I got one as a gift and it had no instructions in it... I think this will take the place of the instructions and then some! Thanks again.
Excellent video on the Phillips Pasta Machine. You were very clear and covered all the bases from making the dough to making the various types of noodles. It was nice to see how easy it was for the cleanup process afterwards too. Thank you for making the video and hopefully you'll make more in the future.
Where have I been I just bought by Philp‘s pasta maker in 2022. Love it made lasagna tonight. I did not cook the lasagna noodles in water I put them right in my lasagna pan which I have done before with store-bought noodles. I thought it was a little chewy probably should’ve boiled them first.
OMG! OMG! OMG! Im buying this machine pronto!!! Thanks for your demo. My boyfriend loves pasta but cant have it but now with this machine I can infuse spinach or whatever and make it healthier for him. I hope it tastes as good as it looks lol Thanks so much for your video!!!
Thanks for the great video. We picked one up on sale, brought it home and within the hour we were making pasta. Not only was it easy but the clean up was a breeze! We have a Kitchenaid pasta maker that works off the meat grinder attachment. This machine puts the kitchenaid pasta maker to shame! ..We are extremely happy with this purchase.
What a smart helpful user you are! What a smart helpful user you are! Yes, cleanup helps too! Thank you for assuring us who aren't sure to buy it...!! Thank you so much for assuring us who aren't sure to buy it
Received the pasta maker for Xmas.. This one has auto weight function where among of liquid is determined when cup of flour is added .. Just made a single serving of spaghetti which came to 300 grams .. No issues , tastes great .. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the video! As said before because you show the cleaning process it really helps. I don't have a dishwasher so it's nice that it's good to clean by hand! Thanks a lot this video is very nice!
I have the Phillips compact one. I love it but this one cleans up so much easier! Mine is a bear to clean the die! Great job on explaining the uses. I took away info as well even if a different version. Thanks!
You make it look so easy! I've wanted to make my own pasta for the longest time. Added this machine to my wish list for Christmas. Thank you for the tips!!!
Loved your video, I just got mine a few days ago and have made pasta just yesterday, it was easy and it tasted great, I will be using it a lot, this is much easier to use and to clean up then my old hand crank machine.
That was a tremendous help, thank you so much! A friend and I used hers for the first time yesterday and were at kind of loose ends until we watched your video. I wondered if you have done any others making flavored pastas and/or ravioli. You did such a great job walking through the process, would love to see more videos from you. Happy New Year!
Thank you, Christine, for such a great and informative video! I just bought the Philips pasta maker, and used it last night for the first time. It was just as easy to use as you have illustrated, but I wish I'd seen your video first! (Didn't know about the disc cleaners!) Thanks, again!
Thanks for the upload, i don't understand why you had thumbs down as you did a fantastic job explaining how the product works. It is a nice toy, it's so easy to make pasta but in fairness i've no use for it myself, better suited for a family of 4. As we don't eat pasta that often.
That's a lot of views! What a great video! Enjoyed it thoroughly and a fantastic, realistic, demonstration of this obviously well made machine by a great company well know for Coffee makers (Saeco branded).
It‘s so easy to make perfect Pasta with nothing but your hands and a rolling pin. Takes a little effort. But I find it much more satisfying than messing about with just another machine that clutters my kitchen workspace. The reciepe itself for pasta dough is good though. I‘d only replace the regular flour with „semalo“ as it‘s called in italian (slightly coarse durum wheat flour).
Thank you so much! I just received mine yesterday from Costco. Mine did not come with that cleaning tool. Do you know where I could buy one? It took me forever to clean my disc today
The cleaning tool should have come with the disc...unless they have changed what they send with product. I would double check if you were suppose to get one...if you did not I would call the company. I am sorry I do not know where to buy another cleaning tool...but maybe call the company? I hope you enjoy your pasta machine! I still love mine! =)
Thanks for your video, I was a little confused on the liquid ratio in the pasta book recipe. Thanks to your video you cleared that up for me! Great viddeo
Also, small things, but I like how she had a basket containing the soaps and lotion and sponges by the sink! Most sinks don't have enough room for that, but like: goals! (:
Just asked Santa (my 2 daughters) for this machine for Christmas. Can't wait to make my own pasta. Most store pastas are just flour and water, no eggs., So we're eating paste!!
Thank you for posting this video. I just received one for Christmas and love it, but I did learn a tip or two from this. What type of flour did you use in this video?
+Lisa Mega Hi! I am glad you are enjoying your pasta maker! =) In this video I used just regular unbleached white flour. When you use just flour your pasta does get a little "thicker and heartier" when you boil it. For one recipe of pasta if you want a "thinner more store like" pasta...then I would use flour and semolina...when I do that I fill the cup that came with the machine with flour...leaving about 1/2 an inch to the top. Then I fill the rest of the cup with semolina on top of the flour. My pasta always turns out perfect either way!
Thank you so much for this video! It is the most informative video I have seen on this pasta maker. Is it cheaper than purchasing pasta at the store? Also can you dry the pasta and store it in a glass jar or a bag for long term storage? Thank you very much
Just a note...Someone let me know that there are now more discs available at Philips-store.com. They sell in sets of two for 24.99 each set...a total of 4 new discs. One set includes Thick spaghetti/Tagliatelle for 24.99....2nd set includes Pappardelle/Angel Hair for 24.99. Shipping so far is free. I just ordered them today! I will let you know how I like them!

I bought a pasta maker...first time making pasta, I messed it up, thank you for your video, I made a great batch of pasta after watching this!!!
Best video on this machine yet because you show the cleanup process. Thanks, Christine.
Agreed, this is crucial!
Does all Philips pasta machines come with the lasagna fitting.

Thanks, I wasn't bothered about buying one, but now I'm really sold on it. Brilliant!
Fabulous! One of the best videos to watch to learn about this machine!
Thank you for this! I’ve had this machine for like 2 years but found it intimidating. You really simplified it for me!

Great demonstration Christine. Thank you so much!
A must watch! Best video on TH-cam for an electric pasta maker.
